All the mom wanted was the cuddles and kisses but not do the work to truly make the dog happy. Thankfully Cesar saw that from the first minute he met her and saved the life of an innocent dog
The woman is just too fearful and not at all capable of leading a dog like this... check out her face when Cesar was telling her to be assertive but then she asked if she had to be like that all the time or could she take breaks 😂
Right that part had me weak lol, she was like “oh and do I always have to be like this or only when training” like bruh you have to be consistent and practice it at all times, just as you would be with your kids all times, you have to keep up with a dog as well and make sure they stay inline at all times because animals can get curious and get themselves into trouble because of that, so you always gotta keep an eye on them.
You're right, I can see it now..."Roxy is gone, honey can we go out this weekend & get a bulldog?" Yikes. Anything more than a purse dog for this woman is too much. They oughta think about getting a cat.
@@tyreseleeyeah, in a way- kind of, not really maybe but in a way this family might understand- its like learning to ride a bike & starting w/ a big ol' Harley instead of a bicycle w/ training wheels
@@Uncleruckinot true at all. I’ve always had powerful breeds. Currently have a German shepherd and a pit/rottie mix. I’m in charge and they know it. I’m only 5’2 and they know I’m their pack leader
It is such a relief that this family decided to give Roxy to Caesar. The family loved her, but they couldn't provide her with the leadership she needed. Staying together would not have been good for Roxy. Roxy is not going to be sad to leave them. She's going to have a wonderful life.
the fact she could walk next to multiple dogs at a time with cesar but goes home for 3 days and attacks a dog says it all. maybe they should look into getting a cat
Why, why, why, did they get a Pitbull??? Roxie might have been a normal dog if adopted by someone who knows how to handle a dog. Nathalie should not have a dog.
she can absolutely have a dog and love it to bits. just not a strong willed type/character with the physical potential to seriously hurt other beings. too many people have certain breeds as a status symbol.
This will continue happening because pitbulls are being so romanticized in the US. People like to think at them as only cute dogs and are being fooled with the new mantra: “it’s not the breed, it’s the human”. If people were just told the truth about APBT then we could prevent a lot of fatal accidents. The truth that people should be told is that the breed was created for the ONLY purpose of fighting other dogs to death. In order to achieve this man created a breed with an extremely strong prey drive, an extremely high pain tolerance, a low self-preservation instinct, all this to create the will to die before letting go, once they are triggered. If people were lectured about this, then they would have the opportunity of making an informed decision about owning this kind of dogs, with all the responsibility and accountability that this entails. The deeply embedded traits in their DNA makes them a potentially dangerous breed and this traits will not go away with treats and kisses as many people like to think.
They are responsible for how their Rottweiler turned out and then had him killed. And then they're well on their way to do the same to this dog. All the while refusing to recognize their part in all this.
@@maryjane4432 You can’t guarantee that even then, people love to say “could have, should have, would have” when they have no idea what the exact details are. These specific owners a weak people but you have no way of knowing if the rottie was (like many are) a really forward dog prone to handler issues.
@@bricesicle Do you know how often that happens?? Let's put it this way, Cesar at one point said he has ONLY ever come across 2 dogs that had a mental issue in which I do believe he recommended euthanasia but I can't recall for sure. You think about how many dogs Cesar sees on a daily/weekly basis and to only ever come across 2 dogs he couldn't help. Sorry, Bricesicle, it is the owners in this case that are the issue. I do rescue work and for the reasons these people have had to get rid of not one but two dogs, a reputable rescue would NEVER adopt a dog to these people nor should they! They have to work on fixing the role they played in these two dogs needing severe interventions.
Thank you Cesar. You are so revered by millions of people because you give dogs a 2nd chance when the owner hasn't understood their capacity to condemn a dog's life. God bless.
OMG I sobbed with that little boy at the end, a dog is the only thing alive that will love you more than it loves itself and we love them more than most of the humans we know.....
