In this video, I expand my DNS (Domain Name System) functionality by configuring zone transfers between different DNS servers controlling different DNS namespaces. We configure primary forward and reverse lookup zones for IPv4 and IPv6, and then we configure zone transfers to transfer the records in those primary zones to secondary forward and reverse lookup zones on a different server.

I am STUCK! I followed the instructions BUT i keep getting an error message in my primary DNS server with an X next to my secondary zone transfer. I tried everything i can think of. Do you have a video on how you configured your static IP on your second DNS server and changed your default gateway address? I've tried doing the process with a private and an external switch and i keep getting the same erorr.

Great tutorial, but I have an issue with the name lookup, I have to use the FQDN but I want to use just the hostname without the DNS suffix. how can this be resolved?
