Yeah, something is wrong with that sensor for sure

@@nikky2660 Its standard in modern cars for the gauge to basically only show a "normal" and "too hot" temperature and not the actual real time temperature the sensor is seeing. I guess its so that non car people dont get freaked out when the temperature fluctuates as is normal between the thermostat opening and cooling fans kicking in.

The temperature gauge wanted to play with a Porsche, without it, the Porsche would have come much later or even not at all in front of the Abarth. 🤣

its a fiat, full of electrical gremlins. i had one that did it. i'd smack the dashboard and the guage would go back to reading normally.

I bet theres a way turning it off with some sort of an OBD hack lol. TBH im surprised sportier cars don't give you the options to turn them off for track use.

New Ferraris do this as well in Europe

You can switch it off through coding, done it many times on the 595😅

Nearly all modern cars have them trigger with the ABS. With it being part of a safety circuit, I wouldn't be certain it can be disabled as those systems don't tend to have configurable options.

Ive driven even regular Puntos in the past and I fully agree. The chasis isn't your average hatchback and it definitely shows. Im quite sad they are super rare in my country... These things are truly special for having all the fun an Abarth 500 can have, but they are more comfortable to drive because they are bigger and such.

@@thijss1272 The plus side on these cars being underrated tho is that in almost every market around the world they are much cheapers than the competition. And I wouldn't say they are extremely "unreliable" either. All the DSG VAGs products aren't what people would call super reliable.

Yes i gotta agree with you. With a remap they top at 200-210 (with exhaust and CAI) . I have a regular Grande Punto with a VL38 and it looks like it accelerates at the same level. Mine is around 180hp with Koni Sport (yellow) and Eibach 30mm springs. Same tires as in the video and gotta say it handles very well. Never had serious issues.

@@whitegptjet yeah my mito qv multiair with stock gt1446 turbo has 215 hp and 330nm on a very hot day at the dyno🤣 does have supporting mods like full exhaust, intercooler and intake

@@Murphy252000 it’s insanely capable, has insane power reserves, only 400 Units and it’s currently somewhat forgotten. It can hang with propper cars on twisties and it’s just solid.

Alfa 147 had independent rear suspenion. Great choice too. Handles very well after some mods and is the best track tool from that period in the class of hatchbacks from Italy from early 2000s.

Agree, 147 is still a beautiful car; unfortunately the engines were not good enough. It bears the sin to not ever being fitted with the 1.75 TBi later found in the 159. The V6 Busso on the GTA even if it's a charming engine was way too heavy and the other petrol offerings were a bit slow. Can you imagine a 147 QV with the 1.75 TBi ? The perfect car

@@giovannifacci I wouldn't call 2.0 TS slow for 00s standards. That was 150HP which was way more than standard non-GTI Golfs and you still had the same suspension as GTA model, just less stiff springs.

But cars were much lighter back then and the 1.4 turbo it received was more than enough to make it quicker than many V6 D- and E-segment cars of the 90s, even when left in stock form. It was a handful in the corners though and the hammer-hit-in-the-back-of-the-head subtlety of the rather crude turbo setup didn't help. It's not hard to imagine why there aren't many left. Most of them got in the hands of dudes lacking even a modicum of Misha's skill and ended up in a ditch or wrapped around roadside trees.

At the end of the day, its the driver that counts... Maybe faster cars gets you in the straights, but better driver will always find you in the corners.

I think the essence of touris is me getting overtaken by an VW UP GTI on the outside in the caroussel in my R8, then printing the Pics and telling my wife that i overtook him on the inside. 😇

Grande Punto is better than the 500. More nimble and stiffer frame too

Lo stelo per molla ribassata eibach pro kit, o sportline è sempre giallo e viene chiamato b12 Lo stelo regolabile soltanto in altezza è chiamato b14 ed è grigio abbianto a molla azzurra. Stessa cosa per il b16 Ma qui nel video si vede che lo stelo è giallo e la molla è rossa quindi si deduce che l'assetto montato sia un b12 con molla sportline. Tra l'altro al 0:56 si vede proprio lo stelo per bene e la molla con il codice 113001002VA, stelo senza ghiera quindi non è assolutamente un b16

@@ChrisMintjes arounud 5:28 both of them say 'net te kort' which means 'just too short'. They're talking about the gear, it was just too short to make it to the next corner; you can hear Misha just taps the rev limiter. It was either that or change to the next gear which wasn't worth it for the next corner.

The temp gauge is probably not showing the real temperature. Just "cold", "ok" or "hot". My old VW worked like that. OBD2 would show much more temperature variation than the gauge.

There is nothing cringe about going slow and letting others overtake. make and model is irrelevant and this is a public session, not a race. Also there is no "doesn't deserve"; if they have the money and want to get this car, then that's the end of the story. How they drive it is entirely their problem. Just because it can go fast, doesn't necessitate the driver to always go fast.
