Reached $243k as of today at age 29 female. Only realised i do no want to work for the rest of my life few days back. Saved and invested to reach this amount. My inital thoughts were 'just save and invest as much,since money is king,i can decide what to do with the money in the future with my partner'
@@UltraVioletMilk I saved 70% to 80% per month. I still live with my parents,waiting for BTO in Singapore with my partner. My salary is around the average of Singaporeans currently? Less than $6k sgd
Also I think @demizhuang is very sensible when she mentioned about finding a partner with similar values. I made this mistake earlier in my life (which I don't regret and have taken steps to rectify) to find a partner for more superficial reasons. Nowadays I look for friends with similar values.

For the men out there, just sign on, by 6th year should hit 100k ++ alr. ( only if u spend wisely) Jokes aside, totally admiration for this lady. Hope more youths learn from her!
My lifestyle and thinking is very similar with her! But 100K including CPF is easily achievable. I started full time at 23 with 1.8K per mth. If you your salary remains constant with no bonuses, save maximum with little spending by 29 will also get above 100K
i know some companies in sg would increase your salary much faster for guys that serve their NS, its called post NS salary increment, yes its true we do have of 2 years lack behind but it should be compensated by the companies they worked for

After A-levels, worked 12/hr jobs, managed to save 15k a year. 19yo, employed in the hosp industry + part time degree. saved 80-90% of my 3.5k pay for 3 years. I saved 70k+ by then. Graduated and landed a FT, continue the habit. Pretty much attainable especially when you barely have commitments in your early 20s. Now it’s impossible to save 80% lol
Thank you @demizhuang for sharing. I guess i might be considered a boomer to your generation. But lifetime loyalty to a company only meant something to my parents generation (MG card carrying genuine boomer). Personally i kept firing my boss so often and with such short frequency that i just decided to go freelance. Since that way i get to say yes or no to projects that come my way. Maybe Demi might want to consider that path as well.
