Confirmed it does not work on vanguard. It's tough to say all future games will be affected. The block is done on the game level, not by the ps5. So it's up to game Devs to decide if they want to block it.

All I want to say is THANK YOU! You have no idea how long I have been searching for a work around like this. I play Fortnite and I got a PS5 the day it first launched and I haven’t even played it yet because I love my Astro C40 too much to not use it. Now I can finally utilize this Dust infested PS5 haha Thanks man and I felt the length of the video was solid and informative regardless of what some of these adhd people have said prior to me haha

#ps5backbutton I've had my DS4 back buttons for a little more than 6 months now and I can't imagine ever going back. It just feels like that's how the (majority)of shooters/action games are supposed to be played.

Thanks, I appreciate you stopping by I wasn't expecting the video to be as long as it was. But by the time I was done filming it I had a lot more footage than you even see here. I wanted to be sure all the info was in the video. When I cut stuff out on the past people in the comments ask questions about stuff and it was in the footage but was cut to make it shorter.

I am just saying I think both answers here are correct. In the end I need details call me dumb but a missed step or a half shown step sometimes makes it impossible.

@@Sceidge it's true. It won't work. I tried using ps5. Don't work. I can't lie....I was very skeptical but it works. And if you can't find hori then opt with "Nacon wired compact controller." Found it on Amazon for 50 bucks. Works as intended

Hey man cool video, I have a question though.. I have a scuf controller that I’d like to use for Warzone/modern ware fare, Which is a PS4 game originally, when you say you can use a scuf on your ps5 only in “PS4 mode” does that mean your ps5 will run at PS4 speeds whilst using the controller eg frame rates etc.. I’m asking because I’m getting a PS5 soon but I’m very competitive and I can’t go back to a controller without paddles essentially getting a ps5 is pointless for me if I don’t have paddles for cod, cheers mate

When playing ps4 games on a ps5 it is essentially a really good ps4 pro. So, you will have a competitive advantage by having stable 60 fps all the time. But you won't gain an adjustable fov or enhance graphics. Your game will play the same hd textures as anyone else on a ps4 pro though. If you start playing newer cod games that are on Ps5 you would need to use the cronus like I show in this video

I’m replying late. But there currently is no “ps5 version” of warzone so it doesn’t matter too much. Though I believe there might be a “new gen” version coming out around the same time vanguard does. So currently I can enjoy 120fps on warzone and it looks better than on base ps4 (idk about ps4pro). Also you can use ps4 controller on it. You can’t use it on ps5 games though.

i have the ps5 pulse 3d wireless headset and i normally only play Apex Legends in the ps4 version and i also use a ps4 strikepack to play it but it needs to be connected to the only USB port on the console so i cant use the headset wirelessly only wired. i dont like it wired because the volume is significantly lower and cant use most of its functionalities either. Any fixes around that?

Yes, get a usbc to micro USB cable, use the usbc port in front to plug your strike pack into, which will free up the other port for the dingle for your headset What do you have plugged into the back USB ports? The ps5 has 4 total USB ports available

#ps5backbutton First off..Wow. You went through everything just to show us this. Above and beyond. For that, thank you. I’m now considering my options since I am so incredibly used to having back buttons. Anyway, here’s my interesting thing: I’ve had both the strike pack and the Sony back buttons, both came defective and broke prematurely. I now have a ps5 controller that just broke on me today, it got major stick drift like you mentioned in your video and also randomly lost the ability to use the built in jack. From what I’ve read these DualShock 5 controllers are just notoriously cheaply made. Either that or just poorly constructed. I’m so unlucky it truly seems fake and made up. It’s all documented on RU-vid however through my streams. You’re more than welcome to check it all out. Long story short winning the back button attachment would open the door that I’m now prepared to go through with the Cronus and the “junk” controller just to be at my maximum performance when it comes to streaming and hanging out with my viewers. All thanks to you for giving me all this information. You left me with zero questions. Hope I win 🤞🏼

I have a hori tac grip controller (look it up if you aren't aware). It's wired and officially licensed but made for PS4, I'm wondering if I could plug it straight in without the hori mini and use it like normal for PS5 games. In other words, what happens if you try to use the hori mini for PS5 games with this setup? Because the hori tac grip I'm talking about will effectively take the place of that hori mini, but I will still need to use it instead of a dualshock 4.

