I spent part of my weekend putting together a custom subwoofer as a gift for a friend. It came out AMAZINGLY well, especially for the price. Using an old amplifier from a worn out Yamaha, I was able to put together a seamless box perfectly tuned for an ideal sound from an 8” Dayton Audio driver. It easily fills his open floor plan living space (~600sqft) with a small footprint.
Here are the parts I used in addition to the free amplifier if you want to try something similar:

If you also need to pick up an amplifier to pair, this is what I would suggest:

Nice Lord Curt! You don't mind that I ask something unrelated? In buying a BMS for my bike project but I'm wondering why you bought a 100a only BMS for that massive battery in the cafe racer bike? Won't trip when pulling huge amps...?

I don’t mind at all! We bypassed the BMS on discharge, so it won’t run the discharge current through the BMS. That means the BMS will still balance it, but it won’t be able to shut down the pack on discharge, only on charge. It’ll rebalance each charge, and as long as we set the controller to shut off a volt or two above the normal cut of voltage there is no risk.

No, I actually just started messing around with these types of projects on my own time in about 2014 and learned what I needed to know on my own. I studied biology, haha 😆
