I've done a simular method like this for a patio. Dug about two foot down added gravel. Stacked the bags at a staggered pattern two bags high. Then I drove rebar through the the bags and about 3 foot in the ground. Watered it down then taped the tops if the bags to make it smooth. Came back two weeks later pressure washed the paper. Worked like a charm.
Looks like 10 bags per row,and about 30 rows, for 80lb bag of concrete it should be about 8 bucks each"depending".material cost looks like 2400,and for cheap labor should be a about a little over 3000 for that whole job, but I'm just quick guessing
Isn't that a waste? Couldn't that have covered way more? My uncle when his knees got bad did something similarly lazy he waited for a puddle to form in the hole in the driveway and dumped the concrete in and stirred it with a stick and voila all done! I laughed my but off.
😂 lol Thanks for sharing your story! That's hilarious..I laughed out loud when I read that😄 I could just picture someone filling the puddle with concrete then waking up the next day PROUD AS A PEACOCK AT THE EXCELLENT &CHEAP HOLE FILLED UP!👍😁😎
@@hellosweetheart3350 I'm in Eastern Shore Virginia. I grew up in Bon Air. A guy I knew in high school father did this on a slope edge of his property and I saw it over 20 years later band it was still holding up. Mind you it didn't look pretty but it was still halting his erosion problem.
@@hellosweetheart3350 I did a 18’x68’ driveway using 4,000psi quikrete. If you prep correctly, crusher run (mixture of crushed stone & stone dust) & #57 coarse aggregate it is perfectly fine. Set bags in summer when it’s hot & humidity is low, water w sprinkler for 24 hrs, and let set for 4 days it’s fine. That was 8 yrs ago and driving is fine with no cracks. We run our F250 and Yukon over driveway couple times of day. Using 50lbs bags, takes about 60 to cover 1 cubic yard.
Yup ditches and around bridges too. Its a pond i use to fish at when i was 8 that had this done in some areas and as a boat ramp. Im 38 now and it still looks the same as when i was 8 no damage from trucks or boats.
This is actually not a bad idea, the bags are just about the thickness of what a driveway should be anyway. The only issue here is that they didn't take their time to make the sides look good, it's too sloppy
