***UPDATE!*** I have a new version of this video up! It goes more in depth about what to look for when buying a BMX bike! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lU3SoPBpmJw.html
Just broke a Sunday Blueprint and fractured my thumb, 2 posterior ribs, separated my shoulder and full concussion. Screw the warranty. Get a chromoly frame
@@hehki3526 only the sunday soundwave, darkwave and nightshift have lifetime warranty on the frames and the sunday primer is a piece of shit, all high tensile frame and parts, single wall rims and front hub has loose bearings, not even sealed bearings thats pathetic ,doesnt get much worse, its a kids bike
I'll add another option here, the FIT Spriet 2019. A little heavy at 28lbs but full chromoly and sealed bearings on everything. 20.5" Top tube, 4 pegs, and Odyssey twisted pedals. All for $375 USD
Honestly I was looking at we the people versus and a lot of Sunday complete which do you think I should go with looking at spending around 5 to maybe 7 or 8
Thanks to your video I was able to pick out a 2018 kink gap 100 percent cromo and sealed everything in trans purple thank you for giving me a heads up on what to look for
It wasn't bad but not good, I busted the frame in a 540 attempt but otherwise a nice bike, already switched everything little by little, only thing I have left is the stem, really good stem btw!!
@Joshua tree actually just bought a begin complete about a week ago too, love it , had to tighten all spokes after two rides...(new bike syndrome) hope you got yours fixed!
I bought the Cult devotion 2019 20' for 600€. Will be my first bike, only been riding for 2 weeks with a used bike that broke down unfortunately. Really hope it's gonna stay with me for a while. Nice guide :)
@@sweetcreature8674 I like it :) can't complain. Just tightend the bolts after 2 weeks and it's quiet solid. Don't know that much about bikes but according to a friend it's good. Just make sure you get a chromoly bike
I just get back into racing after a couple years off bmx. Wanted to hit up skateparks to get some more riding time. I ordered a sunday ex complete. Couldn't beat the price. Was looking at the haro rs1 trails but in my early 20s odyssey always made some of my favorite parts. Stoked on it. For the price I was able to get a different chain ring and new chain for less then the haro. Only gripe is the 8 spline cranks, but for $509 I couldn't complain. When they start to go I'll upgrade.
I know it's high TENSILE steel, not high tension steel. In case you were not aware, I have an accent (not from the US.) Yes I know it sounds like I am saying tension. Promise you I am not. Let's get past this lol, damn.
I own a kink gap it was 400$ to 450$ but it was worth it for how much it is I hope this helps people that want to buy a bmx bike and I recommend a place to get it from I got mine at goods bmx in Portland Oregon that has almost every bike you could ever want it could take a week or two if he doesn’t have them in stock but if he does your in luck
whats your opinion on the tom dugans 2019 signature bike? really thinking of getting it as my first bike as tom strikes me as a guy who knows how to create a solid bike :)
If you are between 5'5 and 6'1 honestly no reason to get anything other than Kink Whip/Whip XL. Bike comes completely ready to ride. Swap the 8 spline cranks for 48s and it will feel almost perfect.
I Tried my friends Bmx bike and I would really like to get my own bike soon, Im 5'7" And 145 I dont know much About BMX but I want to get into It. It seems Really cool. what bike do you recommend?
I think the 2021 models are about to come out which is why you may be having a hard time man! Keep an eye out for it, they are two tone fade. Looks dope!
Hey man, I am a little older so I have a much larger budget. Completely new to bmx and 35 years old. 5’10” 140lbs. My budget is open ended but would like to spend 800-1000. What is a great bike that will last me for a couple years...
I would personally go for the new kink williams is a 2020 bike line it has 2 aftermarket parts but it has double butted tube for your frame which it streng them more and 48 spindle cranks and also 2.5 tires it makes the landing even smoother
Fjfjfj fkckckckcjc you actually named the bike I was seriously considering...nathan williams is a sick rider and the bike looks like it has good parts. what about that we the people envy? Its a few hundred more, what do you think about that bike?
@@TheAcenightcreeper the envy is considered as the best, most stabile and solid complete out there but it's hella expensive... if i had the money for a WTP Envy i would rather build a custom by myself
I need help to know if a bmx i found is suitable for my age. Its a 2009 Haro Forum Intro Lite And its 20' im 13 and im 4"10 do you think i can use this im a girl so i grow alot slower
I know this is an old comment but if someone ever sees this response, 21" is way to big for someone under 5 feet tall. 18" max. but I know this comment is 4 years old so I'm sure he grew by now! lol
Trying to choose between the 2020 Wethepeople Trust or the 2020 Sunday Street Sweeper. A lot of people have been saying go for the WTP due to the fact that the cranks are 48 spline instead of 8 spline like the Sunday. Does the Sunday have better parts though like the Odyssey V2 freecoaster and other Odyssey parts? I’d rather deal with switching out cranks and having a perfect bike than switching out multiple parts including a hub and having to rebuild a wheel. Your thoughts?
What did you end up going with? I had the street sweeper for a long time but I loved on to a Standard. the rear end of the street sweeper was too short for me.
Wasley Schultz I read some reviews and many said they didn’t get their bike and it was a scam. It seems they used to be great but they are falling apart. I ended up going with a Fit bike co Prk (Bagz edition) from Albe’s
What about the Fly Proton? Bang for your buck one of the best bikes hands down. If I'm spending 700+ , the bike better have a sprocket guard. Just saying.
