I'd rather see UVA in the SEC or the B1G than a depleted ACC.

UVA should go to the BIG10 and Va Tech should go to the SEC. They just seem like perfect fits since the BIG10 has several bad teams.

UVA may not want to compete in the new environment and stay in the rebuilt ACC.

@@frankpotter5936 Sadly it's not about best fan bases. It's about who adds value and VT just doesn't do it. There are only two sports in college athletics that makes $$$. Football and basketball. VT just doesn't add in either one. Plus the SEC has always liked the state flagship university.

@@jamiethornton6101 There is no way UVA adds more value than VT. The UVa football team is the worst team (last place) in the ACC over the past 20 years and their basketball program is overrated with 28 teams having been to more final 4s in basketball. Outside of one year, the UVA basketball team has been known for choking. Many of the stats folks are looking at are coming from VTs recent but short down period in football. If you look at longer term numbers over 20 or 30 years you will find that VT has far more economic potential than UVa. Their football team is back now coming off a bowl victory, leading the nation in returning production and currently ranked 21 by ESPN. They sold out 5 of the 6 games last season while rebuilding. UVa offers nothing similar and remember VT has been to 38 bowl games in the past 40 years. No other team in the country can claim that. If this is about money, then this is about football and I don't see the SEC passing up the most consistent team in the country for one of the worst.

What should the ACC have done that was both effective and feasible?

TCU beat Michigan in a playoff game. The Big 12 has not won a playoff championship yet.

@@DavidM442 I wrote "coming into this realignment", which started in late July 2021 with the news that TX/OK were moving to the SEC. I believe that the BIG12's playoff record was then 4-0-0.

Michigan's last lost was to TCU in the playoffs 2yrs ago.

Neither clemson or florida St is an aau school, so the big 10 wont add them. The sec doesnt habe much to gain by adding them either. They already have tv markets in florida bc of the gators and on s.c. bc of the gamecocks. In addition, its a real question whether thise 2 teams mean more money for the conference overall in tv deals. Finally, in regard to fsu, no one really wants to deal with them. Theyre looked at as a whining, troublemaker baby that runs to the attorney general to try to get their way. No one wants to deal with that nonsense.

@@alostcause4035How can you tell when someone is speaking about something that they know nothing about? Florida AG Ashley Moody wants to run for governor in the next election. She is a Gator and has that base sewn up. To expand her support, she jumped into the FSU litigation totally uninvited, to garner support from the Seminole community. It was a cheap political stunt that actually hurt FSU. Stick to a topic, if there is any, that you actually know something about.

⁠@@jansonroberts2616And many people are unaware that FSU ranks #53 academically, tied with Minnesota, and ahead of, in order, Michigan State, Penn State, Indiana, Rutgers, Iowa, Oregon and Nebraska. They are rising fast and have broad support among the people who pull the purse strings. Many of the schools that are higher ranked are in slow/no growth Northern states and FSU will pass them in the coming years. Also, it is a high probability that they will have AAU status in less than five years.

Not from the perspective of the SEC and B1G. From the BIG12's perspective, likely.

The Big XII didn't have to accept Cal, Stanford, and SMU in order to vote-farm enough votes to keep the conference together. They were 1 vote from being dissolved last year, that's why y'all dumpster dived those schools. SEC-Texas, OU B1G-USC, UCLA, UW, Oregon Big XII-Utah, Arizona, ASU, CU ACC-SMU, Cal, Stanford ACC, you're doomed.
