This video follows the start to finish construction of a small, but very stylish, vacation home for one of our clients. We are calling it The Modern Mountain Getaway, and it features vaulted ceilings, a huge wall of windows, and lots of outdoor space for the owners zen garden! In this video we will highlight building techniques, building codes, order of operations, cost, building materials and tools used, and also even talk about the problems we run into during the build! This is going to be good fun.. And the best part is that you can rent this home for your own mountain getaway!!
This video is a very condensed compilation of a video series that we previously released comprised of 26 longer videos adding up to about six hours total content. This is a great way to catch all of the highlights in about a quarter of the time!

Probably the best Ryan's ru-vid.comUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.

We truly enjoy all videos !! I was in Commercial Construction for 30 years. The foundation is one of the few things I disagree with you on. It costs nothing to bring up rebar from the footing to the block wall. It’s a pain because sometimes the rebar lands where the edge of or center of the block hits. Lay it out better or chip the block and bend the rebar over to the open cell. I don’t like a slick finish on top of the footing. I believe in a raked finish. I agree , It is easier to pop a line and faster to lay the block. The roughness of a raked finish bonds the mortar to the foundation. A slick finish will never give you the lateral strength that a raked finish does.

A good portion of this went over my head, but I can appreciate how detailed oriented y’all are. I’m sure the home owner appreciates it as well.

Love the content, it would be cool to see you do a series on your subcontractors going more into depth what they’re doing at each site, electricians, hvac, etc

Hey guys I am 2nd year Architecture student in syria I wanna say i really enjoyed watching this I love building with wood rather than bricks and blocks The funny thing that here in my country the code forces us to use concrete , bricks and blocks 😅 Keep it up ❤

🦋Love this channel. So nice to see a company doing work and hiring subcontractors that pays so much attention to detail and quality. Keep up the good work and thank you for all the work it takes putting these videos together. I watched another channel or somebody built a house with a steep roof in the metal roofing and it appears that they don’t know about snow breaks so I will have them look at this episode.

👏🏠🚧 Absolutely inspiring! It's refreshing to see the transparency and honesty in showcasing the initial inspection failures and the subsequent steps to rectify them. This level of vulnerability and willingness to share mistakes not only builds trust but also provides valuable insights for viewers. The dedication to delivering a high-quality modern getaway home is commendable. This video serves as a great learning resource, reminding us that mistakes are opportunities for growth and improvement. Kudos to the team behind this construction project! 🌟🔨🔍

That's that back breaking work 😂. I avoided concrete work and shoveling at all costs. I love the fact that you tried to use all the leftover materials you had. Efficiency and resource saving is key to making money and running a good business. Great work and very professional.

Pro tip, when driving stakes in the ground, keep your palm up. That way if you miss you slap your palm not the back of your hand.👍

A small tip when I was a sprayer over in Scotland and England when I was younger we used to carry a small tip with Vasoline or you might call it petroleum jelly then we would put a small amount around the eyes and the bits you might get overspray and then it comes off no problem whatsoever and you guys have the best airless units they’re are .peace and love from Scotland 👍💪🥃🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I don't know if there was anything structural preventing it, but it would have been spectacular to have wrap-around windows in that jacuzzi extension. It would have an amazing panorama view. Or at least a concave window to make it feel panoramic. Still great as it is.

As an engineer I enjoy the mix of metal work you add into some of your projects. Should grab yourself a air finger file for those curved joins! Saves the arms haha