On PS5 with cronus zen attached, my controller keeps disconnecting every 7-10 minutes. Ps4 and ps5 controller with and without strike pack eliminator it still disconnects. I tried it on PS4 and it remains connected. No issues with PS4 and zen device. Did you have this issue as well without the Hori controller? Will Hori controller correct this issue? Please help!

Are you saying when you try without hori controller? You must have that controller and it must be connected to the side USB port. No disconnection issues at all that way

Ok thanks! No I never had a hori. But yeah you definitely get my sub. Hori was difficult to find so I opted for another. After watching this video I did some more research and saw that "collective minds" has a list of licensed controllers to use. The other affordable one was "Nacon wired controller." Since then I've had no issues with controller disconnecting on ps5! Thanks.

You do know the back button attachment for PlayStation 4 controllers may not work for PlayStation 5 dual sense because the Dorset USB port is type c not micro USB

I have the Strike Pack Eliminator for my PS4 controller to use when I play missions on GTA 5 for Head Shot. I can’t use it on my PS5 game though I even bought the Cronus Zen because supposedly you can trick the PS5 thinking it’s using a PS4 controller with the Zen but I can’t do it I don’t know why I can’t but this sucks.

Do you have any idea why when I click enable ps4 specialty it says “please power cycle the zen for this to take effect” that’s the only thing holding me back. I have updated the zen software to the latest version.

Mr Canada, I was thinking of buying the zen for this reason but I have one important question... does this set up add extra input delay or make it higher than a regular PS5 controller through bluetooth. I play Fortnite and as you know in that game you are sending so many inputs within milliseconds and extra input delay is not worth it just for using a PS4 controller. Thank you if you are able to understand what I am getting at and if you can answer that question for me.

It does not add input delay but def adds stick drift. Buy an Astro c40 tr. way better

Yes, In time you will probably develop stick drift But, this is the cheaper way to fix it. A new ps4 controller and plug your back button in that and away you go But yes, if you get a c40 it will also work with this setup

I don't know if they made the attachment last year but they have remapping back buttons for the ps5 controller and its simple to hook up yourself. It's only $45 usd and it's easy to do yourself.

What about the Thrustmaster eswap controller. I tried everything you mentioned in the video but it appears that it doesnt work with the Thrustmaster. Can you suggest something? the light comes on, on the controller but no buttons work.

Does the controller work on ps4 games when plugged right into the ps5? If so you should be able to do the exact setup I showed. Make sure you did the update on the zen as shown in the video, and the hori mini is plugged into the correct port.

@@GearsAndTech Yeah so I just put a ticket in to the Cronus ZEN tech support and they got back to me right away. So I guess the Thrustmaster is not yet supported on the Cronus ZEN and once support has been added they will make an announcement. They provided a link for all compadible controllers for use on the cronus ZEN. I guess I'll have to be patient until they patch it. Thanks guide.cronusmax.com/devices/controllers

Ok, only question is why in the video did you have a cut when opening up the game? For all we know, you could’ve opened up the PS4 version of Cold War. Which may be the reason why you can use that controller and why you didn’t get the message when opening up the game.

Hey, I was looking to get my hands on xim, but haven't found one cheap enough to give it a try My gut says no from what I have seen. But until you try it there is no way to know for sure. If you do get a hori and it works maybe you can take a quick video and I'll put it together into a tutorial to include on the channel for everyone else

Make sure you did the update of your zen on your pc, and selected the corect settings as shown in the video

@@GearsAndTech I forgot to click “Enable PS4 Specialty” , without that it will pair to the Cronus, but it will not work. Once you enable that option, it will work.

