Former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said that while she believes the #MeToo movement is "a good thing," people need "to be a little bit careful" about how they respond to it.
Have the Fox News, Rushbo's, Hannity's etc, done such a job of dividing us that we can't say so and so is smart, beautiful etc? We really are screwed that the millionaire have divided us like sheep as we go to our own slaughter. The recent tax scam, er, tax bill is a great example.
SAD that those of us who have accomplished half of what she has are attacking her not on her political views but out of personal nastiness. I was 100% against Iraq war but I'd run to have dinner with her personally.
I admire her perspective on the MeToo movement, but let's not forget that she is a war criminal who played a key role in executing the Bush administration's illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and lied about Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction. She, along with other war hawks in the Bush administration, is responsible for authorizing the torturing and/or killing of millions of innocent Iraqis and Afghans.
Condoleezza Rice is a reason that DeSantis wants White children not to learn the history of how badly enslaved Africans and African Americans were treated by White people, before and after the American Revolution. Condoleezza Rice said that White children should not feel badly about what happened to Black people. Therefore, she is saying that it’s okay for Black people to feel badly about what happened to Black people, because that’s how Black children feel when Black children learn about Black history. Search for the RU-vid video called “Florida town, students resist letting state’s war on Black history be forgotten. At 0:17, DeSantis reminds me of Hitler. He surrendered himself with White children, and their signs say “PROTECT CHILDREN,” but not one of the children are African American. DeSantis has an evil agenda. Therefore, Americans must vote against DeSantis. ☝🏽👩🏽🦱🇺🇸
She's smart. Mentioning how the "metoo" movement is making men second guess whether they even want to risk having a woman around them in work or in their social life is a real issue, and it's driving a further divide between the sexes.
Yep and sad to say the accusations dont have to be true they just has to be said now and that's horrible. Men shouldn't harass women but I can see where the former could be an issue. And yes, in some ways, this will only further divide us and also undoubtedly set women back as yeah I could see where the men wouldn't want women around more now than ever before given the risks
The only issue I have with it, is that behavioral mores have changed over the last 60 years. You can't change the past. You can change the future. If you want to correct behavior, look for changes you can make that help people see your side. Pointing fingers at bad behavior from 50 years ago or calling out names for behaviors considered normal at the time may undermine the message. People who broke the law should be punished, and if found guilty should pay for their crimes, however long ago it was. No one should be above the law.
"I love policy, I don't love politics" --> Great statement. She proves it by not saying anything remotely positive about that utterly moronic Oprah speech.
Amazing woman. Wish I could have the honor to meet her or attend one of her lectures. For me, this would be no higher honor to quote the title of her amazing book. Thank you Ms. Rice for your service to our nation.
The big issue is that 99% of men and women can get along just fine and know if they are being a jerk or not. But when 1% deal with microaggressions and find harm in "unwanted language", it does put a chill in place because everyone knows they'll run into that person sometime and they won't want to lose their job or have the Scarlett Letter social media badge blast them forever. Just the appearance or accusation is often enough to ruin a life.
.Bernardo Brito she dated (and was engaged to) Denver Broncos WR Rick Upchurch. I don't believe Hillary is a lesbian, just corrupt, strident and vindictive.
So, I wonder why our laws don't disallow opposition politics, making it unlawful to be dirty and funded by wealthy individuals and simply mandate decency in policy making? Surely our politicians on the hill are mature enough to hang their partisan badges up at the front door of the floor and negotiate laws to benefit ALL Americans? This should not require a president of any sort.
We're living in a time now where regretting it, not enjoying it, not getting off (bad sex,) being talked into it and doing it whilst not actually wanting to (that's still consent btw) are all considered assault now. Even doing it but not wanting to is classified as assault by these morons. Men are opting out of marriage and dating at higher rates now, there's even a small movement over that. Eventually men are going to start saying "no thanks" to women in general. At this point in time women are causing more trouble than what they are worth.
Their choice. There's good men and there's good women. There's bad, self-absorbed men and there's bad, self-absorbed women. It's a free country, men can talk to whoever they want (or don't want), and same for women. If men don't want to talk to women, more power to them, we'll talk to the men who do want to talk. Same applies in reverse for idiot feminazis who refuse to talk to men except to tell them they're scum or some BS unless men are constantly kissing their asses. I assume most men are happier not talking to angry women who are pissed off at men. And I assume most women are happier not talking to angry men who are pissed off at women. People will talk when they're ready. Everybody has their own issues and takes their own time with things.
It's not "male problem" stupid. It's individual with the name problem, stupid. If one guy robs a bank, It's not like all men robed the bank, stupid, otherwise we would all be going to prison for one mans crime stupid.
I believe a few women not all the women ! This shit just seems like some people's 5 mins of fame. . And the sad part is real victims! Aren't getting the time of day because of some these women.
it dont matter, the effects were massive and hard to reverse. the movement made women appear as liabilities so their value drops. then women start to complain about being under valued over men which reinforces the movement again. of course women from outside US are still good.
"Because you know your own DNA" love Dr. Rice What an excellent observation about not wanting women to turned into snowflakes. I was one of those women who went that male garbage. It was a hard, but it taught me some things I learned to pick my battles and when to speak. There are different ways to be assertive. Never loose your sense of humor.
At 1.30 the moment the dude realized Rice wasn't going to say something catchy about harrasment he cut the conversation. All the dude was a story but Rice saw it coming
I guess she is stunned at how things have become in this day and age. Any normal person who went to college in say 2005-2010 will find all of this stuff absurd.
