While he might of not said a word he wrote something knowingly controversial down and was wanting to get peoples reactions to it. He is aware that people will have emotional responses based on their lived experience when he writes “there are only two genders.” clearly he sought out a location where he knows many don’t hold that opinion. He didn’t go to a Christian university in Texas for a reason. He went to a university in Portland where he knows the majority firmly believe there are more than 2 genders and will die on that hill.

This guy is extremely patient. He effectively rebuffed these crazy students/teachers. They didn't participate in his exercise... they just barged in without even knowing what was happening.

What can a student like that do after graduation? There's nowhere they can go that will be safe enough for them. Questions shouldn't send people over the edge that quickly. That means this college knows they have high at-risk students and are just coddling a serious problem.

I work as a teacher in the inner city. I think of myself as a person of color. I would like to see these students work with the population I work with and see how they deal with the issues thousands of people are having with daily living. My son has autism, could they help in the world? And imagine, not one person with ASD represented. Critical thinking is dead and we will all pay a high price for it.
These people need help coping with a reality that doesn’t fit their views or positions. Helping them cope with a world that doesn't agree with their views or positions doesn’t involve simply agreeing with every view or position they have or action they take.

Combat veteran here. I’ve seen my friends killed and maimed in combat, and a bunch of dead enemies overseas; I cannot fathom how people can be so butthurt over a simple sign that they need to go home for the day and lock themselves in their room. Our society is incredibly soft.

University was once a bastion of higher education, it has devolved into a sad place of leftist intimidation and indoctrination! No parents, lived in a crazy upbringing(in hidden) which prevented me from going to school until i was 12. I Wasn't anywhere near the grade I was supposed to be when I started 7th grade, I was technically at a 4th grade level. But guess what I had to suck it up and keep it pushing. Yet they're so sensitive about a statement being made, not even towards them, but very impersonal ones. I think their social constructionism theory is interesting, trans advocates always bring it up. Genders are supposedly social constructs, which is fair to argue. But if society decides genders, how does that justify their argument, exactly?? If society wanted two genders and that was the consensus, that's the social reality. Just as an individual has the right to claim they believe in 900 genders, an individual can believe there's only two genders because society can formulate its own opinion. Where is the part of the theory that espouses individuals should be coerced into accepting other people's constructs of gender?? Social Constructionism would impart that genders are a free for all, not a uniformity system where people have to oblige each other's definitions. I wonder what the actual justification is that there needs to be more than two genders, besides childhood traumas and dysmorphia. Is it helping those individuals? Those sociologists admit they are afraid trans people will get triggered, how is having a bout of rage justified?? They are speaking about trans like they're sick people who need to be treated special so they don't implode. For social workers, they sure are advocating harm on a person's identity.

And he talked to them like any other normal human being. I did not get the sense that he used any trick or that he exhibited any kind of advanced scientific knowledge that is beyond my educational purview. I probably would have approached those people in conversion exactly the way he did.... if it weren't for my extreme impatience towards their ridiculous beliefs and behaviour.

I really like how he handled this encounter. He held back and politely allowed them to speak freely. In so doing they exposed how repetitive, dogmatic, and dependent on emotional blackmail their reasoning is.
My 10-year-old watched this video over my shoulder, and when the woman at 05:45 explains, that they reacted by being triggered, because they didn't know what was going on, my son said: "But when they curse at him and flip him off instead of asking and talking about it, they'll never know what's going on. Why didn't they ask first before being grumpy and mean?" I'm so glad that he's got an understanding of something, some people twice his age can't grasp.

She conflates anatomical differences with sex role stereotypes as if they are equally arbitrary. I don't give a crap how masculine or feminine anyone is, but sex is a physical fact, and recognizing that fact does not imply that you believe in imposing stereotypes.
What I find uniquely intriguing in this interview is your patience and unwillingness to engage with the animosity. You actively listened and asked extremely important questions that didn't encrouch on their fragile personal eggshell image which is pretty much impossible in the modern age. A truly democratic society in nature at least should accommodate alternate view points while facilitating a HEALTHY conversation through debate, moderated by bypartisan authorative figures. There are a lot of others who would better be called egalitarian or left liber tarian. (space added to evade word filter) Described briefly, this just means we prefer our taxes and policy be aimed solely towards public needs. Limited gov with a civic mandate. Unfortunately, we tend to be less outspoken and have given up on the 2 party system.
@KomodoDragon 1.7 percent of the population are hermaphrodites. Education is the beginning of understanding. Doctors used to operate on the infant at birth choosing the sex of the babies. Some parents choose to not operate and let the child grow up and choose. The doctor was not always right causing problems when they grew up. Some call it intersex and they were born that way. Things that were hush hush are now being known.
I am 73 year old straight woman. I am not fragile. I have had a lot of trauma in my life and have been the rock of the family. When you have both male and female organs at birth the parent and doctor can choose to operate. In my day they didn't want the children growing up different. Things were hidden back then.
But white people have 100% of all power in all situations and all scenarios, haven't you heard? Even in majority black areas or in places where the law treats everyone the same. I can just punch any black guy based on my "whiteness" alone! That's why we fought for independence from Britain, remember?

I’ve had to pinch myself multiple times because I feel like I am in a bad dream only to come to realize these are REAL people. Kudos to you for keeping your sanity throughout this whole thing.
I remember reading dystopian fiction books when I was younger, and for some reason I feel like a lot of the themes in those books are working their way into real life now. I have never been so grateful that those books were available to me as a kid, because I feel like they've mentally prepared me for what's happening in western societies today!

Maybe “social worker” means something different nowadays. 🤷♂️ In my youth a friend of mine was cut in half by a car turning over him, ending to a bush next to the street a dozen of winters ago. He died instantly. An emergency / trauma unit came the next day. Hindsight, they had no idea how to perform help. Even our temp had more to offer than all of them combined and she’s from the theatre. I still had to work it out on my own and this comes only from me. There were a handful of young individuals mourning our friend’s death and in such horrible way. It’s not a surprise I’m into psychology. These social workers are not making our lives better. They didn’t do it back then and certainly not now either it seems.
@Neil Simpson really? Sounds like your healthcare networks make it that way on purpose. Dealt with 2 social workers at Stanford Hospital from the beginning of November through the end of December, and both of them were awesome.
@@calvinferg Did I mention just how long I have worked in Healthcare? Multiply your experience of 2 months by 234. You then will have an idea of just how many of these Social workers I have come in contact with. There are always outliers and exceptions to the rule.

These “social workers” are weak. Imagine sharing the most traumatic experience of your life to your social worker and they just start crying and raging with you instead of helping you.
as a social worker myself (tho i'm asian and is working in my home country), this is so saddening for me. american social work, and america as a whole, has so much influence on other countries and i am afraid that this gender thing would be adapted by the universities in my country.
College was one of the best experiences of my life. It was super hard. But I had fun, enriched my life and was able to start my career. I studied electrical engineering.

What that guy did cannot be understated. That was masterful. He proved what everybody already knows. Their argument is built on a house of cards. I read Albert Camus book " The Rebel " which explains why these young adults are exhibiting their rebellious late adolescent phase. They are trying to make the world a better place. Unfortunately they are only showing their ignorance. Notice the cancel culture at the end. They did not show up to converse rationally. They showed up to be the dominant one. i.e. the rebel.

Well one of them is a "fox" this dudes tail kept hitting me in the face.. As the adult, I asked him to please be more careful, and considerate as we all were in one area.. his tail was about 4 foot.. I dont know how it , or where it was attached to, but I do know it flew pretty far.. hey, I'm old school.. if it takes more than once to tell ya, I'm gonna do it my way
