NOTE FROM TED: We’ve flagged this talk for falling outside of the TEDx content guidelines around new age beliefs. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: storage.ted.com...
In this talk, Sarah Poet, M.Ed explores the reclamation of the sacred feminine and masculine archetypes within each human and within our collective. Masculine & feminine are not gendered words, and our common misunderstandings of these words often create more separation. But connection is possible when we look at how this has affected every human and unite together in reclaiming the true essence of both. Through personal story and a collective call to action, Sarah explores how a conscious life path of reclaiming the sacred feminine and masculine archetypes can lead to wholeness and connection in life, work, and relationships. Sarah has created Embodied Breath to help the collective consciously relate through this experiential understanding. Learn more at www.yourembodiedbreath.com. Sarah Poet, M.Ed boldly advocates for us all to reclaim the lost parts of ourselves through her writing and through her trauma-sensitive coaching practice, Embodied Breath. She is a mother, soul searcher, creator, space-holder, mindfulness instructor, speaker, entrepreneur, group facilitator, teacher & healer. Sarah has been consciously dancing with the archetypes and healing her own inner feminine & masculine for the last eight years. As a system’s thinker, she can’t help but notice the nuances of how we commonly relate to one another and what blocks human relationships from thriving. And as a believer in a better world and a soulful entrepreneur, she can’t help but to imagine and invite ways to safely access deep connection and love for all. To that end, she develops innovative healing modalities to offer to individuals, couples, and groups, modeling authentic personal storytelling along the way. She can be found on the web at www.yourembodiedbreath.com & www.sarahpoet.com. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Sarah talking about the sacred feminine and the sacred masculine is a beautiful way for people to look inside themselves and embrace both energies! I really enjoyed your talk. ❤️

Hi, love the talk The masculine traids I like the best are: confidence, focus, clear, assertiveness, strong and stable The female trais I like the best are: generous, creative, collaborative, receptive and grateful I'll work to put them more and more into my personality

Suppressing the (sacred) feminine is a COLLECTIVE wound of separation, as Sarah says. Meaning: we are all harmed by it the dominance of masculine energy in this patriarchy. This imbalance has causes all trauma through all time and will eventually destroy our planet if we let it. This is what needs be healed in humanity at this time. I hope we all start talking more about how to balance these forces within us individually and in the world power structures.

Patriarchy. You fools act like all men are rich and oppress women. Most middle-class, particularly white women are better off than many men. So this anti man foolishness has no basis.

This is ABSOLUTELY a message we need to hear and embody now. The fact that TedX flagged this as "outside the content guidelines" shows how very, very important what Sarah brings forward in this talk is. This is a formula for healing our world - and for healing ourselves. The fact that it was resisted by TedX simply shows the depth, breadth and intensity of the medicine for us all within it. Thank you, TedX, for (finally) publishing this talk. I have been waiting for months to watch it, as I couldn't make it in person to Asheville for it, and it did not disappoint. This. Is. Revolutionary. And it is EXACTLY what our world needs right now.

We all vibrate. Feminine and masculine means possibilities and action. When you create a possibility and act on it you have achieved balance

I was moved the first time I heard this...in person at the theatre. But on listening again, I had more time to take in the message, so there's a slow resonance and deeper understanding. Some powerful stuff there, my friend! Keeping being a disruptor; it's good for us :-)

Ok I still have a lot of trouble to acknowledge those energies with those labels of feminine and masculine. It doesn't work for me at all as this is too close from gender stereotypes and it makes me cringe essentialisation. 😣 I loved the part when she said I want feminity in power. Wich for me would actually lead to a redefinition to how power is considered today, with so many toxic masculinity traits. And by doing so, to me at least, there is no more need for feminine or masculine qualification if a leader whether men or woman can be as intuitive and active they want to be. I feel this binarity in terms still prevents to think more widely of inclusivity and also how as humans we repressed stuff based upon gender stereotypes we all suffer from.

People used to talk about the "deep masculine", and its opposition to toxic masculinity. They talked about nature and cooperation. I think it is time to remaine the "deep masculine", and talk about it again. Maybe make it less about male relationships.

Absolutely, unfortunately many feminists see what they are trying to prove as a fight against man. Masculine woman sees weaknes in feminine man. Cant blame ancient man for choosing to stand by masculinity because of power. In my opinion. There has to be balance what we all need to understand

PS - Shame on TEDx for flagging this as too "new age" for your content guidelines! That sounds mighty judgy for an organization who's mission is to "spread ideas" and is centered around the vision of "the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world." Seeking to change attitudes and the world IS envisioning a "new age," is it not??? Sounds rather closed-minded and unvisionary, if you ask me. I"m disappointed in you all. Yet people speaking on psychic abilities, acupuncture, chinese medicine, human energy fields and mindreading somehow didn't raise you "new age" flags??!!
