I remember when I watched a video of the TED where they were talking about power poses. Anyways, joining that video with this one, you have a big improvement in your communication.
Hi Kara I need help, how can I tackle and speed up my learning process so that my boss will not look me down as I am a new hire? How can I gain confidence where i am too afraid of being look down by my boss. I hate to have fear eveytime entering office as I was gas lighted for the past few months, how can I build up my confidence as a team lead?
The first thing you need to do is build your confidence. Remember that you were hired for that job because people believe in you. I would say your boss believes in you too. The fear of being looked down on could be blocking you more than anything else. Put the blinkers on. Focus on doing your work well. And watch this video on building confidence as a leader ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zxfM9rPjfq8.html
Summary: Don't say: This might be a stupid idea but... You all might hate this idea but... I don't know if this is a good idea but... Do say: №1 I'm confident that... №2 I believe... №3 I'm going to tell you my idea. №4 I like what you said about (xyz). I'd like to add to that. №5 I have an idea I'd like to share with everybody. It's an idea in progress but, with your input, I'm confident that we can make it into a great idea.
This is a very helpful video as are all of your videos that I've watched! One comment: at minute 2:46, "Hesitent" is an incorrect spelling of "Hesitant". I'm sure that's an easy fix on your side. Otherwise, again, wonderful content you have on your channel!
Thanks for pointing that out Roxane. I didn't pick that up in editing. Unfortunately, I can't change the titling as the video is already published. Oh well.
It's in relation to the phrase I used, "people are attracted to confident people". In the workplace, I don't want people to be worried about having confidence. It won't attract people to you in a romantic way. By showing confidence, it will simply help people listen to what you say and believe in you more. Does that clear it up?
Just one word: Dunning and Kruger, or why are the dumbest people the most confident and the smartest people are constantly doubting themselfs. And why are people always impressed with confident dumb people ?????
