Composite vs Aluminum Alloy Baseball Bats: Which Is More Effective? 

My son is 12. Swings the marrucci cat 9 the bbcor drop 3 alloy 28oz. The bat is hot right out the gate. I've bought tons of bats as he's grown. Dirty south bats, cF-zen,. Easton mako,. The 5150 and the quattro bat... All in the past and never noticed anything that was like "whoa". But this Marucci cat alloy is WILD to say the least. ... Now a kid on his team swung the identical paint scheme marrucci both gives are very ideal in weight and seasoned players ... He swings his marrucci cat 9 alloy and the kid on the team swung a marrucci cat 9 composite two piece version. And it's night and day. Alloy cracks harder and sounds so gnarly it grabs everyone's attention.... Now realistically the composite is the big dawg. Not arguing that. But what I will say is,. If you buy the bat and just use it for the season is it worth it???? It won't be broken in to see what it's max performance is & by the next year you out grow the bat ... Unless you buy it several months before the season and get nearly 120+ swings with it... Might as well get alloy and crack the ball as early as draft day !! ... Hey just an opinion from a dad that spent a lot of money on composites in the past..... Now the real deal breaker here and the main separation from both I will say it .. hand stinging,. Alloy will rattle your hands so the shots can come with a price Is u are reaching for a pitch.. the 2 piece composite is sooooo forgiving on the hands so that in some cases is a deal breaker for others ...