#PS5BackButton hey i just purchased a ps5 controller from modded zone to play warzone but wanted to have the ability to jump shot & jump slide w/o taking thumb off.... I have given my ps4 & scuff accessories away not knowing that I could use the cronus zen. After watching several videos I'm still confused on what path to go in at this point. Do i need a Titan 1, cronus zen, buy another scuff etc... I have been enjoying my ps5 dual sense. I just wanna be able to jump slide/shoot efficiently.

Doesnt work on newer games and some updates to older games because sony has patched this method now so u will have to download the ps4 versions but that sucks because u cant play in 120fps and bad graphics. They do this to block unnoficial controllers and to block the cronus etc because its used for rapid fire and recoil control scripts. I think that it will be cracked once a 3rd party ps5 controller comes out then they can use the code from that controller for cronus zen to work with ps5s controller encryption

I wasn't expecting to come across this work around, really grateful I did though. I religiously hate strike pack mods and people who use them however ironically can now see myself buying one so I can simply keep using my ps4 controller on ps5 games. I don't like the ps5 controller at all, mostly the shape but especially with fps gaming - the fact that there is no back button support.. It's literally a no brainer to keep using the dualshock 4.. And I know a lot of others that are in the same boat. Plus with most people getting on the 'dualsense' boat now as it's the 'latest and greatest', dualshock 4's will only become cheaper and cheaper so it's a win win for me! Thanks!

Why didn't they put back buttons on the dualsense? Very strange how they haven't upgraded it. The only real effective difference is my little fingers don't get strained holding the pad now.

Just got everything yesterday. The only issue I came across was having to update the cronus’ firmware. Other than that it all went smooth and is working fine. Also the wires do have to go in the same inputs as you have in the vid or else the controller will turn off after 10 mins.

The nacon controller works as well I have that one and it has a headphone jack so you can just plug the headphones into the controller you are not using...

Just to clarify, are you using the Nacon controller in place of the Hori controller, in order to simulate the PS5 control credentials? I have a nacon revolution pro 2 and I would like to use it on my ps5 for BO Cold War. I may have misunderstood your post, if all I had to buy additional is the chronus Zen, I would be quite pleased.

@@Enoch-md3gw yes that is what I am saying 😁 I bought the hori controller it was okay but I returned it for a nacon controller instead of the hori because it has a headphone jack so if my wireless die then I can plug into the nacon .. so yes all you would need is the zen device which is hard to come by without paying over price I found it on Amazon for $93 bucks with taxes came to $101 but it was shipped from the uk to the US and now I can’t find it everywhere like 150 so

I think what he is asking is if he can just plug the nacon into the left USB port and use that controller with just the zen. Nothing else needed? But, one thing I am wondering, what happens if you plug it straight into the ps5? It's weird that the zen uses the license from the controller to make it think it's a ps5 controller. When the controller doesn't work plugged directly in. Im not saying I understand what is going on. But it does work.

One can buy 2 additional DualSense controllers for same price that Hori and Zen cost... also, you can easily mod DualSense controller...

I'm not sure I would say nodding dual sense is easy. Doing this is easier and costs about the same. But, when that dual sense gets controller drift in a month your setup starts to cost a lot more very quickly!

@@GearsAndTech TBH with you, I'm using my DualSense already since PS5 release date, daily and no drift at all... I'm also using it on PC... I've saw many people complain about drift, I for some strange reason have none... One thing more, DualSense controller has identical analogs thumbs as does DualShock 4 and xBOne controllers... so it is obvious that those controllers should have drift as well... And my oldest DualShock 4 controller is now 8 years old, working as first day... well, battery is almost dead...

They are the same but different. There are different models of the alps stocks and the dual sense is using a lower spec one with less activations before fail Not sure why. It's weird

It's tough to say. If they really wanted to I suppose they could patch it But they never patched the zen out of ps4, even though they could have done that too. This is a niche need, so it's not likely to become widespread enough for them to bother
