Appreciate you posting this up even though the rears didn't work out so that others don't make the same mistake. I am in the process of swapping out my front Z32 calipers for the 350Z calipers, keeping the rear stock calipers but still glad I stumbled on your video so that I now I know.

Brakes are a tough decision because of wheels. I'm going to end up ordering the conceptz stoptech front brakes cause I want to keep my wheels that barely fit OEM calipers. I'm going to add a hubcentric spacer. It might not even work. So I feel your pain. Hope it all gets sorted for you

Type 200 is better fluid than that motul crappa. If you wan some proper race stuff go with ravenol 325c

Sorry to hear you wasted all that time and money on the rears. You need to find a better source for Z32 information. I looked into this a lot 15 years ago and NEVER found info that the rear 350Z Brembo fit the Z32. I'm surprised the info you sourced says they will work:(

I actually didn’t read anywhere that it would work on the rears, I read that the front would work just didn’t read anything on the rears at all and completely missed it on my own, just assumed it would probably work. Didn’t even cross my mind that maybe it wouldn’t. 100% my fault. It sucks but it is what it is, hard way to learn a lesson that’s for sure! Lol

What's the cost for a machine shop to plug the existing hole on the caliper and drill over to the correct location and would it be safe/reliable?

I didn’t find out, it honestly not worth it really, the read calipers are the same size as the OEM z32 ones. Doesn’t make much difference on the rear. You have to cut the bolt whole and re weld it so it lines up with the Brembo caliper

Hey bro, I don't even have a zx anymore but I still have that desire so I love watching people upgrade theirs so post everything! It brings back a lot of memories. We've all been there and don't get too bummed out when these things happen. When I changed my water pump I dropped one of the bolts inside the engine, my friend (God rest his soul) said my face turned white. 😁 So this is nothing. Just take safety precautions as you have been doing, health and safety top priority and enjoy every moment. 👍

Hey man got a couple of questions for the brake kit. I currently have enkei 18x7.5 wheels. Based on your research do you know if your front breñoso kit would fit those wheels? Also can you share the part numbers for the kit? Their page is hard to search and whenever I search on Google for that model I get the top of the line brembo (more expensive than Akebono) TIA

The 350z brembos are just slightly bigger than the Z32 brakes. So if you have even an inch of so of space is your brakes and wheels right now, it will clear. I got the brembo calipers from rockauto. Sorry don’t have the part number anymore but I believe I searched for brakes for a 2008 350z and then selected the front ones

So I have the the same setup up front. If you really want to match the front you have to find the R33 Brembo rears, they’ll bolt right up. Problem is they’re also quite expensive for the slight increase in size. Hope this helps

Thanks! Yeah I knew about the R33 being straight bolt ons but knew the 350Z were the more common ones people used. I did the research for the front and for some reason just assumed the rear would be the same, very stupid now that I look back on it, not sure how I missed it lol haven’t decided what I’m going to do with the rears yet, still thinking about it. But you guys will definitely see what I end up doing 👌

To avoid such issues, I went with the Z1 Akebono brake kit. When doing upgrades I hate such surprises. Live and learn Bro!

I need some of those mini ramps! Don't trip man I've been there. Unfortunately thats how we learn. When I saw. the kit I said to myself " maybe they have. a kit for the rear to fit now." I guess not. Hang in there bro It will come together, If you are a stickler for matching, take stock rear calipers and shave off the nissan, have them powder coated to match and put brembo stickers on them! shoot me your email and I will show you a pic of mine. Only person that will know the difference is another z guy!
