Composer Reacts to RISK OF RAIN 2 OST Con Lentitud Poderosa 

Fun fact, if you get the the level with this theme playing and actually just walk through the mega long hallway without speed buffs, the drop actually plays as soon as the tunnel ends

"...con lentitud poderosa" is a fragment from the short story "The Immortal", by argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges. It talks about the curse of having an eternal life.

The composer, described this song as a satellite(as opposed to a sequel) of coloesence because you need the gravity of cololesense to fully apericiate it.

What I love is that Chris was almost "joking" about "Coalescence 2" all up to the moment when this dropped on the RoR2 update, and we all lost it. Literally, "Coalescence 2" but bigger and more soulful. Hope you didn't miss that connection!

Something very interesting about this track is the difference in context between now and when it was first added to the game. The song belongs to the final stage and is meant to lead up to the final boss. That has not changed. The stage itself has. The current state of the stage is a small gauntlet which can either act as a bit of a victory lap or as a wake up call to how incredibly underprepared you are. It's fun, but I don't think that's what the song was intended for. The original state of the stage was a long and empty path with a few turns and scattered debris to keep you occupied. You'd encounter a few enemies on the way to the boss, but the sparsity of them really allowed the player to almost exclusively focus on the music, visuals, and just overall art of the scene. In that original state, it truly made for a beautiful and solemn moment for any player that had the opportunity to experience it. By contrasting with the constant fighting for survival leading up to this moment, I believe this song found a way to unexpectedly make many players emotionally vulnerable to possibly even the point of getting misty eyed or even crying.

The Risk of Rain 2 OST is just phenomenal. Those guitars are just... so yummy. The Survivors of the Void DLC brings even more great music to the already fantastic soundtrack, you should give it a listen. My favorite tracks are titled "The Face of the Deep" and "Having Fallen, It Was Blood"

You can tell chris put his heart and soul into this song, I didn't even play ror2 until it was fully released but this song still gave me chills and made me emotional. With how he used the song drops in his video to go in line with the transitions showing the updates over the years with the game, and the call back to the original song from the original game that this song is based off of (coalescence), If I was with this game since ror1 I have no doubt I would've been crying my eyes out once hearing this emotionally charged beauty of a song with the backstory on top. Truly an unforgettable song with such a rich history. I never truly appreciated music until hearing it.

The song alone doesn’t capture the moment you get to the last level and all you see. Is this vast open space of nothing but a few robots and a few buildings the song portrays it perfectly. There is nothing but vast space getting to the final level and hearing it play was rewarding. But this is not the final song there is one more the boss song. And it fits the boss perfectly your gonna need a bigger ukulele.

Risk of Rain 2 has such a good OST! To play the game and hear the soundtracks is amazing.

Now that you mention YES, one of their songs is actually the ending to jojo's part 1 and 2! I know you've started jojo but I'm not sure if you've reacted to the endings yet, if you haven't you should try because they are very iconic, especially the first!

Hell yeah! I love this track, that solo at the end got me feeling all kinds of ways. Love it when the music can just take you places. The nods to Coalescence are nice too. Anyway… day 93 of requesting House of Sacred Remains from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence. Beautifully atmospheric track and one of my fave's from video games in general. It'd be awesome to hear what you think of it. It's the theme of a level set starting from a cathedral and ending in the crypts through lots of library areas, it's not a particularly significant or infamous level at all but I think the track really reflects the hallowed grounds housing sacred relics beautifully. The 4 minute upload from the Castlevania Sound Team is the one to listen to.

I often end up on little reaction rabbit hole sessions and my god is it good to see Chris's music getting some love haha He knocked it out of the park with this soundtrack

If you want to react to something heavier, I highly recommend "Double Fucking Rainbow" by Chris Christodoulou. It is, by far, my favorite heavy metal song.

The slow burn all the way up to that eyebrow singeing guitar solo never fails to give me chills! And some of the drum fills are just phenomenal!

Not sure if you still take requests, but the DLC for Risk of Rain 2 has a song called, Once In a Lullaby that is really good.

A better word would be continuity to describe the connection between the first and the second half of the song Also great vid!!!

Ok... I didn't listen to the whole song(I prefer to do that on my own), But it's really unique. I almost brushed it off, Thinking it was just a relaxing ambience theme, But man, Was I wrong. What a pleasent surprise.

While I don't really feel as if you might see this I seriously need to recommend, Ashes to Ashes (to Ashes) By Chris. It's one of the songs he made for the game deadbolt. one of his older ones but IMO the best one in that entire soundtrack

This song gets infinitely better when you're playing Risk of Rain 2 after playing Risk of Rain 1.
