@@arpitakodagu9854 I'm sorry Id have to disagree, Roger Moore was really witty and smart but I think Pierce was the most charming and the man with the most sex appeal outta all the BONDS hands down. I mean just look at him!!👀👀
agreed, the Brosnan era of Bond continues to hold up imo close runner up for me is Timothy Dalton, even though Dalton's run as Bond was short with only two films, i feel like his impact on the role is often ignored or forgetten or underrated
@@Dash120z yes exactly, when i saw your orginal comment of the thread above, i came into thread to say what you just mentioned earlier about Casino Royale ^_^
OH noooo one wanted Pierce to go and its completley false that everyone thought he was too old for the part at this time. thats not true at all. although weather it would be with quientin tarrintino (most likley no) or not, casino royale was not on the cards for Brosnans 5th film. the producers certanly took the idea from tarrintino (they got the rights back in 1999 when MGM sold spiderman to columbia at the time) and went with it as soon as possible as most likley they didnt want another kevin mclory case situation like in the early 90's
Yes, he still looked good by that time. It would have been really awesome if he stared in fifth Bond film in 2004, which would be more realistic and gritty, but kept the classic Bond style at the same time. I guess, this easily could be something like FYEO was after Moonraker. I think, EON could separate their powers to shoot final Brosnan realistic Bond outing in 2004, and release it in 2005. And by the same time they could try to find a sucessor for Brosnan, and cast Craig, and start pre-production of Casino Royale. At this case, we could see Brosnan's final awesome film, which could reach the level of his first 3 films. What is more, this fifth film could be a suitable bridge for Craig's brutal depiction of 007 and realstic style of storytelling. Audience could be more prepared for the up coming changes, so EON wouldn't lose anything with further strategy. CR even would be released at the same time, it originally was. Talking about suitable story for Brosnan's final breakthrough, I think, they easily could shoot a film Everything or nothing, with more gritty aproach. WIlliam Dafoe would be more iconic villain, than Toby Steven's. So, yeah, unreleased Brosnan's fifth film is the same important mistake in Bond history, just like unshooted gritty follow up of Diamonds are forever with Lazenby, or A view to a kill with Dalton.
He also worked with Denise Richards, Jessica Alba, Milla Jovovich, Linda Hamilton, René Russo, Michelle Yeoh, Famke Janssen, Amanda Seyfried, Sophie Marceau, Julianne moore. Some of the hottest women of all time
This is so weird they had met before in 97 when brosnan appeared on conan's show smoking a cigar and acting like a twat, and they literally made the same coments and jokes. Like talking about where in Ireland they're from, And then in the first interview, Conan marvels at brosnan getting a free BMW, and jokes that he gets free socks from the deli. 7 years later and he's marveling at Brosnan getting a free Aston Martin and joking he gets free starburst from the deli. It's like they're reusing a slightly modifed version of the same script from their first interview
Can´t understand Brosnan claiming to have never heard of Dungarvan, even allowing for the fact that he emigrated at age 11. It´s very well known among summer holiday-makers within Ireland. Visibly took the wind out of Conan´s sails.
@@seanstewart6893 also the Bond franchise was in a lot of competition with other movies, they desperately needed a reboot. It wasn't Pierce's fault at all, mainly to the producers and writers were to blame... Movie Fanatic here 🍿🎥
TWO CLASSIC VERSIONS of the IRISH genetics, Conan is high Viking mix, Brosnan is Ancient Scythian migrated 'black' Irish from the regions of Turkey into North of persia Caucus plains his fucking sexy hairy beast ness comes from that and why they tapped him to play Italians at time..
Wrong....The red hair gene was in Ireland long before any Vikings came here. Conan is 100% Irish according to his DNA results. Ireland has the second highest levels of red hair in the world, behind Scotland. Both Celtic nations and both not in Scandanavia.
