You finally got over the hump and won four games in the playoffs... but at what cost? You wanted Florida? You get Florida. When will people learn not to tempt fate?
Nah for Toronto management it's about the money. Look at the section lowest to the rink after each intermission. for the first 5 min..empty. it's the finance bros shooting the shit over sushi still, it's not about the product on the ice sadly
@@josephrocco2954 Yanno, I never once got to cheer for my team making it to the 2nd round. In 19 years, (because I started watching in 2004 sadly) not one single moment of happiness for me. I'm glad you don't know what it feels like, and how I've felt all these years, but we have every right to be celebrating after a single round win, because it's the first time in 19 years we got to cheer. So take your negativity elsewhere bud, I finally had something to be happy about and no one is taking that from me with any amount of jokes and BS. Bye 👋
If I were him, I would rather cut ties with cringey sportsnet, call it a career, and start cheering for an American team. And I'm saying this as a Canadian.
As a lifetime Leafs fan all i could do was just shake my head at the "we want Florida" chants. Them beating Boston was no fluke and they'd be coming into the series with all of the confidence and none of the pressure.
The whole we want Florida being blown way out of proportion. Those same exact people were also chering we want boston, because the series wasn't over. But take your headline and make your memes I guess
@@Birdman957 it does though. At that point they're just chanting because they want to play in the second round, it's not targeted at either team specifically.
@Cousin Patsey When you chant "We want ___ " it is seen as a slight at whomever it's targeted at. So no it really doesn't Ask the Yankees fans how chanting that with Boston and Houston has been seen, and worked out for them.
I am. I always had humility, as for the rest of us. No fucking way. They won’t learn. This city never learns, they will keep being arrogant till the end of time. Fuck me.
games over they lost it when they went down 3 in series but they did get robbed last game pretty sad when ref decides series.season an fans who paid 2grand a seat nhl should be ashamed fcn degusting
Fans of the NFL's Detroit Lions can relate. On December 15th, 1991, they won their first playoff game and series (there is no difference in the NFL, where playoffs are all single-game elimination) in over 30 years. We still remember that win against the Dallas Cowboys fondly, because now (over 30 years later), it is still our only playoff win since the 1950's. Cherish this memory, Leaf fans! It might have to sustain you for a very long time.
They did have the misfortune of running directly into the buzzsaw that was the Redskins the next round that year. Last time the Redskins were any good come to think of it.
Not that it makes things any better but the Lions had playoff victories in the 50's, so it wasn't technically their "first". First and only in the super bowl era though :(
over boston, anyday of the week brotha at least we won 1 game in the second round, if that were boston, fuck no lmao, also u clicked here to comment this so i can also say "rent free baby" and it still applies here :). gg.
I still hear the “we want Houston” chants Yankees fans were doing last season before Houston came and swept them in New York 😂😂😂 you wanted em, you got em
NHL: “Toronto! You knew I could never trust you to win a playoff series!” Toronto: “That’s right, now hand over the Stanley Cup!” NHL: “Or what?” Toronto: “I don’t know; I never thought I’d get this far.”
The Panthers and the Heat both make it to the 3rd round on the SAME NIGHT! As a South Florida sports fan, I’m so happy, it almost feels too good to be true. 🤩🐆🔥
Enjoy it, I know what that felt like in 2021 with my Bravos winning it all and the UGA Dawgs beating Bama to end the 41-year drought to finally win the National Championship. The repeat by the Dawgs felt just as good along with a perfect season.
As a long time fan of Steve Dangle, I was elated to watch him enjoy the Leafs first round win. And was equally elated to watch him wallow in misery after losing 4 of the next 5 games. Leafs gonna leaf
@SupernovaTaamsay Correct. Not a Leafs fan, but really hope they win the cup at some point because I'd love to watch the video. But simultaneously love watching his pain, makes me feel better about my life 😂
@@leoomega2002 To the Leafs credit, they won a game vs the Panthers unlike the Yankees vs the Astros. Still doesn't make it any less funny that it was another curbstomping following the 'we want' crowd.
I had to watch Dangle's LFR after this. It was shocking he wasn't as homer as I was expecting. Don't know why I was expecting Jack Edwards in a Leafs sweater, but Dangle was very humble. Good on him for having some class.
@@u4yk He’s seen as “yelly-screamy man” but he’s very level headed with his takes for the most part. Dude has been humbled by 25+ years of Leafs fandom.
You know, I honestly thought you'd've put in some clips of Bob's saves and use audio from Jay Onrait yelling "BOBROVSKY", but this made me laugh anyway. Great video as always Tree
@@manzac112 it's weird. He's like Carey Price tbh, being able to overcome a mediocre regular season to become a brick wall in the playoffs. I hope they go all the way, do it for Barkov! He deserves the Cup. It would also be symbolic to win it a year after MacKinnon won his!
