Hi , Good work! Can u address how to set up a chart for the LAST date? Not a date range, buy specifically the last entry in a spreadsheet by date. None of the Looker drop down options address this, and it's a big miss by Google IMO. Thanks
@danalyser I mean the most recent date in a series. The drop down options don't address this in Looker. Sometimes you have a data set, that stopped, say 8 months ago. The options available are today, yesterday, last month, last quarter, last year etc. Nowhere can I see a reliable way of selecting the last, or most recent date , in a series of dates. I suspect a MAX function is needed. The last or latest date in a series is important, because when you have operators which depend on the last piece of data served up, it must have that last date, not an aggregation of dates. Hope that makes sense. You are doing good work!

@@danalyser Thank you so much for responding, it worked! But is there any way we can display 2 values that are selected in the filter (For example: If I select the data for 2022 and 2023, can I display selected values as 2022,2023)
@@PoojaR-tr1pe thank you for letting me know that it worked! yes, you can use CONCAT to combine MIN(field) and MAx(field) :) but the max we could put is 2 values selected :)
One basic question, If I have a normal date range control, how do I reset it to show the entire data range? I can choose dates, last week... but then if I want to go back to all the data I don't know how to do it In principle it is auto data range, but it stays in the last period selected

Is it possible to add comparison for the custom date range? For example, if we create the yearly date range, we would like to compare the 2022 result vs 2021 result?
There is one problem when we go with custom date range. suppose we have a time series chart and showing last month sales and previous period sales but when we take date from custom defined date then previous period graph not showing.
Hi there, you may group the date filter with the rests of the charts except time series chart so the filter doesn't apply to the chart. Hope this helps and if it works, I'd appreciate if you let us know! :)
What if I want the user to have a filter on a dynamic range date like "This Month" or "This week" ? So he can easily see the figures from a view to another. Thx !
@@danalyser Thanks for your swift reply ! However, I would like them to only have a tickbox available like "This month" or "This view" associated with a graph and not go into the date range control which can be not really friendly for a non-experienced user. For now the only solution I found is to create two tab, one with weekly view and one with monthly view and so when the user click on it, goes on the associated view, however, I would prefer to not recharge the entire page each time the user wants to change the view with a simple tickbox. I don't know if I'm clear enough :)

@@PaulWursteisen yeas! I would actually duplicate the page and set the default date range to the ones you mentioned at the page level. You can hide the calendar selector outside of the canvas if you dont want them to click on it. I’m not sure if I explain well enough via text, you inspired me to create a video on this topic!
