I really rarely comment but my friend convinced me yesterday to try this game out, i wanted to inform myself in advance and i have to say your guide is really well done, I like your way of going through the steps and explaining them. Thank you and god job!
30 mins for pets and 45 for horses and up to an hour max for thralls is so much better at least you don't have to leave the game running for a day on single player if you leave it at default settings
Daaaaaaaaayum, nearly 5k hours in the game and I never thought to use a hatchet on branches on the ground! I came here to learn about Age of War stuff but I actually learned some basics! I'm impressed.
Did they patch it?, cause I tried this on PS5 and nothing, same on Xbox... also did you get all the Chest Resources in one night? or was it 2-3 days after?
Perfect timing! as an older gamer with 4 sons, I have been looking for another adventure game I can play with my sons. I stumbled across your 2022 Video Series for Beginners last night, and I just saw that you updated for 2023 today! Excellent timing. From one older gamer to another, thank you sir. 🖖
Im 57 and have 2 sons in their early 20's and it's great gaming with them. we have played diablo 4 recently with each other, but really played destiny 2, the division and Final Fantasy. its pretty awesome.
These are the settings I like to use when I play solo. I like spending less time Building/Repairing/Remaking/Refriending and more time exploring. This also prevents me from being overencumbered so much which means I can spend a bit more time exploring so I find these settings to be nice for me while also keeping the game experience relatively normal. General - No Changes Progression - No Changes Day/Night - No Changes Survival - No Changes Combat - No Changes Harvesting - Resource Respawn = 3.0 Crafting - Crafting Time = .50 - Thrall Craft Time = .20 - Crafting Cost Multiplier =.50 Abandonment - Allow Building Anywhere (This doesn't allow you to build literally anywhere) - Disable Thrall Decay Chat - No Changes Purge - Purge Meter Trigger = 22,000 Pet and Hunger - Animal Pen Crafting = .20 - Food Container Range = 3.0 Malestrom (DLC)
Hey man I rly appreciate how in-depth you are in this series compared to your others, especially right at the start. I was watching your 3.0 Let's Play series from around 9 months ago, and the start in this one is definitely way better in terms of how you're really trying to teach us a lot about the game. In the last series, I didn't really pick it up a whole lot until around the second episode. I can tell you got a new microphone too lol. Thank you for the awesome vid! I'll try to keep up with it :p
Thank mate. Didn't want to go too in-depth on the 3.0 series as a lot was duplication from the original Beginner's Guide. But think there is enough changes since then to have another proper guide.
This is awesome. I was watching your old series, but burned myself out trying to build a massive pyramid. Signed into RU-vid this evening, and this is the #1 recommended video. Installing on my Series X now.
So excited for this series, Angaar! Your Beginner's Guide from a couple of years ago is what started me watching your channel. You always do a wonderful job explaining the game and are able to keep it interesting as well. Keep up the great work!
Hi Angaar. Great to see you're making a new Beginner's guide for Age of War. Your first guide helped so much when I played Conan as a complete noob! LOL Looking forward to see what little gems of wisdom you pass on to us RU-vid Thralls! 😂

I just downloaded this game. I know I know....I'm late as hell, but I just found it so it's new to me...really excited to play with my buddies. Been a Conan fan since 1993
Not played this game in over a year so thought I'd check out a beginner guide to see any changes...A very good beginner guide, nice simple clear guide with without waffle. Thanks.
I just jumped back in after a while, never got too far or in depth myself Just had a moment where i LOL'd while making my character, looking at her list of crimes and seeing "MISHANDLING OF COCKS" as the third charge xD
For corrupted shaleback, build a shack. Build stairs to the roof. Run into the shack. Wait for it to get on the roof. Inch out the door. It will stand right above you. Arrow away!
Thank you! Followed your 2022 guide. Then took a long break and when I come back, there is a new up to date guide series waiting for me. I appreciate these so much!
I got it today and played it all day cuz of how fun it was. So many new things and I loved it so much. I ain’t get far tho I was too busy tryna not die and get a house going
Yay!!! Definitely a two pint day. I just downloaded the game on PC vs. Xbox so it'll be a whole new learning curve. I'm looking forward to exploring the mods and assets. I've about lost count of all the times I've watched your restarts. I learn something with every video. Thanks for all you do.
Man I'm SUPER SUPER MAD. All my warrior followers, all my specialized dragon bone armor and weapons they had, all the training I did with them. All the animals I had even mounts they are all gone if they weren't in the pens WHAT THE HELL GMs. That's INCREDIBLY UNCOOL
@@AngaarUK it may just be a console thing. But nevertheless it's extremely irritating. I had spent so much time farming those bones from dragons. The thralls I had my 2 top ones were bought from the slave traders now I gotta go way up north to get them again provided they are still in game and I have to grind them up and go after the arena again. I almost had it once but I bounced as I almost died
Recently discovered this game with my friend absolutely loving it so far being able to climb everything is perfect instead of having to run round the entire map saves so much time!