@@jimbobjimjim6500 I have forgotten about this post but I have read recent DNA that says the red hair & freckles were brought into the Viking/Scandinavian genes by the Celts they mixed with & after trading & invasions. so you are correct. But the 'celtic' people were varied considered more a common culture of groups/tribes. But Conan even jokes his 100% Irish comes from the small group of immigrated region of his family inter breeding.
You found the right word for what I am feeling too. Honoustly this host is not creating a depth interview and Pierce trying to meet the expectation being funny and as if he is a man who is always after the women, what he really does not do in real life, is actually a serious man. So we see conflictive energy here.
Honestly you too are weird..there is nothing awkward about this interview. It was all fun...and you don't refer the the great Conan as "this host"... He is the greatest host of all time..he the best in the business!
I don't think there is anything wrong with Brosnan or Conan. It is just a bit of a clash of styles. Pearce has a slower laid back speaking style which is better suited to long form interviews. Conan is a quick witted high energy funny man who suits short and sharp bursts. Pearce is kind of struggling to keep up with Conan here. They are both good, this is just a kind of awkward interview.
He was forced out of the franchise. He wanted to do more, and was in negotiations to make 1 more, but the producers wanted to pay a new guy less money. The ratings for the last 2 bonds were also low, and Brosnan remains the ONLY Bond who didn't get to chose their exit from the role. Even 1 and done Lazenby chose to not make more, but it was his choice. All of this info is in the official Bond 50th anniv special documentary.
@@THEChancell0r1 If you watch half of TND, and completely watch TWINE and DAD. He looks completely the same with little to no real aging. Daniel Craig significantly aged between QOS and Skyfall as well as Spectre and No Time to Die. Sean Connery looked the same from Dr. No to YOLT. He was looking old in DAF.
No, Casino Royale was actually originally written with him in mind, but then negotiations fell through while he was filming a movie in 2003. They decided to reboot to compete against the newer action movies, such as the Bourne franchise. Also, it was Cubby Broccoli who'd originally hired Brosnan, and there is a belief that Barbara Broccoli didn't want to continue with him. There are various opinions as to why; they wanted to go younger and he wanted to much creative control/money being the top theories. He'd been having issues with the scripts and casting since Tomorrow Never Dies, but they never gave him any say. It's a shame, because he could have done more with the character, especially with better directors. Martin Campbell was the only good director he ever had. He's been successful outside of Bond when he has good directors working with him.
@@THEChancell0r1 Well that is not fully true. Ironically enough, Timothy Dalton, (the man who played James Bond in two movies before Pierce Brosnan) was also let go from playing Jamss Bond. (Although Timothy's contract ended due to lawsuits from another issue from the franchise, and not because the producer wanted somebody different.) Pierce Brosnan's first James Bond movie was actually suppose to be Timothy Dalton's third, but after a long hiatus due to the lawsuit, Timothy decided that he did not want to go back to playing James Bond multiple more times, so he Then decided not to return to the role. I just re-read your comment, and it seems that I initially misunderstood what you were stating. I apologize for that, but in a way Timothy also did not get to decide his exit from the role.
Isn´t he always the same with all of his guests ? The guy doesn´t know how to interview, just uses the guests as a convenient prop to show off how funny he (thinks) he is. Forgets that the guest is supposed to have the starring role. Seems to think it´s a competition to say the funniest line as opposed to be an opportunity to allow us to get to now the guest. Very shallow.
Nah after the travesty of the awful and worst bond film of all time die another day brosnan had to go! For the best bond film of all time ON HER MAJESTYS SECRET SERVICE BEATS THE LOT WITH THE BRILLIANT GEORGE LAZENBY.
@@THE-WAY_THE-TRUTH_THE-LIFE. why would i give a fuck what you think! Die another day is utter shite, ON HER MAJESTYS SECRET SERVICE is class from beginning to end
Actually, Die Another Day was the final film Pierce Brosnan can do because he looked pretty old and unfit for the role of 007. As comparing with his first outing as 007, he wasn't looking handsome and smooth enough. I don't call this movie as the worst of his but he didn't perform quite well as expected.
