Hey Beautiful People, Today's video is giving you a high level summary of how I moved into my current position as a compliance analyst, and answering some frequently asked questions.
Thank you. I also learned security on my own. I don't have any certs. I worked for a healthcare company for 11 years n moved over to security for the last 4 years. I am looking for a different job now with a different company. Took a break n resigned last year. Thank you again for being transparent.
I enjoy your videos. Not easy finding engaging compliance job vlogs. My experience is in corporate compliance but I'm slowly building towards a transition to cybersecurity, specifically GRC
@beama451 My situation is similar to yours except my area is Program Analyst, I'm in process of completing a GRC course and studying for the Sec+. Can you share your path to GRC?

Hi Tahyda, I am also a junior compliance analyst that still learning about the industry. Your videos are very helpful and so relatable. I would love to see more videos regarding your compliance career☺Have a great day!

Hi, I'm currently studying for my Compliance certification. What steps did you take for your position? What certifications do you suggest? What's the average salary?
Hi it truly depends on the type of compliance you’re practicing… ex for regulatory compliance it is suggested that you get a CRCM certification however for my current role I focus on healthcare related compliance and a certification was not required… salary also will vary depending on your location as well as the type of compliance
Hello, I do not have a degree, but i like doing data entry, finding flaws in documents and investigations of fraud. How can i get into a position in compliance, and how does someone like me who has zero background land an entry-level job?
Ok so I’m a Fraud Risk Analyst/ Fraud Data Analyst and I’m trying to see what made you transition over to compliance and though you didn’t go to school I don’t recall you mentioning if you have any certs or not? I’m more so interested in PCI DSS compliance are yo able to give pointers on where to begin or what would be an ideal role (since most job titles differ yet the description are the same)
Honestly at the time I was looking for a new employer… and the job description was very similar to what I was doing at the time… at least in regards to the day to day tasks. I applied for the position I have now but was hired as a client relations analyst since they had filled this position right before my interview… a few years later another compliance analyst position opened up and that’s when I got this role… I did have to go through industry specific training when I was first hired in 2019 the compliance role I’m in relies more on that training than any other certs … my employer is very large so in other areas of compliance those departments have listed a CHC, CHPC. (I work for a healthcare company)
Hello… My advice would be to highlight and utilize any analytical skills acquired during your teaching career or in any other work experience you have… while my previous roles were similar it was my ability to analyze and audit data that helped me land and succeed in my current role
@@BeautyandtheKinks I had a similar thought of using assessment data to comply with state standards. Thanks for the input I thought I had to learn something technical.
