Heathrow used to have a battery charging facility because people would get back home from their holidays to find a flat battery due to their car alarms going off every day due to Concorde taking off!!
I love the Concorde for what it could achieve, but efficiency is the responsible and mature path for the future of our species. I don't think it's worth reminiscing too much.
@@WouterTVLook at the climate of Venus, and it has no life polluting it. The planet has cycles and even if we stop wrecking ours it will wreck itself. I mean the next ice age is coming no matter what we do.
Concorde was actually destined to fly well beyond 2003 possibly even into 2017 or 18 . There was a time when they were thinking of digitalising the flight deck but they didn't due to the fact that the anolauge was working well enough
Just love the way all the car brake lights come on as the drivers stop to look at her. She was the only aircraft that could do that and it never, ever got old.
This is the best Concorde video I have ever seen. A lightweight, sporty takeoff with thunderous sound. Just beautiful. We will never see her like again.
Great vid - brings back better times That was empty - but even so - flew her (3) diff times - and the earth shook & it was so fast & LOUD w/ add to the thrill if watching Windsor castle go into a dot & smell of burning in the narrow cabin - with afterburners lite Great times to remember- thx 4 this !!!!
Beautiful Never to be seen again, and do You know what, as You drive into Heathrow now just before The Tunnel Guess What We've Got stuck there, A Poxy Emirates A380 ? Makes You Proud to be British ??????????????????
Hermoso 🤩!
An airplane like that needed to make music with its afterburners. So the car alarms go off. Oh well, big deal. The world got longer when she went forever to sleep. So sad. Still nearly 20 years after her last flight, still very impressive.
Fantastic video, such a shame they stopped the Concorde from flying. Also, the taxi going past? It looks as though it was travelling abit slower than the plane taking off, why was that? Like, I know the plane was travelling much faster, but for some unknown reason, it looked as though the car was travelling just that bit slower
as a child a flew in a Connie (KLM) from Schiphol to Santiago de Chile (think all together 72 hours...) and indeed I had the pleasure of flying Concorde to Singapore!
@@MartinWallman No problem... I am surprised in the years since you posted the video, nobody has bothered to mention it. Actually, I have just (the day I type this for people viewing this comment in the future) come home after viewing Alpha Charlie at MIA...
@@Trek001 Hi Trek001 I am surprised nobody noticed my date error too, as there are many very knowledgeable and dedicated Concorde fans around, I meet many in 2003. Surely BOAC is at Manchester not MIA = Miami?
@@MartinWallman *looks* Ah, yes... I am also a railway enthusiast and often refer to places by their three letter station identifiers... Manchester's is MIA
