Per esempio, "A quel tempo credevo che mio figlio si sarebbe laureato nel 2024." : nella situazione che dico così un giorno nel 2023, mi domando se non sia corretto usare il futuro semplice "si laureerà" al posto del condizionale passato nella frase subordinata...

Ciao! No, nell’esempio che hai dato non è possibile usare il futuro semplice, perché è proprio un classico esempio di futuro nel passato. Nel 2023 dici: “Credo che mio figlio si laureerà nel 2024!”. Nel 2025 dici: “Nel 2023 credevo che mio figlio si sarebbe laureato nel 2024 (probabilmente però non è andata a buon fine).” Se usi il futuro nel passato è anche perché l’azione non è avvenuta poi per un motivo o per un altro!

Adoro tutti i video, Lucrezia! Ho una domanda: è possibile usare un verbo al presente con il congiuntivo imperfetto? Ad esempio- penso che fosse triste ?? Quando ho imparato la concordanza dei tempi verbali, ho imparato che le regole sono fissi. Con un verbo nel presente che richiede il congiuntivo, l’uniche opzioni sono il congiuntivo presente o il congiuntivo passato (Penso che lei sia triste o Penso che lei sia stata triste). È anche possibile usare il congiuntivo imperfetto?

A great lesson as usual. I have followed you for many years and I wonder if I might ask you a question. I find myself at odds with many Italian "teachers" on RU-vid who advocate NOT learning grammar. As you are a teacher who focusses on the use of grammar a lot, can I ask you how this is even possible? How can one learn a language and ignore the grammar rules? To me it seems not only ridiculous, but also impossible. And yet, there are so many on RU-vid saying that grammar rules actually obstruct a person from learning a language easily. This can't be true, surely, can it?

Thank you, Dave! I very much agree with you and I’ve had such discussions in the past. I don’t think a lot of ”teachers” on RU-vid are even trained to do so. They think that if they say that grammar is useless they’ll make it easier for students who listen to them, but it’s actually the opposite result on the long run. I’ve received messages in the past from students saying that they followed this “advice” at the beginning, only for them to realise that it was bad when it was too late. When you go forward grammar becomes more complicated and if you’re not used to reflect on it, it gets very difficult and you get stuck with a few words of vocabulary. I really do not understand why someone would say that grammar is useless when it’s the key to understanding a language, it’s the base, the foundation. Vocabulary is useful, but it’s something you add on to the structure. But I’m confident that students/viewers, sooner or later, understand the importance of studying grammar.

@@lucreziaoddone Thank you for sharing your opinion about this, I agree with you and Dave. I've also noticed that pretty much every channel that's been around for a while and initially advocated an approach with zero grammar, ends up eventually incorporating some grammar lessons on their channel and podcast! I'm sure they receive messages from their viewers too who followed their advice to ignore the grammar and weren't seeing the progress they wanted to. Understanding grammar is so important and allows you to be creative with the language. I appreciate your channel so much for the high-quality grammar lessons!

L’unica differenza sta nel tempi verbale: uno è congiuntivo presente (venga) e l’altro è futuro semplice indicativo (verrà). Per esprimere un’azione futura si equivalgono in questo caso!

Nel significato sì, ma nella struttura no, perché non c’è un verbo (sono come “secondo me”)! Per esempio: “A mio giudizio / Secondo me, questo è un buon film”. (Penso che sia un buon film).