One thing that really annoys me is when people have a problem with something and are clearly clueless and then an esteemed professional warns them not to do something and they insist on doing it and it goes poorly. It's one thing if what they're doing isn't going to have an effect on anyone else but this sure did. People need to put their pride down and ask themselves, "Am I a professional in this field with years of experience?“ If the answer is no then you should probably listen to the professional.
Some people aren’t aware of their own problems. When you got a dog, a horse or other sensitive animal. But mostly an animal you have to work together. You have to change your own behavoir. Animals, especially dogs, are a mirror of you. Then, the next problem is, is a dog owner willing to change, have goals and ask for help. A dog is the best therapist to show you your good and your bad side. As an owner you can ignore that.
Love is not about affection and cuddles, love is understanding other's needs and nurture them on that way. They are dogs and their needs are different than human. Main problem with most of the owners in this series is that they dont want to accept it..
I 100% agree she is selfish. I feel like she is emotionally needy because when she made the comment do I have to stay like this all the time or can she give me love and affection is I knew right there she was a selfish owner. She has dogs and kids for her emotional support but you have to understand you know having a dog is like having a kid you need to give them a purpose you need to show them love but you also need to teach them right from wrong you're there to be a parent not a friend or be all about yourself. This woman is definitely selfish and needy I feel bad for the husband because even though he's probably could be a great pack leader but his wife kind of holds him back
My advice would be that it would have been better for the children if the mom would have acted like this was a happy choice for the dog. It would not only lessen the sad feelings but also show the children how to prioritize something before themselves.
This makes me so mad! This couple should not be dog owners at all. They refuse to address their own behaviors that put their dog in such an excited state! They not only failed Roxie, they failed their children as well. How could you put your children thru this and not want to change to make things work with the dog? These are lazy parents who think that a dog is supposed to be a toy to bring them pleasure. It's selfish.
Well said ✊ I totally agree with you! This mother is unbelievable, she never even tries to see the reality and keeps blaming the dogs for her failures! Besides, they didn’t even appreciate the fact that Cesar Millan was offering them a help for themselves to recognize their own problems in order for them to overcome their own obstacles to becoming better humans, especially for their own children’s sake!!! But noooooo! They both didn’t even try. They totally failed to not only Roxy, but to their children as well. Poor children growing up with such incompetent parents especially the mother… For the sake of all innocent animals, I truly hope these people would never ever own any animals at all, unless they change their minds and stand up to become better humans.., but I doubt that. Remember, they have already put down a poor Rottweiler before Roxy …
@@naomitakimoto7295I have two dogs a 6yo German shepherd and a 1.5yo pit/rottie. Absolutely love them both to pieces. Even tho I’m 5’2 I love powerful breeds. But I’m not naive and know they need discipline and exercise before love and cuddles
The problem is the humans, not the dog. The family is 100% responsible for Roxy's bad behavior. They should be strongly discouraged to have any other dog!
@@diandralorena2903 They had a healthy, happy Rottweiler. Under their care, he became so aggressive they put him to sleep after he attacked the female. They are not capable of owning powerful breeds. Especially the woman, I'm not putting her down or being disrespectful to her. She just doesn't have what it takes. They will get another dog soon, I just hope they choose a breed that's a better fit for them.
They have had other dogs before, and the same thing happened. I think having another dog would be too much for them to handle at this stage, because they don't understand what a dog needs. I respect them for giving up this dog before it was too late.
Watching your shows helped rid me of my fear of large or snarly dogs. Realizing that dogs have their own "language" and we have to learn that and act accordingly changed it all for me. Thank you!
Yikes, a grown pittie and they haven't even taught her not to jump up on people? That's puppy 101. And I say this as someone who had a dog aggressive 80lbs pittie. God bless Cesar salvaging troubled dogs.
Why would you ever take an animal aggressive dog to a dog park? You really need to think about what type of dog that you want to adopt and do your research
This is why I don't go to dog parks anymore. Both my dogs, and one of them is a pitbull, were attacked by some Pitbull that was owned by this frail little woman who was absolutely helpless when this went down. Turns out she got the pit bull from a rescue and it had been in the rescue for over 3 years. She had no collar on it and had never taken it to a dog park before or bothered to socialize it. That's when I realized how stupid I was to ever set foot in one of those.
