Always love seeing more Dead Cells tutorials being made. I wanna add a few tips of my own here: - Those secret parts in the wall that you can ground slam or scratch to reveal gold or food can be hard to spot but you can add an outline color to them to make them easier to see. This can be found in the accessibility settings in the options - Complete 1 daily challenge every day for a few days until you can unlock the Meat Skewer weapon - You don't have to take mutations with the same color as your main scroll stat - Don't worry that the starting weapons you use at the early biomes have different colors since you can buy and upgrade your equipment in the later parts of the run. Choose a scroll color and stick to it, the only time you should choose the scroll that will give you the most health is when you find a dual stat scroll that doesn't contain the color that you want to focus on - Scroll count damage amplification is exponential and not linear: (assuming my weapon has a base 1000 dps and I had 10 scrolls in my weapon color, the total dps would be 1000 multiplied by 1.15 raised to 10 which is over 4000 dps, its not a 150% increase in damage [2500 dps]) You won't need more health if you can kill enemies faster - You don't have to cash in all your cells at the collector every time you finish a biome, you can hit/roll through the door and save your cells so that you can cash them all in at the legendary forge after every boss fight
So fun fact there's a little option that allows you to get more mutations than just 3. If you are a casual player and play Dead Cells for fun (or someone who wants to experiment different playstyles) then turn that option on, choose a number of mutations you think you would need. I personally turn that on, pick YOLO and try to save that 1-up for boss fights.
@@inhalerisinsane Only for some. I cleared the entirety of the prison quarters but that but gate for the blueprint was taunting me. So I said lol no and broke the door.
"Avoiding a single hit from 10 enemies is pretty easy" yikes I've died every single time I've gotten a curse. Sure I technically can kill way more than 10 in a row without taking a hit (otherwise I wouldn't have gotten far in the game) but it's way harder when I suddenly become conscious of having to do that or I lose the run.
Update: I've gotten way better by the way. I now take cursed chests in certain biomes, if I know there are monsters ahead that I can single out and take down one by one (2 by 2 if I'm confident). Haven't died to a chest in a while!
@@jewelsofjuly7377 I meant a long time during my early days with Dead Cells I believe I read "Increases damage against Red Objects" and immediately assumed this I realised my mistake when I saw a Green Arrow on my Green weapons when taking a survivability scroll that the weapon damage was increased
Speaking of Cursed Chests... I do recommend you going to the Forgotten Sepulcher every run as long as you plan on fighting the Time Keeper. The reason why is that there is always at least 1 cursed chest that spawns there. Now, new players immediately think that Forgotten Sepulcher is a scary place due to the Darkness, but it's not that bad when you're talking curses. Q: "Wouldn't the curse kill me if I got Darkness?" A: No, the Darkness can't kill you by a curse. Q: "Would Disengagement save me from Darkness?" A: No. Darkness would not trigger Disengagement.
Thanks for the great vdo's. One thing that would be most helpful for those of us on 1BC would be to understand the terminology of the mutations and weapons, so we can better select the proper mutuation with the proper weapon...I'll provide areas were our group of friends don't quite understand: a. Ice Grenade says 6 sec...does that mean the bomb is active for a full 6 seconds?. It states " -6% damage received " - does that mean while the bomb is active, if we were to receive damage, we would get a decrease in damage by 6%? Biters crawl from the dead - what does this mean? and how does that help us? Upon thawing, the enemy suffers from bleeding - does that me enemies get additional damage ? b. Killer Instinct Mutation - says "Melee kills reduce skill cooldowns by .51 secs. Does that mean if out secondary weapon, say traps takes 10 seconds to recharge, now only takes 9.5 seconds? ... Also, does consecutive melee kills compound the x .51 secs? c. Tranquility - +26 damage if there are no enemies near you. Does this mean any ranged attack , where your enemy is further than say a melee weapon/attach distance, or does the amount of distance need to be greater than that??? Also, does the +26 damage apply to any type of other ranged weapon/non purple weapon? d. counterattack - the attack following a successful parry inflicits +850 damage. Will that apply to any other colored weapon included ranged weapons or 2ndary weapons? What happens if using a weapon and we miss on the first shot or strike?...will we get the +850 extra damage on the 2nd shot/but first connected shot or swing??? e. what does a "red skull x2" mean for a weapon? What does +100% damage taken...mean? f. stunned target - what constitues a stunned target? what would/weapons cause an enemy to be stunned? g. Dodging plants a bomb - would jumping constitute a dodge? or only a slide/roll?? h. if your character has a : red skull x2 above their head...what does that mean? i. Cannot be interruted by an enemys attack - please clarify and give examples to better understand j. Heavy Crossbow - please explain this weapon. It seems that we get the bow and reloader together. But, even without hitting the reload button.......it seems that the bow, every other shot seems to do larger damange (say a critical hit)?....is that correct? If we don't need to reload, but lets say we have a moment so we hit the reload button anyways...will the next shot automatically give us larger damage because we just hit the reload button? k. buring oil vs. cover the ground with inflammable oil? - please explain the difference. does one do damnage and the other is a potential set-up to do damage? L. Seems that the mutations selected - line up visually in each of the script options " brutality, tactics, survival"... but is it fair to say that the mutations will help any of the 3 colors...so a red melee weapon could actually benefit for a purple tactics upgrade/script ??? M. what does a white " 1skull " mean above our character ?
