@@tonybleau6219just wait till he has decent line mateswho can set him up, or can finish. Once he gets decent players around him teams won’t key in on him so much either. Crazy how he just turned 18 as well
@@anonymous134y But his 65 relative to era was insane. Pretty sure it's considered a top 3 goalscoring season ever if adjusted for era but not sure how valid that stat is. Now we've had three 60+ goalscorers in the last 2 seasons. Bedard has one of the deadliest releases in the league at 18 and scoring is up. I think he has a very good chance of getting to 70+ one day 👌
Oilers fans see the talent level of McDavid, its awesome to see that level of talent with such a nice personality attached. No homo. Bedard is too clean
that happened in the whl too ~ he was playing with regina & last year ( nov 26 2022 ) they came to victoria bc to play the victoria royals ~ he scored a hatty + assist & victoria cheered every tyme he scored ~ i was on video cam crew up on the media floor & beside me were a group of regina staff & it was cool when victoria scored later on & they cheered for us ~
Such a quick release and willing to share the puck to create more opportunities for his teammates. He's gonna be pretty special as he gets more and more experience.
Most Gretzky like player seen. Isn't the fastest yet seems to find himself enough a head of defenseman to get clean chances. Doesn't seem to have a crazy shot, yet snipes everything. Doesn't do any crazy over the top stick handling yet still has hands that make magic. Makes something out of routine looking plays. Insane hockey iq/vision. Awesome to see!
he does have a crazy shot already one of the best in the league ~ elite & unique & considered his signature skill ~ able to shoot quickly with power & accuracy & its deceptive as hes able to change the angle quickly ~
If only he had credible 1st line linemates. Then you’d really see him shine. It makes me kind of angry that Davidson put him in this position, to not just carry his line offensively, but to carry the whole damn team. We’ve seen him score the first goal of the game several times, just for the opposition to focus on locking him down, and shut the Hawks out the rest of the game.
Kurashev has been solid in that role. Given that most teams would be able to muster a better to player to be a skilled linemate for the young superstar, Kurashev has still handled it more or less. In this reel are plenty of examples of Kurashev making the right pass when Bedard finds open ice and of Kurashev being ready for Bedard's great vision and converts the passes into the net. He's not a star but he is not a problem
Bedard looks like he could be in middle school compared to most of those guys out there and is probably already the 2nd or 3rd best player in the league.
He is definitely not the second or best player right now. In a few years almost without a doubt, but right now he is 40th in goals, 85th in assists and 56th in points. All the star players are, right now, better than him. Thats not to say anything about next year, but rookies are rookies even if they are amazing.
I'm waiting for that first open ice hit on Bedsy. I want to see how he handles it. I'm wondering if he's a Glass Cannon. I will say it was amazing seeing him pull off a Michigan this early in his career.
you will need to wait a few years before that happens, no doubt everyone knows the entire blackhawks team will go after them so much as they even think about laying their body on him
I've said for a long time that Elias Pettersson will change NHL by paving the way for these kinds of players. You can see a shift in what coaches are recruiting and building and what the audience is excited about. Game sense, skating, puck handling, shooting...this kid has it all. He is not quite up there with Elias, but he is several years younger than Elias was when he came to NHL so this is very exciting. Hockey is evolving, even though some will be angry about it and call for more physically tough players that aren't afraid to throw down the gloves and go at it, because 'that's what hockey is about'.
Elias Pettersson is not the person paving the way for these kinds of players at all. Kids will look at McDavid or Jack Hughes before Pettersson ever gets mentioned
@@peterolbrisch8970everybody on earth except perhaps you means a citizen of the USA when they say American. Don't be that "acktually..." guy that you're being
@@YouSirAreNoob Oh no. You would be surprised then to hear someone suggest that Connor Bedard would be a great addition to the US Olympic team. 🙄And do you "actually" think that you spelled "actually" correctly?
What I would like to know is why has Bedard’s rookie contract not been bought out yet? The first year of Cale Makar’s contract, they re-signed him for $8 million over 3 years. Check the facts.
yeah.. but it wasnt like Crosby was losing every game by 8 .. and then were not even talking about Lemiux´s impact on the league.. give this kid some time and he will be at the top, I project Pasternac.
As of Dec 15, in the last 16 games he has scored 3 goals. Do the math, with this average he is tracking to score a whopp'n 22 goals for the year! Wow sensational!!
lol the guy as almost a point per game at his debut with a crap team and you still try to cut part of the season and only count goal to fit your dream narrative where he is not good. Gtfo why you even watching other than being sad that the guy you probably kept saying was going to be a flop isnt
It hurts to watch this while having to listen to Chris Vosters call the play. I’ve tried, but he’s unlistenable! He’s a guy pretending to be a hockey announcer. And while Pang was good as an on-ice guy between benches, he’s a terrible in the booth. In a game versus the Canadiens, Pang butchered the name of Arber Xhejek, pronounced “Jack eye”, calling him Arber Jackov. Freudian??? Finally, can someone explain to me why Carley Chelios is anywhere near a Blackhawk broadcast?
@@bend4137 Think of all the people who spent big money on a communications degree in the hopes of getting a dream job like this. Nepotism at its finest.
He ain’t doing anything even though he is great,Why? The Chicago Blackhawks STINK,no help, the opposing teams know now,to shadow him,I hope he does not get hurt or loose perspective!Old,Old ,Old ,6 team Chicago Blackhawks fan!
No it’s not ? Certified name for a certified beauty. Short snd Simple. This is hockey not NBA OR MLB OR NFL. Where all those guy have douche bag nicknames
Bedsy is very hockey. If you want a corny one like the NBA or NFL, guess you could call him BeDart. "Bedard with the beDart!" Lmao it doesn't sound too too horrible when saying it 😂
Bedsy was his nickname his teammates gave him in juniors. I had the opportunity to see first hand how good this kid is. He’s just starting to heat up to
All of those great offensive stats yet he still led his team and all rookies in the plus/minus category...at the minus end. Overrated one dimensional player