I don’t know what bike to get I’m new to bmx and don’t know what to get I’m 14 and 5,4 almost 5,5 but haven’t hit a main growth spurt so I want one to get something I can grow into any suggestions? My budget is little over 400$ I don’t want anything aluminum. And that will last me a long time
I’m about 5’5 and found a really good deal on a Stolen Sinner XLT but its a 21” top tube bike. Do you think that’ll be fine for me to start on? Heres the description of the bike “Stolen sinner xlt frame, stolen complete wheelset, stolen crank, fiction bars, forks, and seat/post. All full chromalloy parts. Probably around $750 to build the bike” thats what the guy said and he’s selling it for $150
It’s a solid bike man. They are $700 new so $150 is a bargain. The length of the top tube may be an issue. You just have to ride it and see what you think. But I think it’s too long for you.
They are for sure worth it. Sadly bmx bikes don’t hold their value so I’ve seen custom $1200 bikes for for half that. Just shop around online, Facebook marketplace, and join some bmx buy sell trade pages on Facebook. You’ll come across good deals.
Hey! I'm 5.2", which size should I get? 20.25"? There are two bikes in my shop with this size, the Kink Launch 2020 and a wethepeople "CRS 20" 2020. Which is better and why? Greetings! :)
What do you think of the Fit series one 2020? I am a beginner BMX'er, just over 6'1 so will get the 21' top tube. Has cromy top and downtube but the rest is Hi Ten- should I worry about this?
What size toptube would you recommend for me being 6ft5 230lbs ? I rode my whole life growing up and when I hit 6ft4 I went through a 20" then 20.25, 20.5 and 21 and it just didn't matter I have heard things about running higher bars making it more comfortable for a taller man is it time to just grow up and get over the 20" BMX name and jump to a 22"? But I grew up riding and to this day I'm 38 now and on a bike is still the only place I felt "free" and that noone could tell me anything I could go where I want jump what I want grind what I wanted to grind but coming up on 20 years since I have constantly rode I am wanting to jump back on a BMX and see just how much damage I can do to myself lmao got the broken ankle with screws n plates and got the torn acl but acl was last and that was 2013 so I am coming up on being due for a injury and if I'm gonna do it I would prefer to do it on a bike doing something I enjoy if you get this and read and or reply thank you so much
What do you think of the Haro shredder pro 24” for 340? I’m just getting into bmx and that’s really all they had and I’m in a small town. Any suggestion for upgrades if I needed to?
My Son had an SE Ripper that was stolen from the yard so we were in the market. We found an unsold 2017 GT Team bike with a 20.75 top tube and chromoly front triangle. It has sealed everything and double wall rear rim and we got a good deal on it. What are your thoughts on the GT Team bikes?
Hi between kink kicker 18" 2022 $399, and Sunday primer 2021 $359, which one would you recommend based on these price and their specs? These are the two my local stores carry. It's for a 51" boy who started to do jumps at a park. His previous street bike rim got bent doing jumps so we want to get him a better solid bike to learn more tricks. Thanks.
@@WasleySchultz ordered it from a company called the house apparently fedex lost my package and their either gonna give me a refund or a replacement smh
Aye bro I'm living in Turkey so in this place all bmx bikes looks like a Walmart bikes so I just want to kink gap but I need to worldwide shipping how can I get I dunno
NO. Chromoly is not more durable. Well it is BUT you need to tell folk the reasons. Hi Tensile steel bikes that are well made will be just as strong. God this idea though that Chromo means instantly stronger needs to die. What you are really paying for is WEIGHT SAVING! Chromo is just as strong as Hi- ten despite using THINNER TUBES. Its this distinction folk need to understand. The chromoly simply makes the frame lighter. This I'm afraid is how it works. Don't believe ask any engineer who workd with metal tubing. A good quality well made Hi ten frame will last as long as chromo (though it is down to riders ability to protect it from rust as Hi ten is more susceptible to rust haha) In addition. Chormoly frames have a life span. If you ride seriously you will be looking at it lasting a few years before risk of crack become more serious. From that point onwards your gonna be looking at fatigue starting to take effect. If you ride hard it will last even less time. So a beginner who is serious about learning is just as likely to wreck a chromo frame early on as a hi ten frame so they will likely have to change anyway thus making buying chormo first a bit pointless. On top of that weight doesn't necesarily make stuff easier as most riding is down to technique. Basiclaly if you cna only afford a hi ten steel frame go for it, its better to ride and learn that miss out. You can always save for a new bike later. And teh growing into a frame iss ue just isn't an issue. I also notice you don't mention SE bikes... they are in similar price range and use high quality aluminium, the same materials as used in high end Mountain bikes... so how come no mention? ALuminium BMX frames are amazing if you have never used one, so light its crazy. |Certainly there kids range is way better value for money than the big BMX companies mentioned here. Incidently I'm riding a STolen Saint 24". Really ncie bike... and again no mention of stolen...
The top tube is 20.5". I'm 6'3" and even at 21", I'm thinking of going a little longer for my next frame. Go bigger. Stick to 21", you'll feel more comfortable. If you really want that bike try and replace the stem with something longer (more reach) from like profile or something. And taller bars.
My buds gotta bran new fit begin 21" with matching 9.4O" 4 piece bars..I got other parts to build with..How do u think that combo would feel with my size and would u use it yourself??
I’m looking for a BMX bike for my boyfriend, had a redline bike . He does still ride , but I would like to get him a bike . I’m not sure what size frame .
