Fun facts about cotton eye Joe: the song was sung by a Swedish band trying to stereotype hillbilly Americans. Cotton eye Joe is slang in southern states for sexually transmitted diseases The most common school dance song is this song.
@@chimpanzee341 just because it is used that way in some areas by some people doesn't mean "that's what it means" . The song and term predate that use by probably a 100+ years
Talk about bringing back old memories from 40 years ago...our high school had a large dance teams like this one and oh my those high kicks!!! Thanks for the memories
Think that they did one hell of a job, very good coordination and timing,as well as keeping things in line,to bad the camera never zoomed in on any of it throughout the performance
Eh... Disagree. The best thing about this type of routine is watching the dancers move as a whole unit, no zoom was needed imo. (Also they likely recorded on a cell phone, im betting.)
A couple of years ago, one night, I was about to propose to my girlfriend when my roommate Joseph barged into the room out of nowhere, tripped and fell over, breaking a glass table with his face. Totally ruined the mood. Now, I didn't know Joseph THAT well, don't even remember where he was from, but let' just say I put my plans on hold to help him through his injuries.Joseph had gotten a big glass shard in his eye, making him completely blind in that eye. He was walking around with one of those cotton pads on his eye for a couple of months. Then suddenly, he disappeared, along with my girlfriendApparently they'd bonded during the time after his injuries, and eloped together , left me behind without as much as a note. I tried to track them down, but never could. In conclusion, if it hadn't been for cotton eye Joe, I'd have been married a long time ago. Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, cotton eye Joe?
I doubt there were this many capable dancers in the oldest three years where I went to school let alone this many willing to form a team for a single cause.
It's refreshing to see a well choreographed dance routine. When I was in high school, the cheerleaders tried too hard to dance trashy to the "hip hop" music at that time
Awesome!!! When I was in my junior high, high school, and college drill teams we did kicks, formations, and splits. Jump splits were my favorite. I wish the schools would go back to that. Loved your uniforms also!!
This SONG has such Special Memories FOR ME As It Was Always PLAYED AT OUR ICE HOCKEY ARENA IN SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. AND IT BECAME A DANCE I USED TO DO WITH MY THEN YOUNG GRANDDAUGHTER. SHE IS NOW 18.YRS OLD. AND GORGEOUS.
First time I’ve seen or heard the term ‘Kick line” before, even my phone’s autocorrect was trying to change it to something about chickens. Cool term, I’d like to see more of it.
Very impressedvwith these young dancers! Such energy and talent, dedication and long hours of practice to get it just right-these kids will go far in life, I feel certain!
They don't look like children.. and women and teenage girls have been dancing, performing like this in the last hundred years all over the world, not just in a French Caberet. Cheerleaders and dance teams have performed like this in the last 50 or 60 years, just the skirts are a lot shorter now. So, this kind of dancing has been going on since 100 years ago. But why are you comparing a Caberet dance to this dance team..Caberet dancing is more seductive and sexual. These young ladies are doing no such thing. If they were, their parents would take them out of the team and complain to the school principal. But luckily it's all innocent and fun.
Really nice routine. I loved the jump over. The only thing is the stand still adjustments. Alignments should be made in the last few steps of the movement. Adjustments in motion are less likely to be noticed. Great job ladies
POGGG I wanna be able to do this This looks so cool, and I can safely say there is nothing like the experience of country line dancing to a song with many many people dancing along with you, it’s fun and you feel so connected. Would recommend
