You described a lot of things in this video that seem like they apply really well to some people I'm close with, including one who is diagnosed with some form of ptsd. My question is: In your experience, are there things that friends can do to help? What are they?

Jacqueline Buettner yeah definitely that’s a great question. Patience is my biggest piece of advice and understanding that we need our space. I’ve lashed out on many friends and pushed them away. I’ve always felt terrible about it but just as a friend approaching them with love and patience as well as not talking anything particularly personally while they’re going through it. I hope that helped!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm also a lesbian with C-PTSD and knowing that there's someone else like that makes me feel understood and less alone. I'm rooting for the both of us (and everybody else who can relate)! We can do this. Love you

First of all, I am so sorry for what happened to you! I am glad that you are doing better. The mama bear in me is so sad that you had to go through any of that. Alas, I hear you, and can relate to so much of this! Not exactly the same of course, but the essence was the same. The worst part is having known that we needed what we weren’t getting - I always felt cursed. 💜💜💜

One of the things that upsets Dr Gabor Mate,it's that a lot of therapists haven't had training or knowledge on traumas, cptsd and PTSD, and a lot of physical illnesses we develop are a direct result of childhood traumas, as we suppress our emotions, our immune system is damaged, resulting on physical damage, rehumatoid arthritis, lupus, ovarian cancer, etc. Please, please do take a look at Dr Gabor Mate, I say this with a lot of love ❤️ it will definitely help a lot of people to get better, who are suffering a lot, we don't have to suffer or be alone on this, there a few genuine people out there, Dr Gabor is one of them, a lot of his videos are free on you tube. 🥰👍🍀🤗💖😘🌎🤲

@@SavonnePearson thank you so much for making this video, I've just watched the whole thing. You're really helping a lot of people. When you said you felt you didn't know how to be a person when you were younger, I completely identify with that! I always felt like I had missed the masterclass of life... I didn't understand how to be. Glad you're working through it and keep up the good content x

I would have liked for you to talk about how you have to think about things consciously where everyone else does it subconsciously I connected to that statement in a weird way and I really connected to what you said about everyone having some kind of inside joke that you are the only one that didn't understand . or even for me idk if youve ever been hanging out overhearing a conversation and it strangely feeling like their talking about you but saying it in a way so that "you dont know its actually about you" when really your just paranoid its like no they're your friends why would they be doing that.... Idk a lot of this video explains things that I felt which I've been trying to figure out for some time now. Like years of trying to love myself enough to even care to figure out whats going on with me..even if no one else does.. so thank you for this video gives a lot of insight at the very least 💖

I would suggest Dr Gabor Mate, there are quite a few of his talks on line,he's one of the leading voices on trauma, and other conditions. A wonderful book is the myth of Normal, it took him 10 years to write. He's helped many people around the world 🌎 It would definitely help a lot of people, please do take a look. One is to learn to say No, when No needs to be said. Don't feel guilty, this is all been passed onto you. Specially black women suffer a lot more, because of racism, discrimination, and for being a woman, as we live in a patriarchal society, still Lots of love ❤️. Dr Gabor helps with dealing with anger. Begin by being compassionate and patience with yourself. Do not condition yourself. You are not any of those behaviour,it's the wound, that's what trauma means, a lot of people who develop d this condition can develop addictions, to feel better, and I don't mean drugs, can be shopping, workaholic, etc. 😘😘😘💖💖💖🤗🍀👍🥰

I always thought the definition of CPTSD also applied to PTSD; like thinking they are interchangeable I really appreciate this video because every time I've tried to figure out what CPTSD is, I could never find anything actually helpful (like in a compact kinda way without having to read pages upon pages) ^-^ (maybe I just never looked hard enough, but whatever xD)
