Rookie drivers take note of Steve's mirror work. It's non-stop, he's always checking. It helps you avoid cars in your blindspots and you can steer or accelerate out of trouble if you see it coming.

Steve I know you would never take one of the baby fire rescues for a spin... You'd want the giant tri axle! Thank you for another wonderful video. Thank you for what you do delivering these machines and ones like them, I know they arent some of your usual hauls, but you are helping to save lives heaven forbid their services are ever truly needed. I remember going to visit my mother's parents when we were kids from Bloomfield NJ to Tunkhannock PA via rt 46, to a portion of rt80 back to rt 46west to rt 80 west to rt6 west by Bartonsville to Clarks Summit and rt 6 the rest of the way. Even later when I started driving trucks it was 78 west to Phillipsburg NJ to rt 22 into PA and west of Allentown, PA back to rt 78west. Beings a Jersey guy who left I'm sure you remember a few other ones. Rt 287 ended at 202 in Towaco NJ. 295 ended up around Burlington. Glad they let you deliver the firetruck! Steve I really enjoyed this video. I live an hour from there, so from milesburg to the airport I know it well. Your height of 13'8"", would it not been cheaper to block up the axles and let the air out of the tires? You only needed 2 inches. But that's what she said! And you knew your route numbers as well within my state of Pennsylvania. Get Orwell back on the road. I loved the old cabovers. I had two 4070 Internationals back in the mid 80's. 318 with a 13 speed, a step up from the old B-61 , B-75 Macks I started out in. God bless and keep it safe.

sounds like you miss orwell you get use to a cabover like orwell it's hard to go to a conventional i'm comfortabel driving a cabover hope to see ole rowell back in good health soon safe travels i'm one that doesn't like a truck that tells me what to do take care

Funny, I have a Cummins 6BT5.9-M in my boat and I love the sound of that engine, but I'm not crazy about the sound of the Cummins in the Kenworth. I think the Cat in Orwell sounds way better.

The one in the Kenworth is being choked with DEF and other emissions crap. Do a search for "Deleted X-15" here on RU-vid to see what they sound like when all that garbage is ripped out of them. Worlds of difference.

2011 (i think) T660 was my first solo truck (for swift of all places). It was one of their lease trucks when they decided to stop doing leases so they took the 13 speed splitter off the knob to make it a 9 speed and stuck it in their normal rotation. Viper red with the studio sleeper. Im not a big guy im only 5'5'' so the tiny cab is perfect for me. I miss that truck, dont miss the company.

Flagstaff to 89a south through Sedona to get to I20 or I10. 89a was treacherous through the canyon especially in the snow or Monsoon season. Having 400-1200 foot drops with just a heavy steel retention wire before they put in guard rails.

Great content brother. I used to drive, (no age) but ! 322 was the way to go up toward your location. Backroads, yes, a lot of them. Now that the (BLUEBALL) has been finished since the early - mid 90's they say it is more easy, NOT ! I have done the same as your Father, Rt 6 across, that was the way and it was beautiful. We never had four wheelers trying to drive up under us on them two laners. Great traveling with you, stay safe and God Bless.

Well before I was doing the trucking thing I was into railroad history and what became 80 thru Pennsylvania was going to be a secondary route thru the mountains to try to combat the commodore's water level route! The surveyors and graders had gone thru and everything was ready for the rail to go down but the railroad had gone into receivership and had to halt everything and make account of its assets as they were and that is why it became 80 it was already graded for it. Last time I went thru it before I got cancer I had to drive my rig next to the divider in the construction zone for what seemed like miles b4 I got to the T/A in Carlisle!! I had my kids with me then and made for an interesting ride

I-80 was always I-80. The Pennsylvania Turnpike was built on some old abandoned South Pennsylvania Railroad route where they used the seven tunnels built by the railroad.

They're a different strobe. Fast strobe that hides in the camera's frame rate. Opposite as the Strykers headlight flashing. They don't flash. The camera's frame rate makes it appear flashing.

I-40 west of Flagstaff and into California is mostly just built straight on top of old Route 66, so it wasn't really 'back roads' so much as just a smaller road in the same place or a couple dozen yards to the left/right. Only major deviation is where it cuts the corner between Seligman and Kingman.

The ring gear is replaceable expanded with a lot of heat, remove the old one, get the new ring gear almost glowing hot then drop it right into place with just a few taps of a ball-peen hammer. SAVE some big bucks!!

I was born and raised in Altoona . U would run bypass rt 220 to 17th st then 220 Business to Tyrone pa and go back on 220 at grazerville pa . When i trucked out of Altoona area we ran west on 22 to 422 over to 79 north to 80 west . It was cool to see ya near my home town

Well they were definitely informed when it is getting there. He had a time and a phone number, even the destination hangar where it supposed to go it seems. I had never got my order show up unanounced, but never ordered super expensive firetruck lol, just farm equipment. Nobody dares to send harvester or tractor to a place when there might be nobody to receive it, lol. Actually happened with large fertilizer load and the trucker had to sleep in the farmyard. As not only people were not there, but the hangar was not yet empty. As they showed up several days early, unanounced.

I drive for cata the bus you passed after turning on to fox hollow was an Inbound H from Toftrees in regards to interstate 99 prior to its completion sometime around 2009 you would have to get off at exit 52 by bald eagle and run 220 to the milesburg i80 exit or if you needed 322 you could go over skytop mountain rd to where 99 was finished out and run that part from grays woods to exit 73 where 322 splits off 99 and starts toward Harrisburg

I've heard that if he don't follow the GPS on the newer trucks that you get so far down the road &they shut down automatically,I don't know how true that is or not, but if it is true then you might want to keep a eye on your gauges bcause your truck might just shut down by you didn't follow the truck GPS, be safe Steve & hope that KW doesn't do like I said in my comment

Million dollar equipment, 6 to 12 months to build, and where's it going to?. I flew from the UK to the USA to service a machine, arrived at customer, had no idea who organised it, the name I had, the person was on holiday for 2 weeks, and left no instructions. Few back next day. Happy customer in the end Steve.

wow great video yea about this time last year I drove from nor California to visit friends in Los Angeles I have a acura mdx we lived all over this state as kids at one point drove towards a small area we lived in and my GPS was like: turn left here I was like 🙄 yea right (besides they built a exterior wall there now) as far as no one knowing about the ambulance arriving reminded me of when truck drivers would mix orders up for Safeway stores so I would load up my 97 vw jetta and show up to deliver products that accidentally got sent to us people would be like alright you finally joined the best team 😂 no just giving you guys your stuff that accidentally got sent to us by them then that moment I heard burnouts then your like no guys no that's not me that's them !!

Is this airport government run? Airport Fire Truck, why here? Oh, no, we park it across town so when there is a fire it burns down all the way, so by the time we get there it is out, and we save water that way.

I always wonder how overworked people are taking delivery calls and how disorganised is their work, as they have comprehension problems all the times in all continents in all times a day, feels like they pull allnighters all the time. Probably conscious only with caffeine. And disorganized orders and messaging does not help people working on the ground too. Hopefully they won't need that truck ever, lol.

"It's legal for a price" - Yeap, that's how businesses see fines, the cost of business. Rich people see tickets (like speeding tickets) as "I can speed, it costs $x is all." . Why I am all for tickets based on income. The poor don't get financially devastated and the rich don't get a slap on the wrist and let go.
