I usually do a small perfection loop on both fly line and leader, unless they come pre-looped. I'm gonna try the nail knot variant on the fly line next time. Thanks!

Looks really bulky to me. Have you had problems getting this to go through the guides both ways? I usually use the nail knot and when I want to change the whole leader make the butt section of the old leader into a perfection loop.

I've been using this system for years and have not noticed any problems getting it to go through both ways. If you notice on the closeup near the end of the video, the fly line loop knot is about the same diameter as the perfection loop knot on the leader.

Or cut off the stupid loop and attach 15' of 12 lb Maxima Chameleon to a swivel then 2' of tippet.
