Connor Bedard 2022-2023 WHL Highlights, he will be this years 1st overall pick in the NHL draft and is regarded as a generational talent. All of the clips are in chronological order as well, enjoy!
Lol... Bedard won't even get close to holding a candle up to McDavids career... can't even believe people are acting like this over him. Yes he was great in the WHL, lets pump the breaks though about the kid.
I keep trying to explain to people that just because he doesn't skate like McDavid that doesn't mean he can't reach that level in his own way. His shot is his main weapon, and it's every bit as special as McDavid's speed was coming out of junior. It freezes everybody and opens up the ice for him.
I was introduced to the game of hockey in the mid 80's on ESPN. The term hat trick was a nightly occurrence on ESPN for an Edmonton Oiler who would later be known as The Great One. The Canadian scouts awarded Bedard an exceptional rating. The kid can skate and is a sharp shooter. Should be fun to watch for those in Chicago.
Toews is only 35 Hawks would be wise to bring him back on a more affordable contract let him mentor this kid show him what disciplined leadership looks like
That Mite travel goal horn is brutal. Greater majority of these goals the pats are playing w the lead. Is he that much better than everyone else? It looks like he’s playing against kids 2 years younger
Haters can say what they want. But this is a generational talent. The world juniors should have been the proof, that tournament is not designed for a 17 year old to put those kind of numbers and highlights.
Couldn’t agree more. If he had a good team in the whl his stats would be even more impressive. He had a team around him at world juniors and look what happened.
@@goheat007 Patrick Kane is arguably the best American born Hockey player of all time. Won 3 cups with Blackhawks who will be drafting Bedard after winning the draft lottery.
Kinda sorta. He plays smooth like Kane, just always seemingly thinking moves ahead of you, gets to any spot on the ice, and generally making people that have played all their life look silly. But he has even an even better shot IMO.
Nice he increases his skate speed, he’s gonna be insane. I believe he will have speed issues for the first little bit being in the league. Mcdavid at this point was already blistering quick, Bedard has a better shot at this point than McDavid did, and his hockey IQ is very good. He’s also deceptive and unpredictable in a good way with the puck. I think he will score 42+ goals rookie season, top 10 rookie scorer in history.
:35 seconds into the video Bedard sees his defender shooting, keeps his stick on the ice for a farside tip while turning his body to clean up the rebound for an easy goal.. gorgeous
The Blackhawks won the draft lottery so they get first pick :/ even if you're a worse team and lower on the standings, it's not guaranteed that you'll get first pick, since it's a lottery
This guys has 12 mins of highlights. Just him scoring 12 mins straight. Players in the NHL sometimes only have a 4 min video of their WHOLE career highlight
Me: *calmly sips the tears of jealous NHL fans…* “Ahhhhh that hits the spot…” “Hey Siri, be a dear and put Chelsea Dagger on would you?” *realizes there are probably blues fans reading this* “Wait Siri! Actually, play me some Gloria!” 🎼🎶🎶🎵🎶🎵
@@DeltaHighlights I get people not wanting the owner to get Bedard. Us hawks fans hate him the most. I also understand people not wanting is too get Bedard b/c we just got out of the Kane/Toews Era. But Chicago has recently been through a lot. And the fans deserve Bedard. The Coach and GM getting criticized for stuff they werent a part of... They deserve him. I dont like how some people are saying the NHL is "rewarding" the hawks for S.A. even though if the Hawks wouldve been properly punished and lost draft capital, it wouldve been in 2022 not 2023. Just seems like theyre using the Beach scandal to justify their saltiness. Again yes, the league HORRIBLY mishandled the Hawks "punishment" But they werent rewarded for S.A.... They were rewarded for tanking
I’ll probably get flak for this but I’m very unimpressed by the lack of defense most of these highlights are against. I’m genuinely curious to see what happens when he runs into NHL caliber defense.
Not to be that guy but there are plenty of players who score loads in the Canadian junior leagues that never translate. Most of his goals seem purely shot based, which if you're playing against lesser defenses and goalies work wonders. I'm extremely interested to see how that works out this coming NHL season given his skating is just slightly above average and goalies will be able to stop most unscreened shots. Not to mention he will be playing on the worst Blackhawks roster in my recent memory.
