In 2021 many people are getting into the Audio Book Narration Profession. The requirements concerning the ACX, as well as other Audio Book distributors are both extensive as well as easy to accomplish if you can grasp the basic concepts of Audio Requirements.
Hello, my name is Dana and I have been recording the “Spoken Word” for 45 years. I have analyzed close to 10,000 Podcast files using the recommended standards set forth by the Audio Engineering Society, commonly referred to as the AES.
I am also the owner of D & L Studio LLC. Please keep in mind that meeting the requirements concerning the ACX is more complex then Podcasting will ever be! With Podcasting, there are only recommendations. With the ACX, they are requirements. If you do not meet them, you will be rejected! I am an active Narrator with the ACX.
Audio is fun! Mixing and mastering is really quite simple when it comes to the spoken word. STAY OFF EBAY looking for cheap mics. In the last 12 months they have been flooded with counterfeit brand name mics. It has gotten so bad that the real manufactures of these products are now listing this statement on their official sites as well!

I think a lot of the issues that I've had in the past stem from the fact that the mixer doesn't even show up on that screen at 4:00. That little frame is blank. I'm about to go troubleshoot someone's unit so I'm watching your video to prep before leaving.

I have a network for the equipment and another network for the users. Between the networks there is a firewall. I need to know which TCP/IP ports should be allowed on the firewall between the Mixer and the mobile application?

You never want to connect to any network other than the router that’s connected to your mixer. The only exception is if you are using the Dante Expansion Card. You come out of the mixer and into the LAN Port. That’s it. Now you can assign up to 10 wireless devices to your router.

Thanks for your help I had started learning digital on the presonus because a friend had it on sale cheap..... I always told my wife that I'd buy an x32 just to learn it. question. Im helping a friends church, can I set up a local router that is NOT hooked to the INTERNET and use it to communicate with the x32 THanks. Are you on facebook

You should not be connected to the internet to start with. The router is for communicating between the mixer and wireless smart devices. Yes I am on FB. facebook.com/groups/x32RackUsers/

Hi Dana, I've seen that you have a Tascam Us16x8 also... how have you integrated it with X32R, can you describe your connections?

The biggest thing it can do is act as a Pre-amp to feed the inputs for the aux ins. other then that, it pretty well just sits there chilling out. ;-)

There is a Behringer Compressor on top, a Ultra Pro 8 Channel DI Box below that and a Tascam 16x8 Pre-Amp on the bottom. I have since removed the compressor and pre-amp since that video.

It can only connect through the Ethernet port, either wired or wireless through the router. The USB is strictly used for sending and receiving audio files.

Great video. Question...what would cause the app on the iPad to frequently disconnect from the WiFi?

Do you need to have an extra router to connect your ipad to the rack? On purchase we were led to believe we didn't need any further equipment...

We don't have a router in our rehearsal room, nor do we have an internet connection there

You only need one router to connect your iPad/Smartphone to the X32 Rack, but you don't need to have internet access to make it work. The router is just for communicating between the mixer and the smart devices. It has nothing to do with the internet.

Does the xr32 have the option to shut off wifi signal. Like pure analog and don’t want to send a wifi signal because your using other products on the wifi spectrum

Not really but if you don't plug into the back Ethernet port, then it has no way to know it should be connected.

Does the direct connection to the computer only work on PCs? My mixer wont connect to my mac (I'm using a Ethernet to USB-C Adapter)... but when I make this direct connection to my PC it works!