Yes, you should definitely try this game, I believe this is the best roguelike now. You can also check out my video about the best build for newbies :)
this game was difficult though, I think it's more difficult than hades. it's just your hp get depleted quickly and I'm stuck at fighting the armor boss (first boss?).
never mind, I just haven't got used to roll to dodge. my first instinct was to jump to evade attack, when I changed that response into 'roll' I evade enemy attack easily. thanks for the guide !
Me too. Casual player, I use it just to chill after work. Got 2 BC and >400 hrs, and just recently thought - maybe I should start REALLY trying to get the next boss cell. 2 things I heard from all the pros out there - open every cursed chest (I never did that), and do not use the 1 life mutation. Which I always did. So I will change that. Starting today. Cheers!
I disagree with the statement that yolo is bad. When I was at 3bc, I basically only had the starting mutations, and yolo was one of the only good mutations. Also when I beat 4bc and unlocked 5 bc I was using yolo.
Two things, one how do I connect my pc5 controller to the game itself. I’ve got it connected to a couple games but it won’t connect to Dead cells. I don’t have a Bluetooth adapter, so USB is my only option with controller for the time being. 2, on keyboard and mouse…. How the heck do I roll and parry!??
I’m sure deadcells receives a constant flow of data to analyze ‘player movement’(1) to develop the best offensive mods, (1) to create the most dynamic weapons across the updates against those mods, (1) much much more ;)
I'm playing the game with xbox controller but I can't get full vibration. The controller vibrates when they hit the character. No other shaking. How can I fix this?
Guys i am new do Dead Cells cause the Castlevania DLC brought me in, but i just don't know how to save a run, i mean a make a big progress and then i die and starts literally from the first point. Anything i am totally missing?
Nope! That is just how roguelikes work. You get stronger everytime, start over, get stronger, etc. Like the slogan of the game says, “Kill. Die. Learn. Repeat.”
Hey,i have question,is there somehow a way make dead cells work on iOS and android with a keyboard? Is there a way to make the game work with a keyboard and mouse?
Only available after you get its blueprint by defeating the Hand of the King on 1 BSC mode. Replaces your starting equipment with a large room that holds 4 sets of starting equipment. (If you do not have a Random Starting X upgrade, you still get the basic weapon).
If anyone know how to get to the Slumbering Sanctuary without climbing walls (after the stilted village) please tell me! I have all the runes necessary....
*Here is the answer!* : "From the Prisoner’s Quarters, head to the Toxic Sewers (using the Vine Rune) and then into the Ancient Sewers (using the Ram Rune), then from the Ancient Sewers to the Insufferable Crypt."
Mobile plays very well with a controller and there are many different brands/types/prices. From using Bluetooth PS and XBox controllers to controllers made just for hooking to smartphones. I use a Razer Kishi when playing. I'm not "great" at Dead Cells like so many videos I see lol... but I have beaten 5BC, the Collector (Fallen Collector outfit), the Queen. I'm currently playing Boss Rush (just got the Barbarian Boss Knight outfit - 3BC 3rd trial award) and now practicing 5BC 2nd trial trying to get the Luminous outfit. IF you play alot on mobile, I highly recommend getting a controller
It opens after you kill an Elite Mob at the beginning of the Ramparts level. You will customization rune which will unlock custom mode. To get to ramparts follow this route: Prisoners Quarters > Promenade of the Condemned > Ramparts
I hate the "yolo isnt even good" advice these new player guides have. Yeah, if you have a ton of mutations unlocked and all the runes, there will be better mutations to take. As youre trying to get blueprints to the end of a level, or get through a run to get runes, its fine to take a second chance, especially since you might have runs where the mutations available to you dont do anything for your current build. If i have a green sword and a colorless bow, i actually dont need a mutation that gives me bonuses on parries.
i just started playing and got a blueprint for a blood sword , it was dropped from the first enemy that i found after the first portal thing , how do i use it just watched the video , where is the collector
