There wasn't really even that much snow! The wind and temperature are what made it unbearable. Roads would go from hardly any snow, to 3-4 ft deep drifts out of nowhere. Thanks for watching and you guys stay safe as well 👍🏻

Watching from the UK this is the second video I have watched where one of these outfits has got into trouble. I cant believe its legal to pull that kind of semitrailer with such a small truck, and using such a flimsy fifth wheel setup. It will always be the tail wagging the Dog.

I'm sure it is because of that garage that I became involved in the trucking industry and later on school busses theses videos bring back memories of the days in that kind of weather trying to keep them on the road and running! That was a nasty storm glad all survived safe! How far did you have to tow the tanker that was a load! Great videos take care guys!

Yes, many memories of days spent with grandpa riding in the 27ton pulling out snow plow, after snow plow, after semi when we were younger! Though there really wasn't all that much snow in this storm, the heavy winds and cold temps made it brutal. We wished we had gotten more footage of the tanker wreck, but OSHP and EMA was really pushing to get the road opened as it was nearing darkness and little visibility. We nursed the tanker about 3 miles to the south to another company's tow lot where the tank could be pumped off to another tanker. The 5th wheel plate on the semi tractor had the slide stops sheared off, and the tank was crumpled in the front, which made towing it an extremely delicate process. We never broke 10mph while towing it, but having 155k lbs behind the wrecker with a smooth bore tank, we knew it was there!

Yes they are! We are trying a few other brands out now to see which ones will be the most forgiving and have the best longevity, before we purchase ones for the new truck.

Right! We came up on another company struggling to get a Honda Pilot out of a deep ditch with a rollback just after that. We hopped out to help him and ended up just putting a line on it as well just so we could get the road opened quicker.

It was a 12,000 gallon tank I believe, and we were told the milk weight was 100k lbs itself…then the weight of the truck and tank added to it put it around 155k. Definitely a chunk of weight behind the rotator!

No, the Turnpike is all contracted out. I know there were multiple companies out there getting the road opened back up, but I believe that is at the discretion of the contracted company for that zone to call others for assistance.

Tanker was a full load, and the front of tank was wrinkled up at the kingpin plate pretty good. The sliding 5th wheel plate on the tractor had the stops sheared right off of them. We took the tank maybe 3 miles to get off into a lot where the milk could be transferred.
