GoHerping I saw that video rn I’m trying to get a Ball python. Your 100 reasons why snakes make great pets was helpful to convince a bit if I get a ball python I would hope to build him a Bioactive tank I would also like to make a bioactive tank for my Crested Gecko. Awesome Video keep it up :)

Don’t be worried about ordering live plants online! I’ve done it plenty of time and have never had issues. If you need duckweed check out aquarium coop or h2o plants. They will hook you right up 👍🏻

Since my family moved into my current house every summer there is a snake shed on the side of our house. As of last summer it was over 6 1/2 feet! We know as of recent discovery there is more than one!! (We found a much smaller one about 2-3 feet) Oh and I just caught a little baby snake. ( I believe it is a garter snake) I will post pics in the discord

this is kinda unrelated but when i got my first snake from this local pet store in my area the dude helping me said that snake mites weren’t common at all, cage aggression is VERY common AND real, and that the red heat lamp they got me was perfectly fine, so im really glad that i had more resources like you, other than just forums online, to really step up my husbandry game, thanks man

Josh’s Frogs is great for plants. I’ve ordered all of my Vivarium and aquatic plants from there and they all cane very healthy especially the aquatic ones

My eastern box turtles love tomatoes and strawberries for treats. Honestly anything red they go for right away. I think the brightness gets their attention.

Excellent video Alex! You had some great up close footage of all of the animals which I really enjoyed. We raised box turtles growing up and they loved strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe and anything bright colored. Earthworms were also a favorite. What are your thoughts on a bioactive for a Kenyan sand boa?

If you decide to order duckweed online I definitely recommend h2o plants. I've ordered all my plants from them with absolutely no problems at all. The customer service is great and they will not send you anything that isn't up to standards. Good luck!

Leopard geckos are cool and easy to care for as long as you take good care of it, it will be happy but I enjoy crested geckos far more than leopard gecko's.

Make sure you provide some extra humidity for your savannah monitor. A lot of people don't know this but they actually come from pretty humid areas in Africa. They require about 60% humidity on the cooler end and almost 90-100% in burrows, (this can be replicated in a humidity hide). I find it great that you provide bath time for your animal, but it is also really important to provide proper humidity to keep your monitor happy. Savannah's love to burrow so they should be given the opportunity to do that as well. As adults, they need a minimum cage size of 8x4x4. They require very high basking temps going into the upper 130's to low 140's. I have even seen savannahs basking at temps of 160°F. I am sure you already know a lot of this stuff, but I wanted to make sure considering your enclosure looked pretty dry. Savannah monitors are one of the coolest monitors out there and it is a shame so many are sent to homes that don't know how to take care of them, I hope you can make an example for everyone and provide the proper care. BTW most savannah monitors are wild caught, and the ones that aren't are pretty expensive, so it is a fare assumption to assume that yours is wild caught as well.

for the box turtle food, you can occasionally give banana they really like it. my old box turtles really loved cucumber for some added hydration :)

i am going to make new enclosures for my blue tongue and tegu soon out of PVC, the same material that C serpents makes their racks out of. Just an idea if you want to make Olive a larger terrarium

Omg I love Harriet she's so cute!! Idk what you already know about to feed, but mine really likes bananas with her strawberries, & if it were up to her shrimp would be her main protein all the time instead of as a treat. Those r the only three things I've been able to hand feed her and earthworms. I just found out they also really like basil, oregano, rosemary, hibiscus (haven't tried that yet though), chicken & turkey bones are great calcium for them (just gave her some meat from a turkey leg with some ground turkey & veggies that she went crazy for) I haven't tried mushrooms other than what comes in her dry mix but I know they can even eat poisonous ones, I've heard they really like pinkies too but I also haven't been able to try that. Mine is an adult rescue so idk exactly where she came from but I have a feeling she was wild caught because she really likes live food. As for greens I haven't had alot of luck with romaine lettuce but she really likes kale & mustard greens. I've also heard of people having success with them eating planted ferns, clover, & dandelion too. Hope some of that helps.

Check out Aquarium Co-Op for some Duckweed, and if you keep a little in a separate tank it will keep multiplying for you. So what did you rename the Mojave Yellowbelly? He's gorgeous but Gobi is my favorite just because I have a corn with a similar back story and love corns. I'm a new sub and have really been enjoying your videos.

Just a question or two. Is natural spring water good for snakes and would you recommend a Kenyan sand boa as a first snake (my mum doesn't want me to get a snake over 3 feet so it's going to be a male) also is there any other good small starter snakes you know about

You may want to look into a ball python or corn snake as your first snake. Ball pythons will be the most docile. Also some people give their snakes distilled water but I think it’s better to treat the water will purifier (its made special for reptiles and can be bought at pet stores)
