We talk more about another two goal game Connor Bedard had against the Danes as Canada beat Denmark 5-1 at the 2024 World Hockey Championships. #hockey #nhl #connorbedard
As a Hawks fan, getting to see the kid play with other NHL players show his true ability. He was the only player other teams had to shut down most nights. If the Hawks did not lose so may players to injury, he would have had a little more help. Please do not ruin this kid, Blackhawks.
@@damitzdesignNo not jealousy it's just facts. Bedard has no elite level support that other elite players need to truely shine. His potential is wasted on the Blackhawks they need to make some serious trades and buy outs to get a competent core around Bedard. He's a generational talent with 0 support
Bedard will be an elite player. He gets way more premium ice time because his team isn’t good. He’ll get better and round out his game . If a team had 12 Wayne Gretzkys , they would probably lose every game 9-7. Hockey is a team sport that needs different types players to fill different roles.
@@yaro1401yeah Britain is nowhere near Canada’s level, however they still miraculously managed to only lose 4-2 which was incredible. They could potentially improve themselves very well if they developed youth programs. I really want to see hockey become even bigger worldwide
Britain is definitly not competition. Denmark is not really either however they have some good NHLers and most good danish players play in the SHL too.
@@wombatwilly1002 Also doesn't help that players are always constantly coming and leaving, like Tavares who just came onto the team after their playoffs
all these countries, all play the same way.. sit back, clogg up the neutral zone, and then play a tight box infront of their own net, 6man goalie blocking shots. its difficult to rack up the score like maybe 10-20 years ago.
@@SnapshotMC94 NHL allow lot of dirty plays agains't star players it hurt some more than othet bedard is small so him more than others. But even mcdavid not big enough canucks shut him down with dirty physicality.
i want 10 mins and a game for the design team at this tourney....it started with that strip of fushia on GB unies, then the "i know its 4:55 but can you get that Canada sweater done before 5?" Milquetoast affair...to the socks from a 90's pig tail raver minus the roller skates, ....they even effed up the refs gear.
Speaking of crosby, does anyone know why he doesnt join these? I dont follow international enough to know really. Before, prob cus the pens were deep in the playoffs right? But more recently I'd imagine his competitive nature needs such an itch scratched especially when not even making the NHL playoffs...
Bedard is a Canucks fan/supplant despite everyone else in North America hating them? I'd suggest that hatred is inherent to making sports profitable, but come on. WHO DOESN'T WANNA HATE SOMETHING WITHOUT ACTUALLY KILLING SOMEONE? Not that I'm suggesting... anyway. That's why sports. 🤟🦄✨♥️
This hasn't aged well, as the kid has completely disappeared in the tournament. Not arguing his skill - #98 is going to be one of the best to ever play... but the hype machine is a disgrace.
@@SnapshotMC94 While playing against the weakest teams in the group. Let's see how he will do against Switzerland, Czechia and Finland and then we can talk if he is destroying the competition.
3-1 before an empty netter an a PP goal with 21 seconds left. Unless you mean GB, in which case they're a Div I country that's only here because someone had to be promoted for Slovenia (didn't hurt that they were the host for 2023, either). 5-1 is not convincing in that context.
It matters little what Connor did in this tournament as last I checked hockey is a team game. Canada lost....never even medaled. ...Canada is no longer the dominant force in hockey. Hockey in Canada is failing at every level and gender I might add....just as it's housing market has failed and just like it's dollar has failed for the past 15 yrs now. The dollar was on par with the US $ for years but now has lost about 25% of its' strength . Eh bye? Oh Canada!!!
@@mathieumaillard6566 Doesn't matter. They won that one and another and are now in first place. Canada had a bad start last year and won gold. First games aren't that important. In the last eight years, Canada won 4 gold and got silver 3 times. That's 7 out of 8 years being in the gold medal game. No one else is even close to that.
What are you trying to say...? There's more tech to shooting a puck "nowadays" than just slapping it. Quicker release generating damn near the same amount of power winding up taking a clapper
@@LaSTBlazin If sticks did 70% of the work everybody could buy a top of the line stick and be good which is nowhere near true. How do you think bedard got that shot it's from repition and working out to get stronger.