We Have an Amstaff That Is Aggresive To Other Dogs We Only Go to The Dog Park When There Is No one Else There.. And Either Me Or my partner Stand Guard At The Gate in case Someone else Comes With Their Dog , If And When That Happens We Safely Leave... I would Never Give Up My Dog Like That....
Firstly, the children are beautiful! Secondly, my god, the wife is so unbelievably resistant to change! Oh, Roxy reverted back in 3 days upon returning home? That’s quite telling.. The whole dynamic here is off.. Y’all need a different kind of pet, because, all these dogs coming and going isn’t good for the children.. You need to consistently and continually invest in your dog’s education the same way you would one of the children..
You have the incredible once in a lifetime opportunity to have Cesar help your dog be the best dog, and you want to take him home before time😢 whyyyyy whyyyy?
Cesar, the knowledge you have within yourself about dogs is simply amazing! You notice & see all while explaining to us exactly what's happening. You're simply amazing! That's why you are the Dog Whisper!!! Amen, nuff said!🥰😇💯
Dog - It would be better if she had been able to be trained by Cesar. "I rehabilitate dogs, I train people." The dog was relaxing, belly up very quickly. Lady never did seem to relax. Her KIDS will grow up with ... issues, just like their dogs. Ask me how I know ...
Yes.. if you and the kids really love the dog, then you will do what is best for it. If you cannot change your energy and follow Cesar's direction, giving her to a better home for her is the next best option. Just sad another dog had to be attacked before they realized this.
Cesar is an angel to take this dog because this family chose the wrong breed - just dumb to pick a powerful breed and not put in the work it takes. The woman is an emotional basket case around the dog which doesn't help and creates more drama! What's next for this family: a German Shepard or Belgian Malinois or Rottweiler because they think it's cool?
They had a Rottie and wrecked it the same way they wrecked Roxie. Unfortunately, the Rottie paid with its life for their ignorance. Honestly, they shouldn't have any dog, big or small, because they won't change, If they could change, they would have changed in order to keep Roxie. Without changing themselves first, they'll end up wrecking any dog they get.
If this woman cared about her dog she would do everything in her power to cheer mindset, she wants help from the expert but yet won't do anything to change for the dog that she supposedly loves,I think they should get a couple of stuffed animals for themselves and call it a day.
Not sure why you would feel bad for HER, she is the problem, i feel bad for the rottie they took, made aggressive and then killed due to their negligence. Now theyre on the same path with this dog. Shes not depressed, she is selfish, and if she was depressed, maybe it wasnt a good idea to bring another living being who NEEDS direction, guidance, discipline that they are unable to provide. The dogs are the innocent ones, they continue getting the big breeds that they cant control and when it doesnt work, they want to put them to sleep. Dont have a dog if you cant properly care for it. That dog is DANGEROUS, had it attacked a child and killed that child, would you still feel for her? Its HER energy that is causing it all.@@GMc-iw2fy
@@GMc-iw2fyshe literally took the dog home before it was ready and it attacked another dog. Feel sorry for the animals who are innocent in all of this. Goodness.
Yeah, the two parents have week minds and they’re not able to see past their own fear and that’s not a good combination. It sucks especially for the kids, but those two cannot have that dog and at least they can give it up so it doesn’t have to be put down. Way to go
A dog can be your best friend. You have to stay calm be kind be consistent always walk them. Walking your dogs is a way for them to be social and get there energy out. Love them feed them wash them brush them. Stay calm.❤ Cesar is awesome.❤
Definitely the right choice. Cats make wonderful, interactive, intelligent, playful and loving pets. To this family, please look deep at what type of pet is best for your family and the pet based on your temperaments. Thank you for putting your children’s and pet before your needs. It’s heartbreaking but so many things we do as a parent are.
Yea they seem to keep getting powerful dog breeds, really they shouldn't have a dog at all. But I'm sure they went and got one right after the end of this episode.
It is good that the dog live to cecars home now. And became a new life with other dogs and a new family. It is better for the kids now because it is a dangerous Situation on the street.