Condoleeza Rice is about the last person women should take advice from, and the least qualified to give it. She's such a champion of women, especially black women, that she spent a considerable amount of time gaslighting us on air about "acts of genocide" and how that's not fully genocide, while we all sat back and allowed every horror against women that you can ever imagine. She believes in womens rights when it's suits us, and human rights only if it's our rights we are talking about.
I hear what you're saying, and there is truth to it, but there are plenty of people who aren't as good hearted as they believe that they are. They take part in plans to start illegal wars on fake allegations on many countries at the same time, often thinking they are doing good, in reality doing more evil than the evil they claim to be going to stop.
There are degrees of lies, and the way republicans are covering for trump it appears some are treasonous liars, as compared to sellout lying corporate liars. Some are taking money from russia, or other bad influences, and have zero morality whatsover. This false equivalency shit is part of the whole problem. Someone like warran or sanders who has always written legislation and pushed issues to protect the little people, is way different from someone like clinton who would be a sellout liar of typical political persuasion, then there is republican leadership and their owners, and the media their owners own. That last group is out to destroy the country and steal it out from under everyone, one repossesed home and one bubble crash, and one nazi uprising at a time, kill everyone with climate change denial, or kill everyone with oil spills or kill everyone with nuclear taunting, whatever works.
If you don't think the me2 movement is not all part of the same opression and manipulation and division used to divide and rule, it's because you are one of the simpletons. You need to be more observant, and less of a dick. There is a big problem with republican leadership, way bigger than the normal problems with dem leadership. Treason and trying to submarine the country on purpose is not in any way comparable to corruption as usual in washington.
Right on - she is one healthy woman, I send my best wishes to her on March the 8-th, 2018! And about "power position". it is not unlike being afflickted with diarrhea...Makes the person do things they would not do in full health and balance.
Another aspect that is worrying is how the MeToo movement can be taken too far by certain individuals and be used by those individuals as effective ways of taking revenge or settling the score with people whom they just simply don’t like. I am disappointed when I hear a certain male being denounced and/or dismissed with immediate effect just because a woman (or man) claims that he has been inappropriate to her once many years ago and no concrete legal evidence is even provided. It seems that the MeToo movement is now so robust that women can just eliminate whomever they want without even showing proof or evidence. This is not on. Women deserve respect and recognition and should in no way feel intimidated either at work or at home, but men also deserve respect and self-worth and should not be used as dartboards for women to vent their anger. Sexism/misogyny is totally reprehensible in the modern world, but going the other way is also not on. Let’s work for a society where men and women can work together and negotiate with one another in harmony and with reason.
She is the first decent thing CNN has had on their broadcasts in years! Just another clip to reaffirm how awesome and sound of mind this lady is. Still wish she would run for President, but it'll never happen. She'd be what would make America proud to have as our first female president. Certainly much smarter and classier than the last woman that ran for president....much less crooked too :P
The me too "movement" has yet again, made the United States constitution THE most important document in the history of mankind. Keep your body cams charged, gentleman
Kris C sorry darling only; in your conditioned, manipulation, lied-to-mindset. The chicken has come home to roost. You wouldn't get; until you get out more. There is a big world out there.
And it is unfortunate that the men of the rest of the world do not have constitutional protections from the metoo liars. Or due process. If I'm alone with a woman I don't know, it gets filmed. Period. Body cam bitch. Go ahead and make yourself (& your gender) look foolish. Accusations without evidence is slander. I guarantee we are going to see some gold diggers getting sued
You talking about Golf or politics? Finally got my coffee after a Royal start. Yes don't be a snowflake and the male interviewer agreed. Just be happy that you found someone to interview you. All good in Chiang Rai.🤠
Much like those who've previously commented, I didn't find myself very much agreeing with the Secretary's policies, however I really do admire her as a person. Rice strikes me as a very sensible, intelligent, and forward-thinking person.
This is great and all, but this is the same lady who sat in front of the 9-11 Commission and said that a presidential briefing on 8/6/2001 called "Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US" was not a warning.
Very True, with this "metro" stuff what happens if men stop trynna talk to women then women start feeling insecure and ugly lol...Women dont know what they want tbh
Essentially she's saying here that if women complain too much about actual abuse, men will limit their place at the table. She's telling all women to stand down. Absolutely ridiculous.
Mrs Rice is correct if things are not done correctly - women won't be hired and men will see women as the enemy. Be careful very careful the direction this movement takes- could back fire very badly for women.
Yes, now the women who pushed MeToo! are complaining of the backlash, the distance men are keeping, work environments that have become more formal, even frosty, the elimination of at work socializing, etc.
I have never met Ms Rice, so what I have to say does not really mean a whole lot. What I do like about her is the ability to stand on her own merits; having the courage of her convictions.
I hate how he changes the topic when she says she doesn't want it to get to the point where men start to think maybe its better not to have women around. I was hoping he would dig deeper into that but instead he changes the topic to talk about Oprah. so annoying.
The pendulum is already swinging the other way , in the last decades women had it good by having literal male slaves at the office ready to grab coffee tolerate their mood swing and whatever . Now i see dudes hanging out amongst each other and anytime a female is around you can feel the tension
I'm not an American and even if I were, I would very likely not be a republican voter. I was also not necessarily a fan of the Bush administration's politics, but I do have a very sincere respect and regard for Condoleeza Rice. She is highly intelligent and even in this video, you can see that she has more than the average dose of common sense. It's a shame that she doesn't run for President, but what she says makes sense. A person who knows their limitations, is someone who is capable of growing. Credit where credit is due. The USA is lucky to have this lady, even though like me, you may disagree with her politics.
smartest woman so far... Some guys deserve to be punished, cuz they r over the top. But most guys are good and they just want to show interest. Now even complimenting a coworker or taking an interest is dangerous
