First and foremost, congrats on an awesome product. It is full of great features. Questions: 1 - 48v is it input independent and persistent after power off? 2 - are you planning on doing an in dept look at the Expander, Compressor and Equalizer features? Are those persistent after power cycle? Thanks!

First of all you guys nailed it. . .again! I'm 20 years in this industry as a musican, mixing and mastering engineer and you guys are reinventing the whole game. @LEWITT-audio Год назад
@@gaston-alegre-stotzer Thanks! 1. Yes, you have 48V on each mic input independently. It will retain the last settings when disconnected so if you leave 48v on, it will turn on upon reconnecting. 2. Working on a video right now that dive into the DSP effects actually! Your DSP settings are retained after disconnecting the interface, so you can keep the same effects when using it without a laptop (ex. recording to a mobile device).

This inteface looks amazing!!! Covering many solutions... Please, I need something like this but with more pro-balanced outputs, for live performance, I need outputs to send my backing tracks separately and also my processed vocals and my guitar... Consider make something like iConnect interfaces, with a plenty outputs.... I think you should go for a CONNECT more well all rounded, with 4 JACK Outputs, and maybe another CONNECT focused on individual outputs (6-8 outputs and just 2-4 inputs will be enough for many cases) for live performances, this is a niche on the market, and not all wants to load a big mixer or rack interface to this... MAKE DIFFERENCE!!! Go Lewitt! My best wishes for this company

Just power it stand-alone and run its L/R speaker outputs to the back of my Focusrite 18i20, and effectively have 4 inputs on the front of my desk vs the 2 I have now :)

Hi thanks for the question. The CONNECT 6 comes with a line instrument input (not a Hi-Z input). A DI box is recommended to achieve the best tone when using an electric guitar. The preamps are optimized for microphones and feature an ultra-low noise performance of -133 dBV EIN and 72 dB gain.

ADAT IO would have been nice but I'm guessing that will come with the Connect 8.
@frantium
@frantium Год назад
Looking good so far. Wow, 72dB gain and built in DSP. We see a trend where dynamic mics now have built in inline preamps, which is a good thing. I have accumulated a few inline pres because compact A/I usually don't have proper gain for gain hungry mics. I would like to see the day where it no longer matters. And please, please make the software robust for Windows users! This is regularly the achilles heel of many brands. Generally not a problem with Macs. Also, I don't see an on/off button, maybe it's hidden somewhere. If it doesn't have one, maybe for the next iteration? Looking forward to test this one.
@LEWITT-audio

Thx for the great feedback and input. One of the goals of this audio interface is to uniquely combine software and hardware to provide a stable audio performance. For Windows, CONNECT 6 comes with its own ASIO driver to provide optimal performance on Windows machines.

@@photographiezautrement I know that for a fact. A few AIs worked just fine and then MS updates Windows and bam, they no longer work. Is the Connect 6 able to use the Maschine+ (or NI's Maschine products in general) and a PC at the same time? The video also says that the second USB C port is intended for smartphones/tablets, which can also be charged at this USB C port. Could other devices (a second PC or notebook) be damaged by the voltage present on this mobile USB connection? The video also describes that the Connect6 can also be operated standalone, for which the two inputs are required. Suppose I go from a small mixer via its two main outputs to the two inputs of the Connect6. Do I then get two mono signals at the output of the Connect6, or can it be configured via the control software?
@LEWITT-audio
@LEWITT-audio Год назад
Good questions. The mobile port is optimized for lossless audio transfer to and from iOS/Android devices. I can't speak to compatibility with other devices, including an additional laptop. It's meant to be used exclusively for said devices. In regard to your question about operating without a laptop, you could connect a mixer to CONNECT 6 but if you connect to the combo jacks, you will get two mono sources. The only workaround would be connecting to the aux input which is a stereo pair.

Hi! I would have some questions... - I need to use my main monitor speakers and sub speaker in same time. Can i use the Trs pair and the small jack output together in same time? Although I suppose they share the same volume control. Maybe better solution to drive the sub speaker via one of the headphone outputs, to get level control over sub speaker? - Is the Aux input routable/recordable into Daw? - Can i have direct monitoring setup for input 1-2 while also monitoring the sound arrives from the Daw via usb? Thanks in advance.
@LEWITT-audio
@LEWITT-audio Месяц назад
Yes, the AUX and the main line outs work at the same time but are linked together in terms of volume. When you say sub speaker, do you mean subwoofer? In that cases usually you send the main outs to the sub where there is a crossover filter with outputs for your speakers. The Aux input is fully independent so you can route and record like the mic inputs. The Aux is input 3/4. Yes, with CONTROL CENTER you can use Mix A or B and send whatever signals (direct inputs or software outputs) you want for your desired mix.

Will you fix the terrible dulled instrument sound on your next software update???
@LEWITT-audio
@LEWITT-audio Год назад
I assume you are plugging a guitar or another hi Z source into the combo jack? The reason the tone is darker/dull is because these jacks are not optimized for hi z instruments, only line level. We recommend using a DI box with electric guitars/hi z instruments to get an accurate tone. Unfortunately, this is not something we can change through software because it has to do with the physical properties of the input.

