You cannot trust anybody, not even yourself. Sounds harsh, doesn't it? But let's demonstrate this with an example: if you're an ardent fan of a sports team, you're absolutely convinced that your team is the best. You read news articles, social media posts, watch interviews, always seeking out information that confirms your belief. When they win, it's because they are the best, when they lose, it's the referee's fault, the weather, or just a bad day.
This is Confirmation Bias at play: a psychological phenomenon where we interpret, favour, and recall information that confirms our pre-existing beliefs or hypotheses. It's a form of cognitive bias that can distort your perception of reality. To make things worse, it has a direct impact on your quality of life: you make less money when you are under the Confirmation Bias because you will give preference to notice certain things and ignore other important information.
