I'm also a Canik man myself. I also carry the TP9 SF Elite. I got my holster from Werkz and it is a very sturdy and well thought out device. With anyone who carries, education is power. Do not pull your weapon unless the situation dictates your actions. We aware of the laws in your state before committing yourself to carry.

Being a smaller dude myself (5'8-1/2" 165 Lbs.), my comfortable 9mm EDCs are in order: Ruger Max-9, CZ P 10 C, Glock 43, Canik TP9 Elite SC (Nothing against Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer, FN, Springfield...a person just cannot own them all...) For each I have a standard Kydex holster, a versatile Sticky Holster and also a nylon holster with the side car for an extra mag. They all work depending on my wardrobe, the season (hot or cold), where I am headed, etc. I carry in the 6 o'clock position on the belt loop so being right-handed, I buy left-handed holsters. Good video, guys!

Although I don’t think open carry should be illegal, it’s flat out the dumbest and most dangerous way and makes you an instant liability. You are instantly the center of attention, and being the center of attention during an attack is pretty much a fast track to the grave. Save open carry for the woods and the range.

One of the best piece of advice I got from a conceal carry class was "...when you carry a gun, you should consider a life style and wardrobe change". What the instructor meant was by carrying a gun, certain places are LEGALLY OFF LIMITS; by law you are not allowed to carry a gun into a bar or in a hospital concealed or open carry. As these guys discussed, conceal carry keeps you from being "targeted" by a bad or good guy. You have to figure out a way to carry or hide your gun COMFORTABLEY in such a way that no one knows you have a gun. Business owners can ask or demand you to leave the property; if you do not, they can call the law. These videos are good to listen to as "refresher" classes.

Once again, great practical advice. Really enjoying your videos. Fundamentals always. Be able to get your gun out, present, and place an accurate round start slowly and become fast as you get better. If you can’t shoot close and accurate, you can’t shoot far (reference to your other videos). Doing this makes you consistent. The first round is the one that counts. You don’t get to warm up. Our goal when training is two rounds hammered pairs on target in under two seconds. Then under .5 seconds for target transition. People who are serious about this should really try to get to a range where you can draw from holster and actually fire the gun when you are safe to do so. Doing this with timer when you have actual bullets going off is a whole other level.

When I started carrying, I was using the off body carry technique. As I learned more and became more proficient, I started having holsters custom made at the gun range I'm a member of. Kydex is the style I prefer. My EDC rotation begins with Arex Rex Zero 2 and includes HK P30L, Beretta APX A1, Walther PPQ .45 and Glock 22. Fundamentals are very important. Just subscribed on the second video of yours I’ve watched. Really like your content and how you demonstrate and talk through processes. There is definitely a time and a place where open carry could be more advantageous. I’ve done both over the past two plus decades. Even when I was shooting competitions years ago some areas or localities I traveled through concealed carry keeps unwanted eyes and attention off of you. Another time when I open carry on my hip is while doing yard work or out in the woods. Will be checking out more of your videos man. Great job so far.

Great video and great information. As for holsters people need to know about belly band holsters they feel good and they are comfortable some of them have a pouch where the pistol is inserted that's open at the bottom and the barrel sticks through. I have one of those that I no longer use because I noticed that whenever I draw my weapon the front sight catches on the pouch. In a life and death situation that belly band holster is useless. If people still like the belly band holster they should make sure that the pouch that holds the pistol don't have an opening at the bottom for the barrel and front sight to stick out.

Alston looking like a proud father lol. I got a Springfield XDs 3.3 as my first gun, I bought it used with some ammo and a holster for like $523 tax included. I can put a sight or a light on it if I want, but I live in mass which has awful laws so I can only have 10 rounds in it but I bought an extra mag. One of these days I'm going to purchase a better holster because I got one the store itself makes and sells and it's not comfortable at all, it's a good holster just uncomfortable but it's kydex, it covers the trigger and allows it to be holstered with a sight but it has no room for a light. I want to get something more comfortable because I have to conceal carry in my state. I'm going to get something that allows attachments and that I can put my extra mag on too because like you guys said if I need more than 19 rounds I did something wrong.

Yes! I have a Canik TP9SF Elite. Excellent gun! My main carries are Glock 19x, IWI Masada, Glock 22, Canik TP9SF Elite, P80/Glock 31. I prefer a more full sized pistol, because of my big hands. Appendix is the way to go to comfortably carry full size pistols. What I learned from concealed carry it’s all about the holster. My favorite are the Orpaz holsters with the retention switch. Your gun stays locked and safe until you push that thumb switch. The switch releases the gun right into your hand.

Great video. Personally, for me at 135-140 lbs 5'8"(little guy). My edc is a p365xl w/17 rnd x macro mag (×2) with light and rds. I use a t1c side car holster, and I do NOT print 1 bit. I have known people for a long time, and they had NO clue I carried until I wanted them to know. There's no such thing as spending to much on a quality holster. Don't buy trash. Trust your weapon, know your weapon and, practice practice practice!!!

I just got a Canik and I do appreciate the fact it came with a holster.
