Connecting the Strymon Iridium in Stereo...and maybe why?

If you put your delay/reverb pedal prior to the Iridium, that would allow you to use the headphone output and still get the effects you want rather than trying to run something like the Volante and then figuring out how to get it back into headphones.

The main reason I would run a stereo pedal in front of the Iridium is modulation. Chorus, flanger, phaser sound really cool in stereo and I generally prefer them in front as opposed to post-amp. That's really the only good reason I can think of though, unless someone just really likes running stereo delay into the front of the amp for some reason.

I have a HX Stomp but just bought an Iridium. I am going to try using the Stomp for effects before the iridium in stereo using the TRS splitter cable you talked about in this vid, but I also tried putting the iridium in the loop of the Stomp so that I can have pre and post effects. Since the Iridium uses the 96K IR's and the Stomp only accepts the 48k IR's (i think), does this result in some loss of sound clarity/quality? I am assuming that the Stomp somehow needs to compress/downgrade the signal from the Iridium but I'm not sure. I generally prefer reverbs/delays after the amp but if it means the Iridium will sound 'less good' using this setup, I will probably just place all stomp effects before the iridium.

hey bro nice vid! I have a question. I have a boss (es - 8) with 2 outputs, Output (L) and output (R). within my boss (es 8) loop I have my pedals connected to each of the boss es 8 loops. I was wondering if i use that cable to connect the 2 trs 1/4 stereo cables to the 2 outputs of the boss es 8 then the 1 stereo trs 1/4 cable to the input of the iridium, then iridium's output (R) straight to the PA, will i still be hearing the ping pong delays? hope my question is not to confusing sorry!

Great video, just curious if I had mono pedals before the Iridium and put my stereo effects after, would I need to still switch it to stereo? And would I need any trs cables in the instance or just ts?

If one wanted to put reverb, delay, etc. after the Iridium, might one then use something like the Old Bloodnoise Headphone Amp pedal at the end of the chain and utilize the headphone jack in that pedal?

I’m so confused. I’m thinking of buying the iridium and running it stereo, but never done stereo ever before , so I’m kind of a nubbie for this stereo stuff haha. Can someone please explain his signal chain to me? That stereo jack is going straight to the mix or going to the volante and drive? Or are the pedals connected to the outs?

Is this a good competitor for a bedroom amp ( katana, yamaha thr....) using it with a studio monitor such as a rockit or yamaha? I don`t find videos about this, it seems people use it live with PA or at home with a DAW and/or headphones.

Hi, I'm about to buy Strymont Irridium ... I am a Mesa Mark 4 owner, I see that you also have Mesa behind ... with Irridium you can make a Mesa sound? Or do you play with clean Fender and match a Trotle Box or other distortion device? Thanks in advance for your reply.

If I use a reverb and delay pedal after the iridium do I just use the mono out of the last pedal into a an audio interface to record into a DAW?

I know you run it direct. What speaker cab or pa do you use?

Does the room effect on the pedal and the cab IRs sound bigger in stereo? Supposedly they are from stereo mic'ed emulations. If so for that alone would answer the why of having the stereo out in use.

OHHHHH... so the iridium can accept a stereo input!?? I had no idea! Where that might come in handy is accepting stereo modulation effects, like chorus etc up front.

Why? Because headphones
