Well, what would you do if a junkie was charging you with a pipe/knife? You gotta shoot, because tazers don't always work (especially on junkies), but knives/metal bars/ect do absolutely always work if you can't stop them

I don't think it's ever going to get a remaster, however, a spiritual successor is very likely to happen one day.

same tbh. psychosis and homelessness in itself are quite scary to me, but seriously, mentally ill or homeless people are much much more likely to be the victims of violent crime than the perpetrators

Add that with with the slightly nonsense logic of this games plot and it feels like a fairly generic horror game.

I say this as someone who loves this game a lot (more for memories associated with playing it than the quality of the game itself) this is a big mood. This series definitely hits a lot different as an adult than when I was a kid, and I don't mean that in a good way. the explanation for like. why everyone is mentally ill is flimsy at best (it's there, it's just absurd) and even still the fact that someone sat down to make a game that said "yes 99.9% of the enemies are going to be explained in the first few seconds as mentally ill/homeless and later it'll be clarified that actually no, they're just mindless/brainwashed" as though the explanation even helps is nauseating now. I love the horror genre, but man i wish we could get some better/new themes.