@@LEWITT-audio I am not using OBS or a software streeming device i am using a hardware video switcher the ATEM Extreme with 8 HDMI video inputs and live streeming built in like may peope do for professional use. Other products like the Tascam mixcast 4 and the roadcaster pro have this feature built in to make sure you can sync your audio with your video with in the unit. I did order the CONNECT 6 yesterday i should have it in a few days as i do not need the extra inputs of the other larger units for my small in studio use. It would be great if you could add this in a furmware update like the others have as if my audio will not sync up rght i will have to send it back and buy one of the others so hoping this works out with it. I feature i am also hoping works the way i need is the outputs on the back.. If i have the R and L out going to my powered speakers and i plug in the mini out into my Camera can i shut off the powered speakers output when recording so i get no feedback? so the mini out stays on. This way i will take the mini jack out into my Camera direct then that feeds the video and mixed audio into the video switcher ready to go. @LEWITT-audio Год назад
Hey, thanks for the feedback. I will pass that along to the team. Regarding the outputs--the speaker output is tied to both the 1/4" jacks and the stereo mini jack. So whatever source is selected will go to both. A workaround would be to send the extra headphone feed to the camera and then you could make separate mixes for each.
@goactivemedia
@goactivemedia Год назад
@@LEWITT-audio With testing i did last night that will not work when it gets here. The ony way i have got this to work is to take two feeds one from the main talking mike into phantom power and then direct into cam 1 and then take the headphone out of my currect audio interface and send it into Cam 2 shooting my keyboard playing but then the only way i can monitor the sound is by pluggin into the HDMI output monitor and that still gives me a doubling effect sound and delay making it super hard to play the keyboard when the sound it delayed i hear but the end recording ia all synced up on playback doing this. I was hoping with all the rounting on the CONNECT 6 i would be able to plug the mike into it not the camera and rout just the mike out one headphone into Cam 1 and then rout out the back mini jack with the Mac sound so i get my keyboard playing going into the Cam 2 so my playing syncs up with the sound. Then be able to hear both from headphone 2 in sync as i am recording and playing the keyboard. So this will not work?

Promising device, impressive preamp specs, DSP, gorgeous unique design at a fair price. BUT: the remote guest recording functionality is way too complex for the probable majority who is looking for an interface at this price point vs other available interfaces like the Vocaster or the Presonus Revelator. (+why should a podcaster who is looking for a sub-300$ interface get Logic when Garageband is free and perfectly capable - but it does not have I/O routing, so the Zoom guest recording option is gone + anyway complicated to set up). Admittedly I’m looking at it from a niche perspective, but from that specific view: no auto mix-minus for phones, no bluetooth i/o with mix-minus: generally rather limited mix-minus options overall. 2 separate mixes are way too few to manually create them, as well as streaming sub-mixes, considering that one of the mixes must go to your own headphones. Love the Expander and Maximizer though as well as the Auto setup (+ all the Lewitt mics 😀, they’re amazing) Very good start, ask us next time! 😉👍

There is a rapidly growing number of “ipad only”musicians, like myself, that are desperate for a live setup that will incorporate a high quality audio input for a microphone, and also have a midi input for their synthesizer, keyboard, ewi, and many other devices via usb C. This interface initially sounded like the solution, and I know Lewitt makes high quality products. But with no ios app to access the effects or routing, and no MIDI inputs we are once again out of luck. As an example, I use a vocal mic to sing through, and use two midi devices (one is a controller) during solos. No laptop needed! The ipad has now become powerful enough to handle this easily, but there are still few options that allow for high quality input and output, rather than a usb hub with a minijack output, which always fails eventually. If you were to add a MIDI input, and create an ios app - those of us in the IOS community would scoop this up in droves.

@LEWITT-audio What's not clear? With any MacBook, your connect 6 card requires two USB c cables, one for the power supply, the other for the audio signal itself, to the power port on the card, and the computer port on the card, otherwise when using only one cable, the sound is only into the right ear, when using 2 cables - simultaneously, everything works as it should work normally. but on Windows, everything works fine with one ucb c _ USB c cable, in two ears...

I've been using this interface for over a year but the software is so buggy and not intuitive. 2 major problems: 1) It crashes SO often when changing values of different DSP. The entire program will just freeze entirely with all the bars and knobs frozen and unable to be moved. If you close the app and reopen it, it will say "No Lewitt device connected." It will not come back until you disconnect the cable entirely and reconnect it after a few seconds. Then the bars will move and the software will work again. The interface hasn't bricked itself so I'm not too upset but its frustrating making changes or plugging in a device and not knowing if i'll have to waste time troubleshooting at random moments. 2) Presets are not automatically selected when opening the software causing changes not to save correctly. For example, lets say you have a preset set named "Vocals" under the Equalizer. When you close the app and come back to it later, the preset "Vocals" is being used still. You can see the correct graph and settings displayed. However, in the dropdown selection above. The preset is empty/not selected and the program will not know which preset you will be making changes to or saving. You have to re-select the preset first and THEN make changes and then save. If you make changes while the preset is empty, changes won't save.

Just got mine today and it's been nothing but a disappointment. First, Lewitt's own website won't recognize the serial number. Second, the unit won't recognize either of my Android devices when I plug them in. On top of that, my Slate ML-1 functions okay with this box, but the 48v light on the top doesn't light up even though 48v is toggled on. It *does* flash when plugging in a mobile phone so I know there's an led under there somewhere. Already had to contact support once about the serial. Three tickets out of the gate is extremely bad mojo, and I'm not all that inclined to keep banging my head against this wall. Very close to putting all of this back into its box and returning it. That would suck since it will cost me money, and I've already thrown away several hours attempting to get it working. True shame. Looks great on the video. Not working out that way. Was going to get a Lewitt microphone as well, since everyone seems to love them. After this problematic introduction, I can't see that happening. I hope everyone else has better luck.

Can the device be hooked to 2 computers instead of a computer and a mobile device? If that's the case, you guys are competing in another segment you probably didn't even know existed: with the iConnectivity devices. If this is the case, it's a game changer because currently in the multi-computer audio interface scene iConnectivity has no competition.
