I don't think you can do it with a mic that has a in-built chip to decode analog signals into digital but I don't think most or really any microphones do that.
The warning reminds me of hooking up an 8 inch 3 ohm speaker with 10watt rms to a 1000 watt power amp and with a low C we launched the voice coil and most of the cone across the room like a wire guided missile with a puff of smoke and that all to familiar ozone smell 😂. The amp was ok after but we didn’t try again. I also once used a small dynamic mic as a talk box effect. It was great till the capsule had enough slobber to complete the circuit between me and the amp ⚡️🫨 so I’d also advise against doing that. It tasted like blue
When I was a kid I figured out that I could plug my earbuds into a mic port and they would work like a crappy mic. I thought I had discovered something huge...
i bought a cheap old phone once and wired a quarter inch to it. hooked it up to my 100 watt head got about 2 chords out then nothing. i guess thats why they’re in phones and not guitar cabs.
did you grandfather make a short video on it? Let's see it! 😂 That's awesome though. Definitely an old trick but new home recordists often don't know these things
Thanks for the information, dude. Now that we know that she's not the first person to have ever done this, it'll be waaaay less interesting to anyone who wasn't aware of it! /s And did they teach you how to spell "you're" in the 60's or is that something that only the youngins of today were taught?