@@AngaarUK my favourite feature in the game so far! It’s like the Assassins creed Eagle dive doing it off a cliff is the funniest thing ever! We found the Giant Crocodile last night and I eagle dived off the pillar onto him thinking I can take him with my spear and he just finished me 🤣
Always, ALWAYS place down a bedroll before you want to attack something or before you go into a dangerous area, it sucks to run across the whole map to get back to where you died, lol
Hello. I just started playing this game. Of course I'm no stranger to this type of games. I just want to say, thanks for sharing these guides. It really helps a lot.
I noticed something about the non-hostile Shalebacks: If you attack one, sometimes any nearby ones pile in as well - especially the two you pointed out as non hostile at the 22:39 mark.
good to see you are still active making content for this game. Now that I finaly have a next gen console I can finaly play this game again and enjoy it. I be watching the entire series 🙂
I just started Conan and have been following your guide which i find very helpful and informative I just had a strange bug I had started one and then saved the file to desktop to play later. My char i was following with you was level 30 and i was just going to get my foal lol and it erased me and put my old file from the desk top back in without me ever doing anything . So back to phase one and a new character. Thanks for providing these guides it makes playing the game so much more fun and I don't feel totally lost.
Thanks bruv, i just freshly dowloaded 100gb lastest version of conan exiles age of war, and im kinda confused. Thanks to your video i can start single player without any questions :) ! Its always good to watch a guide like this and then after 30 hours of game play dont regret your early choices :)
Hats off to you my mate, this is like the 100th time I've seen you restart 😂. I personally love the early to mid game. Once I get to Lvl60 GOD status I usually start again and look for another server. Really love your content. Keep up the great work 👍.
aayyy matey!! so glad to hear your voice again!! started playing the game again after a years break and just remembered you and put this series on while I play!! funny thing happened today, I found a bow of the grey ones on loot chest in one of the small camps near new asagarth in exiled lands, since when that has been a thing? anyway, time to binge this series while I play!!
Hey! Just want to say thank you for the uploads. I got into the game recently, exclusively playing single player PvE, lots of trial and error and dying about in the first couple attempts (no real experience in this genre). After a couple restarts, adjusted the server settings to what a commenter suggested here, halved crafting resource requirement are a gamechanger, and now following along with your videos I'm having an absolute blast. Went to build in the same spot next to Sepemaru and am currently about to delve into sorcery along with your episode on it! I'm not following your playthrough exactly, but I'm using it as the red guiding line to get places. Exploring a lot! A lot of 'Oh crap' moments haha. Anyway, just wanted to leave you a thank you! The guide has been super helpful to get the hang of it all. Really enjoying the feel of this game! I tried ARK before, but never could get into it.
You mentioned starting out by putting your points into Grit but I think Vitality is better to start with getting to 5 right away. The reason has to do with resource management. The resource being your stamina and health. Stamina recovers quickly so a few more points doesn't help that much so long as you don't spam actions willy nilly. Health is far more important to increase because it lets you survive more hits as well as things like fall damage. But more importantly it doesnt passively recover out the gate. It only does at 5 points. The regeneration isnt fast but its better than not at all. Also it saves you resources spent on health recovery items like bandages and aloe potions. You can use that fiber on other things early on and you wont have to rush getting making aloe potions unlocked freeing up points early on for other things. Anyways just my thought process as ive had no issues with stamina at 0 investment into grit.
No problem, the great thing about Conan is everyone can play their own way 😎 I prefer the wee bit extra stamina pool after the AoW nerf, but no problem if you prefer vitality. To be fair you get to level 10 so quick that you can easily have both!
@@AngaarUK Yeah it is a little overwhelming at first how quickly you level up in the beginning. I know I felt I needed everything right away but so long as you play carefully you really don't.
As an Ark Survival Evolved player this all seems pretty similar. I just saw this game on PC game pass so I think I'll give it a shot. This is a really well made video, thanks for the tips.
Another tip is select yog for your religion and build the alter as soon as you comfortably can human enemies aren’t that difficult to kill so your getting food and religion points at the same time use the other perishable food items to feed your thralls so they don’t get wasted use grull to tame thralls and as an emergency thrall food also equip your thralls with the absolute best stuff you can spare. On mine I’m heading back to my base to upgrade my thrall’s armor now. Other than that always have a ranged attack option
Just downloaded the game today, looked up a guide to get into it and just found your channel. Keep up the great work, maybe set up a Playlist for this series. Can't wait to follow along. 😊
This is indeed.. Perfect timing! Just bought the game and playing for the first time, very very nice to see an updated starter vid! I have watched absolutely nothing so it's nice to see thing's i should be doing etc haha!
