Never did a heel like this. You do such great tutorials. Thank you!

And nor should you . Its not a good idea to use garter stitch where you need strength.

Terrific video! Thank you I may have misses it but it seems to me this would be a longer lasting heel. Definitely going to give it a go.

I don’t have any stat to suggest it lasts longer, but it’s definitely possible to replace it fairly easily if it does wear out. ☺️

Started knitting the garter stitch on my socks as I've been wearing out the heels. I do the toe as well.

If this would work using the German short row method instead of wrapping stitches, is there any possibility you could do a tutorial for it please?

I would like a bit more info on “partial rounds.” I know it means an incomplete round like short rows, but can’t picture how this would happen. Is the knitting turned so one is working on the wrong side? Does it involve wrap and turns? Does it risk leaving a hole? Other than that, I am keen to give this a try. The heel looks lovely and squishy.

Hiya! A partial round in this context doesn’t involve turning the work. It just moves where the start of round or row will be. So there is no hole or need to wrap and turn or anything like that. It’s just a case of moving the marker so that things line up correctly.

I’m looking at 9” and 12” circular needles for sock knitting. Which size do you think is the most comfortable for socks? Thanks.

Definitely the 9” circulars for standard sock knitting. 👍🏻 Happy knitting!

I’m a lot more comfortable using German Short Rows. In this case with garter stitch would a GSR work?

Yes! Alternative short row methods are totally fine. 👍🏻
