True, and it has been true. This year’s east and west are better and deeper than last year (especially considering playoff injuries). The east has gotten significantly better every year since 2018. The west has been up and down, mostly due to injuries to the nuggets and clippers

@@lik7953 the east was definitely better this year remember the bucks could have maybe won against celitcs, they were missing Middleton. But there is no question that next year the west WILL be better, the Nuggets were somehow the 6 seed without Jamal Murray, Memphis could be the next suns, the pelicans seem to be coming up especially if Ziok comes back, Minnesota seems to finally be competitive, the clippers WILL be back next year, and Spurs could possibly hang around. The only offset is what happens to the Jazz, will the suns be top level next or just competitive, will the warriors be top level again, and will the mavericks be either better or the same next year (which is usually around 4 to 6 seed team).

Issue is DA wants a max and if were all being honest Suns needs other players to really round that team. 1st they need another playmaker to ease CP3 minutes 2nd they need a shot creator that can bail out a play when Booker or CP3 gets trapped.

I think the Pacers trade is actually a very good idea! Getting Myles Turner and a young talent is a good return. Myles would be an upgrade on defense. I would give him a max and trade him mid-season if CP3 or Book are injured and the team doesn't do well though...

Every team could do a sign and trade for DA.. doesn’t mean they will. Unless Khem Birch and Malachi Flynn is a sufficient package, there’s no realistic path to the Raptors getting Ayton.

@@TrueGuardify yeah maybe, like I said not sure how Grizzlies/Suns fans would feel about that trade, but from an outside perspective it seems like a relatively fair trade. The Suns dont want to pay, they are getting an expiring contract in Steven Adams who like you said has a similar skillset. They also get a young asset in X Williams and possibly a first or two. For the Grizzlies though, I think this is a very exciting trade. They are getting rid of someone on an expiring contract anyways and who barely had PT in the playoffs (Adams) for someone who definitely will get PT in the playoffs (Ayton) and fits on the timeline of not only Ja Morant but JJJ. Yes, they have similar skillsets, but let's not act like Ayton isn't a better scorer and defender, just based on the fact that he's a lot quicker/faster and can keep up with everyone else which is what Steven Adams struggled with.

I aint a Lakers fan but I'm with you. Ayton in gold and purple just seems right to me, I dont even know why. Maybe cause it's a make or break situation. He needs a change of his environment to challenge him to step up to the next level and I think it has to be a big stage. Nobody, him included, with his size, can be satisfied with averaging 16 ppg. He should be out there averaging at least 25 ppg and defend on a high level. I wouldnt blame him for not being able to pin down luca, noone can when Luca has his regular hot streaks, he just makes insane shots with consistency.

There is options I think Casey is missing. He can just strike his way out of his contract since he's an unrestricted agent next year anyway. He isnt chained to the Suns. And it would be in his own best interest to leave. They didnt give him the max, the team spirit is done, they missed their window to win a title with that specific team, CP isnt going to take them over the hump and while he's still young his development in Phoenix has been stagnant. I disagree when Casey calls it an improvement (under Paul) when Ayton improves his ppg from about 15 to about 17ppg. Technically, sure that is improved. But it is very underwhelming. Ayton needs to leave the Suns to develop and to prove himself and challenge himself on another team, preferably a big stage team. He is not a franchise face, but he might be a key player to get a good team over the hump if he gets the right coaching and team strategy. He wont be Giannis or Jokic, but he doesnt need to with the right team. I think with his size he should be able to get to a point where he makes a consistent 25 ppg, with above average defense.