Excellent, thanks for the new start guide. I'm going to be busy with both games I play regularly; Connan and 7 Days to Die have both just released updates. Plus, I haven't finished my Isle of Siptah playthrough. Maybe I will use Siptah to blast through the battle pass and start a new playthrough on the Exile lands.
So happy I found your channel. I'm trying Conan for the first time and love that I can watch a channel like yours to help me through. you're awesome.i subscribed
i know i am late to the party just watched the video and i learned some new tricks i didn't even know thank you for showing me how to be a better player keep up the good work
I played this game when it released, we ran a clan on 3606 for over a year straight and the game was sweet. Sadly we know the politics routine, every empire falls eventually but ours went out with a whimper back then and I haven’t played since. Really looking forward to getting back into this game, seems like much has changed and this makes it a little less overwhelming.
I just got into this game yesterday and it was so confusing and the tutorial was terrible so I had to go to RU-vid. I’m so happy I did and found your tutorial because you are amazing!!! I would have never figured this out! 😂 Thanks bro!!!
Good restart Angaar, 1 thing; When you are making something and one of the components has the Gear icon, you don't need to make separately, you just make the item and it will Auto-Make if you have the resources play on Official and with a T4 Taskmaster a T4 Blacksmith took like 25 min. Low level should be very fast
Perfect timing!! I remember the older guide from a year ago and thought this would never come so i deleted the game but now that you are doing this ill have to reinstall since ive been looking for something to do.
One thing i do find handy is having healing pots re-mapped on to a thumb button on your mouse, saves having to move your hand from the keyboard. Same goes with block and dodge if you have enough thumb buttons (I dont now ive killed my gaming mouse 😡)
Might grab this game on PC. I played it on PS4 a long while ago, and the DLC weapons and armor I remember having inferior stats compared to the base game versions of the same tier. If that's still the case, I might have to give it a pass. Thanks for the video, though. I definitely learned a lot from this!
Another comment I have is many times (not just your videos, many I have seen), the map flashes up and I can't really tell where you are. The marker is (to me) a bit hard to see. So if the map comes up and goes away to fast I can't even see where we are. Same happens with your mouse when you say "we want to go around here", it is so tiny. I would recommend to show the map and then zoom in a some so we can get a better sense of where you are in it. Just comments, great series as always.
Conan Exiles needs to up the amount of thralls can follow you. May as well go full Bannerlord, if purges are going to be updated, and sieges are going to be involved.
Once you level up Authority to max you can have a 2nd Follower with you. You can have loads of thralls guarding your base, but going to be interesting when Chapter 3 comes along and we have to head out to siege their base. Going to need a method to move our army then!
So im just popping in to say how much ive enjoyed your older series. Im still going through that one and cant stop watching. Excited to see theres a brand new one waiting for me when i finish that.
The quickest way to learn, for me, was joining PvP servers (with my friends) Couldn't fight enemy clans unless you got the good stuff, but it's been a while since I last played. Everyone had the Black Dragon Pike in PvP lol
Wow! I didn't realise that if you lost too much stamina it regenerated slower! Always good to see new videos from you - especially when I learn something new (even if it was [probably obvious lol)
Just got exiles yesterday. Im a modded ark player. This game is refreshing. Love the actual combat system in the stead of swing, swing, swing!! I kind of wish there was dangers in the water. Edit- should i play on cenematic or ultra? I have a 13th gen I9 processor, 32 gigs of ram, and an nvidia 3070. I game on the highest settings btw Edit edit- i only got the base game. What if any dlcs should i get. I eventually want to get them all. 150.00 dollars for the ult edition is a bit much right before xmas
Nice one. Yeah far better combat but it is a bit weird that the water is a "safe place", I mean crocs that can't swim!!! With it being a older game you should be able to run it on the higher settings. Just go with the highest that gives you decent frames. As for DLC's, well they are all essentially cosmetic building, armour and weapon sets, so just go for the ones that you prefer the look of... and get them in the various Steam sales! My favourites are the Isle of Siptah for the Stormglass and Flotsam building sets and People of the Dragon for the Nemedian castle style building sets.
While it is essentially a sandbox/survival game that you can do whatever you want, there is a loose story/quest that appears from the staff you get from completing the first dungeon. You will see this later in the series
Something I feel that should be mentioned is when you admin your way to 60, and decide to reset your level to zero, it should be known that you gain a free attribute point when you first enter the server with a new character. If you decide to bring your level down by any means, that character will forever have a maximum of 59 attribute points. You will need to recreate your character to for that attribute point.