@@NickRants propably because their fans are the most annoying people i ever met and maybe because when Boston choke, every leafs fans were joking and laughing about them on every page
@@bgduhood6953 yeah because for once they got something against the bruins. How do you think the bruins treated the leafs after 2013 and beyond? Obviously you’ll get something back when you choke 🤣
@@NickRants They were probably laughing too in 2013 final when the bruins choke. (Choke teams vs choke teams but one were only choking in the first round)
@NickRants It’s an original six rivalry. The “hate” between the original six never leaves. It’s always simmering during the regular season, but the playoffs is where it’ll boil over.
@@HeyRoosty Are you ok? It must be a pretty lonely life wandering the RU-vid comment sections, correcting everyone else's absent minded mistakes, when they comment first thing in the morning, and don't care to edit said comment to correct it, and then get the big "edit" bracket next to this comment...
Look on the positive side: they didn't get eliminated in a Game 7 match. They were eliminated in 5. To make things even sweeter, we could get a Bruins vs Panthers rematch this year. Edit: It looks like it might go to Game 7 again, unless Boston closes it on May 2
@TheKitKatThe I stand corrected, I'm not sure why you Leafs Nation loonies keep doing this to yourselves. Don't let my comment deter you. "Losing feels worse than winning feels good" - Vin Scully
Gentlemen's sweep isn't just losing game one and sweeping the rest of the series, it can also refer to any 4-1 series, because "you're being a gentlemen by giving them one win" so you're both technically correct
As a Leafs fan, it was nice to have something to celebrate…but this second round proved that this team gives us NOTHING lasting to celebrate. Time to blow it up.
Literally every other team except Buffalo has won a series in the past DECADE; including Seattle. And - only Columbus, Minnesota, Seattle, along with Arizona are the only teams not to make the finals. There are currently only three teams who have not made the third round (Columbus, Arizona, Seattle), and this only goes back to 2002!
Great edit hahahaha the "we want Florida" is priceless, nobody talks about the fact that many fans were also chanting "we want Boston" that evening at the square
I got into hockey kinda late (sophomore year high school). when it was time to choose a team I wanted to make my decision based off two things; the logo and the record of the team the past year. I choose the leafs because I liked the logo and because (Circa 2012) they were absolutely terrible so no one would call me a bandwagon fan if I chose them to be my official team. I wish I would’ve done some research into the teams history because if I had I wouldn’t have EVER chosen them. They have single handedly killed my love for hockey to the point where after they get eliminated every season I can’t even watch the rest of the playoffs because it reminds me how DISGUSTED I am in both the leafs and myself. Some people if they had a Time Machine would go back in time and do something heroic like kill hitler or stop 9/11; but if I had one I’d go back and stop 15 year old me from becoming a fan of this god forsaken franchise.
God you sound like the fakest person on earth. I picked a team who sucked so I couldn’t bandwagon. 10 years later I want to quit the sport due to my team losing…..
While I get it, I don't... But I know this is just that " next day hurt" that passes for us hardcore fans...happens for every "true" fan of a team with a lot of current baggage that carries right along with said fandom basically. I feel like this every year, in terms of hockey, but I choose Winnipeg because I live here... I was born in MN, my dad and whole family are all Canadian, he just took a job down there before I was born, and we moved back when I was 4... so I don't really have much connections to MN besides paper...(also lived in WI for a bit, but they don't have an NHL team anyway, and it's the same issues anyway...) Its not like choosing the wild wouldve been much better for me anyway...😝 We just gotta ride that love a bit. Yes it's disappointing, but it's always more special when they do end up with more... Just like I'm sure you may as well have won a cup when you beat Tampa eh?! I REALLY suspected a sweep if/when they finally won the first round (depending on situation of the first round win, their opponents, etc etc...) Atleast now that "the curse is broken" I truly believe the real battle for the cup for the leafs begins next season... If they lost like the rangers lost in the first round AGAIN, I bet changes were a coming, and heads we're gonna roll... I believe everybody kept their jobs with the first round win, but now everyone knows they can do it, and that just making the second round isnt good enough... They took a step forward, and not backwards. For the leafs in the post season, they should probably be proud, even if it stings a lot, and guys love to make fun of the leafs...
@@DonSMDT I watched the leafs build up this roster from nothing to having all this high end talent that’s fun to watch in the reg season. It doesn’t matter tho because they all no show when it matters. Almost makes being a fan worse because it just doesn’t make sense why this keeps happening. It’d be easier to swallow if they just sucked ass lol
You think you have it rough? I’m a Sabres fan. We haven’t even made the playoffs in 12 years. I was 13 last time I got to see my favorite team play a playoff game and now I’m 25. Not only that, my city has never gotten a championship in its entire history other than the Buffalo Bandits and I’m sure no one cares about Lacrosse including me. It could be a lot worse bud
Not sure if that may happen, as Steve is employed by Sportsnet and Tree is basically a freelance RU-vidr. The voice from the other guy though, I'm not sure if he's a freelancer too.
