It’s time to write. But wait…how do you even start? This skit will take you through two scenarios: the beginning of a story with no conflict or suspense and then one with it. Your students will be able to see how plot is not just a series of events. It must have conflict! It must be suspenseful! Organization is also important when brainstorming and a Somebody-Wanted-But-So Chart (SWBS) can be really helpful for the struggling writer. Main characters need motivation to make them seem realistic. This video also touches on some common ways to add tension into your story.