I feel so bad for the kids. Really shows us how some people are unwilling to face their own fears and how that hurts others. Empathy is always the answer.
Why do they keep getting dogs they can’t control? Aggressive breeds?? Their children are in danger. I hope they realize they are creating aggressive dogs. They took no responsibility for this dog’s behavior.
Dogs aren’t born aggressive unless they are badly bred. Aggression is a learned behavior. Dogs become aggressive because owners are not strong enough to train them properly.
Cesar you handed that case with perfection. It was sad for the children to lose Roxy but until thier mother is able to become a better leader they should not get another dog, big or small she is the problem. I have a sodt spit for Rottie's and it broke my heart he was put down because it was surely the mothers issues that caused his insecurities to attack her. She should not have any dogs.
I am glad that the family came to their senses. Why getting these difficult breeds when you a scared and not a clear leader? Kudos to Cesar who saw it from the start. He put it in one sentence: bad dogs are not born, the are made. We humans are responsible that so many accidents happen, that so many dog end up in the pound. We want the dog to change but are not willing to do our part. Cesar is the best dog AND human trainer ever. Still!
Next the dog will go after the kids. .I've been a Professional Dog Trainer for over 45 years, with movie actors and well known people. I've had some clients swear their dog would never bite, and they turn around and a child is dead, or a child's face and body is scarred for life. This happens far more than people are aware of!!!
One of the first shots is of all 3 kids playing tug with the dog. then followed by pics of the kids on the dog or the dog on the kids. You're probably right that it would only be a matter of time. It happened with the rottie who bit her in the face... most likely she was hugging and kissing it. Obviously not many dogs are going to respect her and they certainly wont tolerate her type of weak energy assuming dominant positions over them. I guess she thinks it's 'nurturing'?
They love Roxy enough to make the best choice for her. Remember this lady was biten by her own dog and it required stitches to her face. That is traumatic in itself. She may never have enough confidence to have a strong dog that is a large breed or even a strong minded small breed.
Please.. it’s good you tried to save some animals lives but find a dog that suitable to your energy and kids as well. Because it is so sad for the dog to give it back to the pound shelter because of the adopters lack of knowledge on how to handle dogs. Thanks Cesar for keeping the dog.
Cesar you are a fantastic human being. The best dog trainer I have ever seen. You never asked for financial support nor do you put down those whom you help, and see the good in everyone, animals and humans. Thank you so very much.
Yeah, I see this over and over when watching Cesar rehabilitate not only the dog, but also the owners. The problem with these people is that they raise their pets the same way they raise their kids, i.e., spoil them, no rules, no assertion, no discipline, no limits. When you raise kids like that, they become the mass shooter at your local school, the uncontrolled kid in school or irresponsible adult at work. Cesar made the right albeit difficult decision to take Roxy away from their owners. Well done Cesar!
A lot of people are being kind of hard on this family & I get it... to a point. They chose & fell in love with a dog that was just way too much for their own capabilities. In the end, they stepped up & chose to do what was in the best interest of this dog. I truly wish all pet owners would put their animals needs above their own wants. So let's be kind & give them a little credit for doing the right thing, even when it broke their own hearts to do so.
Compassion for dogs is wonderful. Compassion for humans is wonderful too. Thank you @angelahartman3272 And thank you Cesar too. He had compassion for this family and appreciation for their letting Roxy go to a better life.
I understand what you're saying, but this isn't the first time. They wrecked the Rottie the same way they wrecked Roxie and they had the Rottie put down when the problem was them all along. I'm not saying it to be mean, but I am saying it to save future dogs the same fate...these people shouldn't have a dog.
They only did the right thing because it was at risk of being put down due to attacking another dog..... unless there' something we don't know behind the scenes of cource.
Thank you Cesar for your frankness. Very few people can safely have pitbulls, but nobody is really honest about this. Which is why there are sooo many problems with them.
It has to be accepted that not all dogs can cope with the kind of "playing" that their owners enjoy. Most dogs prefer a quiet, organised home and most homes with children do not fit that bill - sometimes with disastrous consequences. At least this couple realised that they could not provide the kind of home Roxy needed. Good for them.
