My brother is in IB and has MBA from tier 1 College , He got into IB because of MBA and says CFA only adds credibility but for a job you need some Good College Brand on your Resume .So do CFA for knowledge not just for a job .
@@vhegde5016 mba in finance will be better but top 10 unversity / college of that country will get you job in ib orelse check placement by college that pervious years and go .

CFA won't help you that much to go and settle in abroad. It's not like it is completely impossible but in foreign country any employer will give first preference to those who are the citizens, the PR holders, fresh passouts from their country's college/university and then finally to those who are on work visa (or might have got PR) but with complete foreign education. So as per the hierarchy it becomes very difficult. The only thing which can help is to get the CFA charter and work for 7-8 years and accumulate as much capital as you can and then do a diploma, masters in finance or MBA from foreign college/University, then your CFA charter as well as Diploma or masters will both get counted to help you get a job.

Those looking to get in entrepreneurship should rather go for CMA. There they can learn subjects of importance to Businesses viz Income tax, GST, financial accounting, costing & cost mgmt, Corporate financial reporting besides FM. One can learn these without spending time Articleship required for CA in CMA program.

Sir ask him to do nism certification to start with. I am my self a baf graduate and I still regret i didn't do it at that time . And also ask him to look for any risk certication like FRM. So that with his graduation he could complete frm or atleast be professionally better in the industry level.

I think cfa is good for ib roles coz cv ma showoff ho jayega the current booming field is private equity :) cfa plus caia is good . Although you are right cause as i research all the people in US or Europe dont do cfa to get into IB. They either do economics or get into really good ivy League school then further move on :) Same with Indian MBA:)
Investment banking is essentially sales. Believe it or not. CFA teaches you the BASICS of finance. But IB is a completely different beast. A successful salesman can get into investment banking any day, whether their technical skills are great or not.

NO special qualification. 1. You need to be street smart. 2. Able to generate alpha returns ( greater returns tha others) 3. Comfortable with alternate investments ( Basically study about finance, take up courses/ Jobs/Internships you can take to keep on building the accumen.
