The sparring partner’s aren’t even trying to make him work or hit him, he needs sparring partner going full pace and trying to take his head off, he needs that to keep him sharp and faster timing.

He has slowed down majorly, but perhaps as he drops the weight his old speed might return

He’s not destroying them. But it’s interesting to see how different he moves now compared to the last few times he’s fought. He was definitely stiffer in the Khabib fight even. Now it seems the time off and probably the medical treatments you can access with his kind of money have made a huge difference. He was probably carrying a lot of injuries for a long time. His ACL tear, broken toes and broken leg were all on the same leg. This means it’s likely that his stress fractures prior to the Dustin fight were probably a result of him compensating for injuries in his knee and toes. These can take a long time to heal and you need proper physio to train out compensatory movement over time so that you don’t further injure yourself. I think he tried to pretend for a long time that nothing was wrong. His brand couldn’t afford people to think he was in bad shape. But now he’s been through all that shit. There’s nothing anyone can say that he hasn’t hear before and he actually looks like he’s healed. And that titanium leg is going to be a serious weapon. He’s moving better than he used to. In weird ways we haven’t seen. He’s actually throwing kicks again. And it looks like he’s worked out ways to check those calf kicks.

The cardio isn't keeping up with the skill anymore. If he gets back to his old cardio levels which at his current weight is almost impossible to achieve, he'll move like he used to. There's just too much weight for his body to carry.

He is too big people, he got slow...for sure stronger but slow and he is gonna gas out faster now. Of course its really good to be sparring full contact after that really bad accident. However for his next fight he needs to be faster chan Chandler or you run the risk of getting taken down again and again. I hope this is footage of him just being able to go full contact and just starting his serious training camp since there is ways to go still.