THANK YOU CESAR! Why do these inept dog owners insist on these very dangerous breeds? They are SO lucky that there kids have not been attacked. They should never have another dog. THEY are creating the problem. EVERY SINGLE DOG THEY HAVE MEETS A TERRIBLE END. This is the second dog they ruined. Shame on them! The wife has the look of an abused woman and I wonder what goes on in their house.
Always this blaming of the breed - I can't hear it anymore. With no one can you see AS CLEARLY as with Cesar that it's not because of the breed! Even in this episode it is very clear that this pit bull does not have a problem with dogs and people per se, but has only developed problems because of his incompetent owners. Natalie said herself that the dog was great in the beginning - that is, at a time when the family's influence on the dog was at its lowest. Dangerous breeds... If 90 out of 100 Chihuahuas bite their owners, they are not considered dangerous or aggressive, but if 90 out of 100 Pitbulls behave perfectly, are they the exception because at least 10 Pitbulls show how dangerous the breed is? There are capable and incompetent dog owners, as well as there are sensitive and less sensitive dogs. DOGS, not breeds.
@@venomous2058 The thing is, danger is not measured by whether the dog bites or not, but how much damage it can do WHEN it bites. Even if I get bitten by 20 chihuahua's, my body will still be less damaged then if I get bitten by one pitbull.
@@fleurtherabbit "danger is not measured by whether the dog bites or not" So “potential danger” becomes “general danger”. Isn't that a shame? This means that a dog like - best example - Daddy would necessarily be classified as a dangerous rather than a potentially dangerous dog, even though Daddy (like many, many other dogs) has never caused any injury to anyone. No, I'm sorry but I can't agree.
@@venomous2058I myself find it less sad that a pitbull might not be as easily obtainable to get as a pet, than the fact that there are numerous reports of people and dogs that have been either mauled or killed by pitbulls. And I find it weird that for you their quality of life, or even life at all, is worth less than that of a pitbull, just because you like the breed. As a doctor once said: "The dog-bite-fatality national data is clear. The peer-reviewed medical studies are clear. Pit bulls cause more serious and fatal dog attacks than all other dog breeds combined.’’
I’m very proud of the family for having to decide to give up Roxy for her safety and for her life. All they wanted was for her to be happy, and unfortunately, this family could not be compatible with her difficulty level. Which is okay. But in the end, as hard as a decision, it was, they made the right choice for Roxy because now she could still live a life and get the help she needs to be adopted for the next family.
I have been watching a marathon of your videos and I am absolutely amazed how in tune you are to any dog you meet. If I could learn this skill with females life would be priceless. Keep up the great work.
I love that Cesar says "they're not born aggressive, we make them that way." I've been an advocate for pitfalls for many years and that is what I say including "it's the owners, not the pitbull." My daughter has a pitbull that is the sweetest boy
Interesting that the same people always have aggressive dogs, while others always have gentle playful dogs. Not a coincidence. At his center Roxie doesn't have to wear even a prong collar.
I met a lady at the shops the other day. 12wk old Shar-Pei mix. First owner, no clue, harness too big, dog was bouncing out of control.. She was so clueless. Reserch, learn, understand mentality of breed before buying. Don't get one for cuteness.. They grow up .❤
I don't know why but I feel the husband is the problem in this family I feel that this is a man who in the presence of others is very kind and calm but at home he's very aggressive towards the wife and which is why she's so submissive and I don't mean no disrespect but the wife seems to like look at the husband and say sorry to him when she did absolutely nothing wrong and to me that's a sign of domestic aggression or domestic violence I could be absolutely wrong and if I am I'm sorry but sometimes I get these feelings about families about people and I'm usually on point with my feelings
This video had me in tears, I cried right along with the little boy. Such a wonderful family, they did the right thing by giving Roxy a chance at a new life beginning with Cesar rehabilitating her. Dogs are a huge commitment, I have two GSD's and I feel the training is every single day, not just for the dogs but for myself as well. I learn so much from Cesar's videos, thank you Cesar!