The ducks are last in the standing and I sure hope they win the lottery. WELCOME TO THE DUCKS BEDARD also I think ppl should calm down the hype just a little bit. don't expect him to have 150 points in his rookie season it took mcdcvid a while
My only concern is that he doesn’t have great skating, and speed. I feel like a lot of the stuff he pulls in Junior hockey won’t work in the nhl. He’s a great shot and that’s about it
Lol his vision and playmaking ability makes him 2 steps ahead of everyone else even when he doesn’t turn on the jets. He also has a third gear when he wants to use it.
@@SnapshotMC94 if you look at where the nhl is heading, skill wise, for these offensive type of players, they’re more of a mcdavid, Mackinnon style. There are ofc players like Leon who can put in goals, but he’s nothing crazy like mcdavid. If we re talking generational talent than bedard isn’t going to be it. He will be good but he ain’t no Conor mcdavid
@@xqyxq you don’t know that. His junior stats were better. Bedards ceiling is very high. I’ve never seen someone have such great vision/wicked wrister combo. He can sell shot everytime then feed open Teamattes because his shot is so respected. Look at his world junior performance… 23 points in 7 games as a 17 years old. 143 points ,71 goals in 57 regular season games is insane. He is mountains above everyone else in junior at only 17 years old, If that has any indication what type of player he will be strictly basing it off his world junior performance, he may even become better than mcdavid. You don’t gotta be the fastest when your already 2 steps ahead of everyone else. Gretzky wasn’t the fastest. I live in Regina and got to see him live many times. Even on the goals he doesn’t score or passes that don’t go in. U start seeing the little things to his game that have u scratching ure head in disbelief of how he just did that. He’s generational and will put up 100 plus points as a rookie in the nhl. Put your mcdavid bias away, and looking at stats you can’t say he’s not generational. Mcdavid didn’t put on a show like bedard did at world js. So I’m curious what ure basing ure decision off of when u say he’s not generational
@@SnapshotMC94 I’m basing it off of what I see in the nhl. I’m not saying he is bad, but he’s simply not going to be better than mcdavid. I’m not even going to include mcdavid in this conversation bc he is simply the goat,in my opinion. I think that hughes is only going to get better, and honestly I feel like hughes has a better chance of being the best in the league over bedard. Even Gretzky said hughes is the next big thing, and he’s american born 🇺🇸
@@xqyxq you are so out-to-lunch it’s hilarious, if I had to bet, Bedard will end up being Top 5 to ever play when he retires from the NHL. McDavid is currently the best player on the planet and if there is any young talent to challenge McDavid, it’s Bedard. He’s simply better than McDavid was at the age of 17 in every aspect apart from Skating Speed and people can’t figure that out. Im confident saying Bedard is already better than Jack Hughes, will have to see it play out next year.
@@SS-iv7wv I don’t understand where your argument is? Bedard has out performed mcdavid at the same age, given bedard was actually 6 months younger at the same points in their junior careers. If bedard keeps progressing he might even be better than mcdavid one day. Gretzky wasn’t fast like mcdavid, but he was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers.
Don’t get me wrong he plays with his head up but 15-20 years ago he wouldn’t have soft d men in front of him and prob would’ve had the wood laid on him a few times at least. Still hope the best for him.
I'm calling it now.... Bedard will be a bust. Go watch the early highlight films for Crosby, Ovechkin, Robertson, and McDavid. Bedard has the speed and the stickhandling skills of all of them, but there's a certain physicality that's missing from his game that makes me feel like he's gonna get pushed around by the NHL big guys.
I don’t think he’ll be a bust but I do think he’s being overhyped . I think he’ll be a great player but comparing him with Crosby , Mcdavid etc is a little crazy to me
@@About36Greeksshe has better stats than McDavid in juniors while playing on a much worse team than McDavid did in juniors. Kid will be putting up 50-60 goals for the next decade. Draft pundits just overhype and use the term “generational” too much when it comes to 1st overalls. Hughes, Dahlin and Laffrienere were overhyped, Bedard is the real deal.
I’m sorry for you Blackhawk fans, but based on these highlights, I don’t see the talent of an Orr, or a Lemieux, or a Gretzky. This pretentious guy is NOT “The Next One”, regardless of him choosing a number being a digit behind “The Great One”.
