You can put the 370z akebono shields on there but they are not bolt-on. You have to cut and weld. There's an Aussie channel that goes over how to do it but I can't remember the channel name off the top of my head
I like the mods you're doing but it would be great if you showed the actual work involved instead of editing to the finished product. Like the hood strut on the drivers side. And the cut you did on the dri ers rear dust shield.
I'll keep that in mind for future vids - some of the work I do I have a timeline to get things done by, and recording videos of it makes it take 2-3 times longer than not videoing them
I can understand that. And I understand that it also takes up your time and that, for the most part, you do it for free. And for that, I and many others, are grateful.
Yeah this car has a lot of period correct parts with all service records. It's pretty amazing for the mileage. Garage kept most of its life too so it's really clean.
Hey I’m about to pull the trigger on the Akebonos so I was watching some vids again and I realized something- is this the same TT from Practical Enthusiast who did the DBA rotors? If so why the change? Performance? Or just personal preference? Also watching you struggle a bit with the rears is make me hesitate a little. But I have a ‘95. Wonder if there were differences from ‘90 to ‘95? What wheels did you end up going with? In any case again great job
Yes it is! Same car. I bought it last April I think. Great guy and he took really good care of this beast. The dba brakes he had on here used track pads and they were noisy and didn't work great on the street. If you watch his videos you can see he tracked the car with them, so they had developed a bit of pulsation in the pedal (warped rotors). I've had great luck with these akebonos on my last two cars, so it was a no brainer to use them and they offer very very good stopping power and are a decent "budget" two piece rotor design. I ended up with AV06 wheels, went with gold. Not sure I'm in love with them, but for now they work great.
