#conqueringdystopia #playthrough #guitar Conquering Dystopia - Destroyer of Dreams Playthrough Memories! haha. Filming and playing this was a lot of fun. I know it's been a few years, but I thought you may enjoy seeing this again.
Remember listening to this record alongside with Feared, Rest, Repose, Dorje & more. Great times, when all the RU-vidr-bands & -musicians came up. Song's still ripping in 2022, hope to hear some more, eventually. \m/
Still one of my all time favorite playthrough videos. This song is a monumental beast, from what I consider a high watermark of heavy, guitar driven albums! Here's to hoping there is another Conquering Dystopia album somewhere down the line.
All these years later, this song is still my morning alarm clock sound. I know that if I don't get up and shut if off before the intro is over, I'm going to be waking up VERY fast.
I'm gonna try this. I just don't want to associate my favorite songs with waking up for work. I feel like that would be a great way to ruin a song for me lol
@@adeptusmechanicus1029 no shit I did this to myself. I put on an Angel Vivaldi song I loved as my alarm a few years ago and after about a month, couldn’t listen to the song without a sense of dread because i associated it with getting up for class. Can certainly happen
Same here. I thought the name of the song was so fitting for an alarm clock track. Still using Destroyer of Dreams as my alarm clock. The song is awesome. So true about the intro. Love it.
Indeed memories! Maybe my personal favourite from the album.( And also that arpeggio section was a pain in the ass to practice 😅). Can't wait for a second album some day! Cheers Jeff
What an amazing bit of guitar mastery. Inspiring and disheartening all at once. I really hope you guys do another album. Conquering Dystopia album is still about the best thing I have ever heard. So, incredible!
For a second, my heart skipped a beat thinking CD is back...now you're just teasing us with a re-post of the old stuff. CD needs another album to demo your new pedal and Jackson. Might as well make another solo album as well. Not that any of us mortals are your peers, but let the pressure commence. Let's go. \m/
Everything in the studio is so clean, pristine and organized. Much like the elegant ferocity of the music you two are playing. FUCKING HELL thats my jam.
The task at hand is to do the right thing with the ability to do anything on guitar…still waiting for sth. great/whatever Jeff comes up with after the recovery and the bread n butter adventure with Arch. I would suggest to coop with an amazing singer with his own ideas (again?). Written with great respect
Whatever people say or rate, Jeff Freakin Loomis is the best heavy metal guitarist ever. He's like the Lionel Messi of guitarists. Btw I'm not including Toni Iommi in this list because Ozzy era Black Sabbath is the heaviest music that was ever created. Mr. Jeff, you are a god.
Jeff I think it's time to switch it up and take everyone by surprise. We have heard you for years tear it up with awesome riffs and solos, now its time to make an album with more melodic phrasing. You have some amazing sections in your past stuff but instead of playing the same stuff switch it up and show your a diverse guitarist and musician.
Not gunna lie... i like the "schecter" loomis more, felt like home to me, like the real tone you were tryin to achive. The rawness and heaviness of it. Obviously, i'm biased; the fact that the songs done on these times were my favourite, music wise, with nevermore and solo.
Dont get me wrong, try the Jackson, but you would have to put a bullet in me to get me to part with my Schecter with blackouts. Still one of the best guitars IMHO.
I seriously don't get how talented musicians like Jeff Loomis get very little response when he clearly is a master of the instrument, and some girl walking around her house just farting and gets way more views than a fucking guitar legend!!?? Joey Boonz was right, this world is upside down.
