Welcome to our final video from beautiful Catalonia. In this one we’ll be taking you on a visit to the abbey of Santes Creus. It’s the last of the big three Cistercian abbeys here in Catalonia and definitely not the least. Its Gothic decorations are marvellous and the history seeped into the walls is visible in every stone. The abbey’s history is rich and tells the tale of an important monastery, especially after it housed the royal pantheon. With its high profile it also gained a lot of meddling from the royals as well, which may be seen as its downfall.
