Welcome to Yoga with Yana!
We have created a complete beginner yoga journey series to help you to become familiar and comfortable with your yoga practice. Whether it's your first time ever stepping on your mat, or you have been practicing for a while, the purpose of this series is to help you become familiar with different yoga poses, help you establish a connection between the mind, body and breath and to help you experience the magic of yoga. If you aren't able to do every pose right away, don't worry, just try your best and don't worry about the rest. With consistent effort and practice, you will surely get better and feel much more comfortable with your practice.
I invite you to please listen to your body and take breaks if necessary. A good pose to rest in is child's pose which you can get into by starting at a table top position (on all fours), open up your knees mat distance apart, bring your big toes to touch and heels slightly apart. Extend your arms forward, towards the top of your mat, and begin to lower your chest down to the ground to the best of your ability. If you need extra support, feel free to either place a pillow underneath your chest and rest on top it, or place a block underneath your forehead and rest it on top of the block.
For best results, I encourage you to practice consistently (as much as you are able to). It is my absolute pleasure to guide you through this class and I sincerely hope you feel much more open, relaxed and energized after this class. Do we do these exercises once and move on to the next episode, or do we have to practice each episode for a certain period, then move on to the next episode?
